      Paradise of beauty, friendship and simplicity

      Left on 11/09/2012 for a stay in January 2012

      After a busy and hectic work year, our deserved vacations began in a night flight to Bahia. We landed at Ilheus past midnight, travelled to the pousada in the dark road with a nice young taxi driver who guided us to our room through a sandy path lightened by the moon, and we were so tired thar fell asleep listening to the sea waves in a delicious king size bed.

      Then we woke up in Paradise! We found ourselves in an artistically handcrafted place, designed with a tastefull simplicity that respects nature and enhances the tropical landscape. Beauty and peacefulness welcome and embrace you all the time. We dived in a dreamlike world, walking at the beach, swimming in the sea, laying in a hammock in the wide varanda under the coconut trees, hearing birds and seeing colourful flowers.

      And the the delicious food from the land, carefully prepared using traditional recipies, with locally grown and healthy ingredients  -- corn and manioc flours, bananas, coconut and other tropical fruits.

      All this beauty, care and calm is hosted by Tereza, a cosmopolitan "bahiana" -- one wonders if she even inspired one of Jorge amado's novels. All these feelings only become deeper at the Yoga sessions she gives everyday, the opportunity of helping her organizing a generous new year's party, a visit to Ilheus...

      Does it seem like we strongly recommend this stay in Paradise? ;-)

      Being in paradise

      Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in December 2011

      We spent two weeks at Tereza's houses and it was the best holidays we could dream of. The place is amazing, absolutely superb. Everyday we would wake up and see the empty beach and coconut trees from the windows of our comfortable and stylish bungalow. Then one our yoga sessions, listening to birds, the ocean and the gentle breeze. Then breakfast. Everyday something different, cakes, fruits, juices, all home made. The new years party was also just splendid, a great vibe, lots of interesting people, great music and food. We came with three kids (our 1 year old boy and a couple of friends with a 3 and 5 year old girls) had the best time ever, and the place is super family/kids friendly. Just don't expect a cold, professional, standard, straight forward hotel service. Tereza welcomed us in her house as friends. Cannot recommend more.

      Hidden Treasure...priceless!

      Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in October 2012

      I stayed for two weeks at this idyllic outpost and it truly is a "Paraíso Verde",nestled amid tall acai and coconut palms,with four lovely elevated timber and glass houses fronting the beach.
      On one side of the large property,a lazy river spills gently across the beach to the sea; at low tide,the ivory sands seems to stretch for miles,with a cluster of quaint fishing boats at the southern arc of the bay..at night you are lulled to sleep by the soothing swells of the South atlantic,and by day there is always a cooling breeze.
      The service here is sublime..quiet,efficient,charming..great breakfasts and amazing specialty lunches and dinners prepared only with the freshest of ingredients..indeed a visit to the Ilheus market with Tereza early on a Saturday morning is an unforgettable experience for the sheer abundance and variety of fresh produce and fish...you can customize your own menu and learn all about the exotic and delicious dishes served in a cool,comfortable palapa.

      This is an ideal spot to refresh,recharge,and renew your bond with nature;
      u simply wake up feeling great..the rooms are very comfortable,everything is solar powered and works fine..indeed the property is conceived and managed on an environmentally responsible basis,and it shows in the finest details.

      The cool little surf town of Itacare is appx 30mins drive,so renting a car for a few days to visit there and other local attractions like waterfalls and cocoa plantation tours would be useful for longer stays.

      All in all,this place is a hidden treasure...perfect for a romantic getaway or a peacuful respite.
