San DiegoPerfection !
Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in November 2010
My family has been going to Idyllwild for 30 years now and working with Quiet Creek Inn was our best experience ever. Along with their excellent service...from things like the Idyllwild Town Crier[ town newspaper] waiting for us upon check in,emailing me back after I had booked to give me an even lower rate to having someone clearing the snow from our driveway !
The booking process, descriptions ,reviews and the photo's of the cabin were right on.
If I thought Mother Nature could be 'controlled' I'd think they even supplied the fabulous snow fall we had during our stay !
The cabin was welcoming, warm and so cozy. There was also plenty of room for 4 adults, 2 kids and a dog. The best part for us [ the grandparents] was a separate apt. type building that was attached to the cabin but gave you some place to go to have some R&R; once in awhile.
The yard was huge, fenced in and even 'supplied' spots to go sledding after the beautiful snow fall we had.
If a vote were to be taken for our favorite cabin over the last 30 years the Edelweiss Cabin wins hands down along with the excellent personable and professional service provided by Quiet Creek Inn.We're already planning on staying there again this year !

Southern CaliforniaCharming cabin in a wonderful area
Left on 07/31/2010 for a stay in July 2010
I had the very good luck to stay in the Edelweiss cabin recently. It is an incredibly well decorated, clean and charming cabin in a quiet upscale neighborhood. The entire very large property was fenced, which was perfect for my two dogs...they really enjoyed exploring the grounds. The cabin has two well equiped bedrooms, with a one bedroom guest house that is charming as well. Both bathrooms were lovely; one with a large bathtub and the other, in the master, with a shower and a sauna. This cabin was perfect for my needs and I loved my stay, but I would note that as a previous reviewer pointed out, the only tv in the house is located in the loft den that is right outside of the master bedroom (which has no door) and if you have children who are up early to watch tv, that may not be ideal. Also, I had no cell connection there...only a landline. That didn't bother me, but I could see how it might be a factor for someone else. Overall, I loved Edelweiss, and especially appreciate Jim and Mike at Quiet Creek...absolutely a first-class operation!

Two of us had the run of this great cabin for a wonderful weekend. We referred to it as The Lodge since it was so big - and yet cozy. Very quiet and very private. Next time we go to Idyllwild we'll try to stay here.

San Diego, CaliforniaDELUXE WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE!
Left on 02/21/2010 for a stay in February 2010
Wow, this was the best cabin experience we have ever had - EVER! Starting first with customer service. Jim and Mike were fabulous and friendly in recommending Edelweiss. There was still ample snow on the ground, plenty for sledding. The cabin has a large fenced off backyard perfect for snow play and dogs. Our labradoodle loved playing in the snow and we didn't have to worry about her running off since the yard was fenced. The cabin is in a wonderful neighborhood high up near Humber Park. The street has beautiful mountain homes. The cabin itself was very, very clean and the grounds very well maintained. Everything we needed was provided! The cabin is very much a log cabin with wilderness decor. It is so beautiful and cozy. The attention to detail and craftsmanship showed. Lots of love built into this home. The beds were great and the sheets soft. What I loved the most was the yard, we didn't have to drive to find snow, and the fact that there was a dryer was key! I would say my only tiny critique would be that there is not a door to the master suite which is next to the TV room. The kids got up early to watch TV each morning, making it tough for adults to sleep in after a day of sledding. However, when you are staying in a gorgeous cabin, who cares, we would come back in a heartbeat and will refer to all of our friends! Thanks Mike and Jim

was great for little-kid-sledding. -

CaliforniaGreat Group Cabin
Left on 11/26/2009 for a stay in July 2009
My brother, his son, and I spent five days in this cabin. We really like its layout, kitchen and location. It was close to Humber Park, but only a few minutes from down. The big deck was a plus. I would definitely rent this cabin again.

Los Angeles, CAIdeal Getaway Mountain Cabin
Left on 11/19/2009 for a stay in August 2009
This cabin was everything I would want in a mountain getaway. It is scenic
and rustic but with flair and style. The drive up to it is majestic, and is just a
hint at what awaits. It is remote in feel but yet easy to get to town and find
any needs away from cabin (i.e. a night at a restaurant). Personally I found I
did not want to venture into town; with a well equipped kitchen and a cozy
place to settle in and watch a nice fire in the awesome stone fireplace I was
in heaven. The beds are all comfortable and well appointed rooms, most of
which have views and open right into the outdoors. I found the house to
have everything one would want if they are looking for a rustic feel. The
owners also have their own sense of style woven into it that adds a bit of
whimsy and comfort. It truly felt like a home away from home. I was there
to celebrate a birthday with a couple of friends. Each had there own room
bathroom and privacy. The only problem was trying to contact or connect
with them as there is no cell phone service and it was a bit of a struggle to
get hold of them and guide them to the cabin. Other than that I had no
need for the daily trappings of cell phone or computer, after all this was to
be my rustic getaway.
The gentlemen who take care of everything at QC Inn and Vacation rentals
were extremely helpful and made sure I had good directions and were very
helpful in securing this home for me and setting me up with maps and
information on local events and trail info.
Another great advantage this home has is quick easy access to some great
hiking trails.
I hope I get the chance to get back to this wonderful place and hide out for
another few days again.
