My husband and I were lucky to have been recommended Ferma Solaris apartments by some friends.
We normally go to the apokoronas region of Crete for our holidays but wanted to explore a different area and had been told about the individuality of Ferma Solaris and the cordiality of the owners.We were so glad that we went.
We have stayed in a wide variety of hotels and apartments all over the world and Crete continues to be our favourite but I can honestly say i have never before felt as much as a treasured friend on any other holiday because of the kindness of Lefteris and Yolanda.
As they are both bilingual it made it so easy to get information about the local area and Crete itself.
Ferna Solaris is a place for the discerning individual who wants something more than a typical holiday resort. If you are looking for banana boats and drunken parties , this is not for you.
The apartment was simple and immaculately clean with everything you could need to make it a home from home with the added benefit of your own terrace to enjoy the view.
This place is a photographer's dream. There is an uninterrupted view of the sea with its swirling colours of turquoise and blue. There is a private beach accessed by steps with many rock pools to explore.The ground is carpeted by a profusion of colourful wild flowers framed by the towering cliffs.
What can you hear ?Only birds and the sea breeze. This is Nature at its finest.
Go there and enjoy the ambiance. You'll be glad you did. -

Our stay in Ferma Solaris was perfect in many senses: great views, wonderful swimming pool, lovely gardens with flowers, the sense of hospitality from the owners, in short we did not miss anything and the small private beach is a plus if you have no car and are in good physical conditions as well as the beautiful swimming pool. I would not hesitate to come back another year and send my best friends.
Maybe a minor advise to Eleftheris would be to have a small supply of things such as coffee, sugar, sold, origano,honey, etc... at arrival and to make sure that people who sit at the nearby cafe do not disturb the relaxing silence by speaking loudly. We got that the following week and it was highly appreciated. Thank you for everything to Eleftheris and Yolanda who are both keen on many their guests happy.

Nous sommes partis en famille avec mon époux et nos deux enfants en bas âge (bientôt 4 ans et 2 ans) au mois d'août 2012. Nous avons pu trouver une location de voiture -indispensable- en arrivant à Héraklion grâce à Lefteris, notre correspondant à Ferma Solaris qui nous avait organisé cela malgré l'heure tardive d'arrivée (01h00 du matin). Nous avons roulé une heure et demi/ deux heures jusqu'à la Ferma Solaris où nous avons été reçu très chaleureusement par Lefteris. L'appartement était spacieux, propre et bien agencé avec un étage avec les lits d'enfants ainsi qu'un lit bébé prêté gentiment pour notre fils. Nous avons profité du calme et de la beauté du lieu pendant une semaine (mais c'est possible pour deux semaines aussi), c'est très familial et chaleureux. La piscine est géniale, entourée de pins et offre la possibilité aux plus jeunes de se baigner dans un petit bassin. Il y a également un accès à une petite crique privée très chouette. Il ya la possibilité de diner en face de Ferma dans un restaurant avec plat unique mais super rapport qualité prix et en plus les propriétaires sont adorables! (ex poisson au barbecue , moussaka etc). Vraiment top. Sinon plein de restaurants et tavernas aux alentours et des petits super marchés pour remplir le frigo en arrivant, et un bien plus grand et moins cher à Ierapetra (à environ 10km de Ferma, c'est rapide). Nous gardons un super souvenir de cette semaine à Ferma solaris!

A fantastic holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our trip, from the moment we got in touch with Lefteris via the internet to the minute we left. Lefteris and his sister, Yolanda, were the most fantastic hosts, we could not have wished for more.
Ferma Solaris appartments provide a clean comfortable place to stay with outstanding views over the sea. An ideal location from which to explore an amazing, pretty and peaceful part of Crete, so much to find and see. Lefteris and Yolanda were incredibly helpful giving us tips and advice even helped to arrange our hire car.
We have left this place with many, many happy memories, special treats which we found in our room, a trip on Nautilos to Chrissi island, hours spent looking for and finding fantastic isolated beaches and coves, even a little fishing trip with Lefteris, to name but a few happy memories that we have taken home with us.
Tonia, Antonia and Fillipos, of Fillipos apartments were also fantastic and very hospitable to us. A place very nearby, where we and other guests could spend happy evenings in their warm generous and friendly company, talking, laughing and having fun as friends.
Many, many many, thanks again to one and all, an absolutely fabulous trip, we will definately come back. -

After a two weeks trip on Crete, we stay in Ferma Solaris for a few days to relax on the south coast, with our two children aged 11 and 8. Ferma Solaris view on the Lybian sea is very amazing, and we greatly appreciated the swimming pool and the private beach (especially the few days when the win blew). Many thanks to Eleftheria and Yolanda Voyadjakis, who were very helpful and available !

We enjoyed the warm hospitality and generousity of Eleftherios and his sister Yolanda. Whenever we needed them (especially when our flight was cancelled because of the strike allover Greece), they really helped us a lot. It's not luxury, but a very quiet place where we liked to spend a lot of time on the private terrace with view on the sea - for breakfast, for dinner or just to study the sparkling stars.
The small private beach is ideal for snorkling, but you've to be aware of a steep path downwards. A car is recommended, if you want to discover other places outside of the little paradise.

This is a lovely place to stay if you want to get away from everything and relax. The owners are friendly and can't do enough to help - suggesting places to visit and recommending lovely local beaches, bars and restaurants. The only downside is that you do need a car to get anywhere due to the location on a windy mountain road. A great place to stay if you want to avoid the usual tourist traps and crowds. Lovely views and friendly,personal service that you would not usually get. Highly recommended as a get away from it all holiday destination.

This is a great place to stay and very comfortable to be with small children. The fridge is big which allows you to store everything necessary for the family without having to run to a supermarket every day. Our room was very clean but the shower needs improvement. There is a great swimming pool with a lovely sea view as well as access to a small and very beautiful beach. But what makes this place so great is definitely the owner. He went out of his way to make all of us feel comfortable and at home. He provided all the necessary things for my 2 months old baby be as comfortable as possible. He truly wanted us to enjoy and have a great time. I definitely recommend Ferman Solaris and I would be back in a near future, hopefully.

I have imagined and wished for a vacation on a beautiful Greek island since I was a child. Ferma Solaris fulfilled every dream I have ever had. I woke up early every morning and stared at the breathtaking sea from my balcony. My children really enjoyed the pool and the private beach. I often sit down and stare at the photographs we took while we were there and I am still stunned by the beauty of Crete. I am now daydreaming and planning my next vacation... which will be at Ferma Solaris!

The silence and peacefulness are very relaxing and recreative. We have visited Ferma Solaris a couple of times an we really love this place. The nature is still untouched and the view over the sea is beautiful. We appreciate the hospitality of Lefteris. Especially we enjoyed freshly baked bread in the morning!

We stayed for 10 days and had a great time. The apartment was very spacious, the views gorgeous, and the place was well taken care of. The owner Lefteris was very friendly, helpful and made us feel like a close friend rather than just another customer. We especially loved the private beach that can be accessed from the property. Beautiful-beautiful! Very peaceful and gorgeous scenery. The apartments are extremely clean and well cared for. They are quiet and well equipped. The people are friendly and extremely helpful. Eleftherios is a gracious host! Loved everything and can't wait to return someday!

I loved this place! It was clean and very comfortable. The service is way above par. The owners speak excellent English and several other languages. They will help you with whatever your needs are. Wifi and a computer are available so you will never be out of touch, and to add to all this is the sensational scenery and views of the Mediterranean Sea. A private beach and a pool and the friendliest people is about all you could wish for at this beautiful seaside location. Great rates and a quiet place to rest or get up and go sight seeing is all available so you can enjoy yourself at this wonderful vacation getaway.

My family and I had a memorable time. The site was comfortable, every amenity, and beautiful views. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. They recommended places to see and eat. When searching for a specific gift to take home they contacted merchants for us. We needed a rental car which they were able to arrange. Can't wait to return!
