This beautiful detached cottage, that sleeps 6/8 is a 3 bedroom, stone built property situated in a prime position in one of the prettiest villages in the North Yorkshire Moors. Greengate, originally 4 cottages, was converted to a single residence and refurbished in recent years to a very high standard. The village offers a local inn with restaurant, the world renowned Ryedale Folk Museum, craft shops and tearooms, all within a short walk There are fabulous walking and cycling routes, and many places of local interest.

to add to the previous positive reviews, the greengate cottage is lovely, big spacious, warm, cosy, great location, great owners to make things as homely as possible, lovely big bath, a great find in a beautifall location, the moors are amazing..

Had a lovely relaxing weekend away at greengate cottage. Very last minute booking and Mr Strachan was very helpful with everything running smoothly. Cottage was lovely, with everything you need for a home away from home.
Hutton le hole is a beautiful village, the pub is a brief stroll away and serves super food and ales, with very friendly staff and locals. Little shops and cafes mean you can manage without a car if you really want, with walks from the door. Though there is many attractions a little further afield also.
Nb. No mobile phone reception in village, which was a plus for me, a minus for the Other half, but free wifi was available, as was a payphone in the cottage.

What a fabulous cottage and surrounds. The cottage is warm, comfortable and very well equiped. There is so much to do in the surrounding area too, I particularly enjoyed the steam train journey to the television set of "Heartbeat". The pub in the village is second to none with friendly staff, great food and a selection of fabulous local beers. Needless to say we have already booked for 2011 as the location at Greengate Cottage is unbeatable and child friendly too. Thank you so much.

My wife and I stayed at Greengates Cottage for a week and had the most delightful time. The local people are very friendly and the cottage is very well appointed. The surrounding countryside is magnificent and we would have no hesitation in recommending your cottage to anyone else. The cottage inside was very welcoming and friendly and cosy. There is a local pub just down the road from Greengates and is well worth a visit as it is in walking distance and serves excellent food as well as the local brew!
We would love to come and stay again, hopefully in the near future.
