Located 3 blocks from town and on Strawbery Creek. This property has a large fenced in yard with private access to the creek. There is ample space to lounge on either of the three spacious decks with great patio furniture or inside on the comfortable living room furniture. This cabin is very beautifully decorated and even though it is very modern it retains a cozy cabin like feel.

I originally rented this cabin for my 85 year old father and his wife for their anniversary present, but unfortunately my step mother backed out at the last minute and we changed the date so my sister could go instead. Needless to say it was my stepmothers loss and our gain, because we had a very relaxed time quilting for 3 day and we still took my father so he could have some family time with my twin sister. We were also able to bring our pug Hapalea too! We are happy to say we all had a great time! Thank you for the uses of your beautiful cabin!

We used Idyllwild Vacation Cabins based on a referral and couldnt have been happier. Martha and her Mom were helpful and sooo nice. The cabin was beautiful, really exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was fully stocked with name brand equipment, we didnt eat out once the whole time. The cabin felt set away from everything, but was only a short walk to town. Check in and check out were very easy and fast. We will definitely be staying here again, this is a new tradition for our family.

I have to start by saying that this cabin was not my first choice but after I spoke with Martha on the phone, she calmed my nervousness and addressed my concerns. We were traveling with our dog and it was important to us to have a fenced property along with several other factors we were looking for. Martha said this cabin would meet all our needs. She was so so right on! In fact, the cabin exceeded our expectations!
When I arrived on the first day I was greeted by a lovely woman who I assume is Martha's mother. She was very warm and welcoming. Soon after Martha arrived and she too was very friendly and welcoming. We went over any and all questions and she sent me on my way.
When I arrived at the cabin, I knew I was in for a wonderful and relaxing weekend. The cabin has a huge fenced yard and my dog was also in paradise. The Cabin has everything you will need; fire place, Sat TV, BBQ, and a fully stocked kictchen. The kitchen was especially important becuase my soon to be wife loves to cook. The kitchen was filled with up to date appliances, cooking utensils, and all the little things you would have in your kitchen at home. The night is quiet and cold so we slept like babies.
You can tell the owners of the cabin take pride in their home! Between the cabin, yard, along with Martha, the weekend couldn't have been better. Needless to say, we will be back!
Thank you again Martha! You were beyond helpful in making this weekend a success!

Don't want to rave too much for all you readers will have gone there and when i want to use it, it won't be available!
this is a one of a kind because the condition, floor plan, and location is the greatest. The home is a couples home that is filled with high quality appliances, furniture, marble, fixtures and more. The alkire house is a close walk to resturants and shops, yet not on top of them. Their yard is quite big. There is a real sense of "pride of ownership" that oozzes from the perfect floor plan to the quality finishes used when building the home. We felt we were staying in a "five star" hotel but better. We have rented many mountain homes but none come close to the classyness, comfort,charm and relaxation this one has. Now do us a favor and don't go there so it will be available when we want it! -

This cabin really delivers on so many levels. Very close to town yet still very quiet and relaxing. Our two dogs had a blast chasing squirrels for hours! The cabin is well appointed, no need to go into town for a thing. We highly recommend this cabin.

Martha, you hit it the nail on the head with this recommendation. . .Alkire could not have been any more perfect for my husband and I and our pups. The cabin is the perfect mix, beautifully appointed and completely comfortable, topped off with beautiful grounds and the perfect location!

Cabin was more than we expected it to be. It was a very homey cabin. The location was great because we could walk into town. Service was great too! A suggestion that would improve the experience would be a mid-week linen, paper towels, tp and towel exchange for those staying a full week.

We loved this cabin. It was cozy, clean, modern, comfortable and the perfect size for my husband and I and our three German Shepherds. They loved roaming the property and hiking along the creek. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was perfect - within walking distance to town. It was like home away from home. The Christmas decor was fun to see. It is a beautiful home.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the alkire Cabin. The service given to us by Martha was wonderful. My husband has a hip problem so she even helped load some firewood in his truck! The home was emaculate and had so many adorable decorations! Location was close to town, yet when out on the back porch, you feel a million miles away, with all the pine trees and huge oak trees. The little stream at the bottom of the property could be heard from the back porch, which was very tranquil. I would say, the best thing about our stay, was the freedom our two dogs had to wander the huge property, and with the chain link fence around it, we didn't have to worry about them escaping. The only thing that I wasn't aware of, was that the firepit (coalpit), was not in working order, and that although it lists having a laundry, we didn't have access to it. We also were not given a key to access the stream from the back yard. It really wasn't a problem, but I think we will ask about those things next time we come up...and...we will come up again! Loved it!!

We had a lovely stay in Idyllwild. The alkire home was fabulous. So perfect for our romantic retreat.
The home is in such a great location. Very private but only a few blocks from town. We totally had the best of both worlds.
This is my first experience in renting a home when traveling. I was happy I did. It is like being "at home" but on vacation:)
The manager, Martha is available by phone is you encounter issues. She is courteous and helpful.
I highly recommend this house. -

Home was so inviting, comfortable and warm. We really, really appreciated all the trees and decorations for our
Xmas season. Location was wonderful, close to town and
our favorite restuarants,especially Cafe Roma! Service
was excellent... Wonderful updated kitchen, would just
recomend afew more dish cloths and extra light bulbs to
replace three that were burnt out. -

My husband and I stayed at the alkire. The accommodations were amazing. There were far more things there than described and both my husband and I felt our vacation could not have been better. We had the opportunity to meet the owners, Chuck and Ellen, and that only made things better because they were such friendly and gracious hosts. Shower and bath were roomy. The bed and bedding were so comfortable. I am picky when it comes to mattresses and bedding, so for me, this made me feel like I was at home. The back yard was perfect for our two dogs. We brought our bull mastiff, Samson and our rescue pit, Roxanne. They actually behaved better than they do at home, so I think they were pleased too. The walk to town is in within a minute and makes it easy and convenient to enjoy Idyllwild. The view in the backyard was amazing, private, and peaceful. I told Chuck and Ellen the pictures do not do this place justice. Martha, our coordinator, could not have been more helpful. Thank you for making out experience so wonderful.

Martha was a great start to a relaxing 3-day weekend. The website and reservation process made it so easy to start. The home was outstanding! It was beautifully decorated, homey, and relaxing. It has absolutely everything a person could want! The fact that we could bring our dog was a bonus! Neither of us wanted to leave and return to our real lives! We enjoyed it so much, we immediately looked into a December stay, but we'll have to wait till next year!
When we couldn't figure out how to get the DVD player to work, Martha even came over and got it going for us! Great service!
We will definitely be reserving with Martha again, and hopefully at alkire on the Creek!

Our arrival at this wonderful home brought us the same feeling as seeing our us Open Seats did. We thought we had hit the Jackpot. Booking on line can always be sketchy, but from first glance the home was wonderful. Wonderful to cook, wonderful to sleep and wonderful for Scrabble. Of course, we packed too much stuff as this cabin already had everything that we needed. This cabin will always be special because it was the first time outdoor for our newly amputated family pet (bone cancer). It was his first chance to vacation. He navigated the yard and decks with such ease and enjoyed the outdoors as much as we expected. Wonderful home, wonderful Martha. We will be back.

My husband and I along with our two dogs just spent the best 4 days in this lovely cabin. We have been coming to Idyllwild for 10 years now and have stayed at one cabin for years in Pine Cove. When I called Martha I told her what we were looking for. She was spot on with her recommendation.
This cabin is perfect for a couple to get away...it is secluded, has all the amenities (Hdtv, WiFi, gourmet kitchen, AC) but yet not over the top. You still feel like you are in a cabin, but not without some of things we all enjoy.
The lot is huge, right on Strawberry Creek (the dogs loved the hike along the creek) as we did too.
This is our new place to stay for a long time to come.
Also, I should note Martha is awesome! I have never had this type of customer service in any of the other cabin rentals!

I loved staying for a week in Idyllwild. We had never done this before and it was great getting away from the hot desert. The home we rented was beautiful and well cared for. It had everything you could want. The service was excellent by Martha and her Mom.
We plan on coming back to Idyllwild.
