Description from the owner

This is an original house built by the uruguayan architect Ana Beky Gabay few years ago completely sorrounded by the mata atlantica, 200 metres walking from a fabolous beach.A paradise of nature and tranquillity.

Itacarè is only 25 minutes by car and Ilhèus 15-20minutes.

I prefere not to accept last minute reservations, For a best staying in the house please contact me at least 7 days before your reservation.

There are 2 bedrooms, so there's space for 4 persons, a big living room, an open space kitchen, one big bathroom and a toilette, a small laundry space,a mezzanine, an outdoor terrace another big terrace on the roof.... 6000mq of mata forest with a short path.

there's another small house for the guardian of the Arcoiris.

He is the person will give the keys of the house.

Respect for all you find inside and outside the house:objects, furniture,plants.

For any need the guardian and his family can be really helpful.

At your arrival you'll find the house completely clean.

If you need other cleanings these can be agreed with the guardian and payed directly to him.

Sheets and towels are given clean and their cleaning after the stay are charged to the owner of the house.

washing of clothes can be agreed with the guardian ,payed directly to him and charged to the guests.

From Ilhèus:

continue north toward Itacarè Look for Km marker 25 100m after km 25 you'll see a sign for LUZIMARES on your right, at the opposite side there's a small dirt road road ( with a green house at the corner), TURN LEFT onto this road Go another 150m , passing 2 other paths to the right, until another sign: RECANTO DA PAZ. TURN RIGHT here and go just 30m , The house is the first property on your left. you'll see a big gate that leads into the garage area. Alternatively, you can NOT turn right at the RECANRO DA PAZ sign but continue, turning RIGHT at the first driveway. There are several houses on the left and the Arcoiris house is on the right with a small gate that enters into the rear area of the house. The caretaker, Joao, lives in the house that sits behind the row of houses to the left.

from the house which name is Arcoiris and itacarè ( you will drive through a wonderful road sorrounded by the green) there are some wonderful nature places to visit, beaches and falls. Car is indispensable you can easily rent one at the Airport in Ilhéus.:

Camamu town: it has still an african atmosphere . Just one hour by car more or less

Lagoa encantada : is about 10km before the house coming from Ilhèus You can go there by car and then go on a boat tour crossing the lagoa, there's also a fall and a tipical restaurant.

Casa da empada: it's an excelent restaurant ( saudade...) , a lovely place to have breakfast, or for an afternoon break. Here you can eat delicious typical empadas. It's only 2km and a half from the house. ( km 28 rodovia Ilheus- itacarè)

I also use a lot the bus when I'm there..The busstop is just at the corner of the small road to reach my house and it'is the one that goes to ilhèus. At the oppsite side of the main street ( rodovia) there's the busstop of the bus which goes to Itacarè.

The name of the bus is Rota it takes from 30 to 60minutes to get to ilhèus ( the same to itacarè) depending on the quantity of people, school time, traffic etc... This bus is very comfortable and clean, you buy the ticket when you get on about Rs 3,00- Rs 4,00 ( but it always changes depending on the charging man). Also you never know the right time it arrives at the busstop, sometimes it arrives when you expect , sometimes it arrives after an hour. There's also another bus to go to Ilhèus number 36, it takes much more time and it's even more tipical , sometimes it's unbelieveble crowded especially at school time.

So I really recommend to use the bus only for folk tours.

Itacarè is famous for the wonderful beaches, and in the evenings there are a lot of restaurants and parties.

IN Ilhèus where the famous brazilian writer Jorge Amado was born there are all the useful infrastructures: supermarkets
