The apartment is situated in Icici on the hill overlooking Kvarner bay and ACI marina. The nearest beach is blue flag beach in Icici and it is 5 min away by car (10 min walk). Part of the beach is sand and part concrete. There are various bars, barbecue, volleyball field, fun park for kids. It is possible to rent sun beds, umbrellas, pedal boats. There is also free Wi Fi along the beach.
Because of lush vegetation and mild climate, the tourist season lasts throughout the year.
4km away from Icici is Opatija, also called the pearl of Adriatic. It is one of most popular resorts in Croatia. Beautiful architecture, well maintained parks and mild climate have been attracting visitors for over 160 years. During summer it is a popular seaside resort and in winter months visitors come to enjoy the benefits of numerous wellness centers and to relax by taking a walk along the famous 'Lungomare' – a 12km long promenade by the sea that streches from Volosko until Lovran. Opatija is also famous centre for congresses. There are various events happening throughout the year for everybody's taste. In January/February Rijeka and Opatija are hosts for traditional carnival parades with rich entertainment program. In May there is sailing regatta. In summer months there are different music events and open air theatre. In October famous chestnut festival, and in December chocolate festival.
The mountain Ucka above Icici is a nature park, rich in flora and fauna. It offers numerous possibilities for hiking and climbing as well as cycling.
The gastronomy of the region is known for its fish and seafood specialities, as well as local olive oil and wines.
Icici makes a good base to explore nearby areas like islands in Kvarner bay – Krk, Losinj, Cres, that can be easily reached. Also beautiful villages in Istria, as well as its seaside resorts like Porec and Rovinj can be reached by car within an hour drive. Gorgeous Plitvice lakes national park is 2.5 hours away.
