This unique property is a cosy terraced former farm worker’s cottage that’s full of character and sleeps up to four people. This terraced cottage dates back over 250 years and has been furbished to a high standard to provide a welcoming holiday home with character. The kitchen is in perfect keeping with the cottage and has a lovely dining area and a decorative fireplace. The delightful lounge has the original inglenook fireplace and houses a wood burning stove. The stairs lead up from this cosy room to the two peaceful and tastefully decorated bedrooms, the bathroom is on the ground floor and there is a useful utility room on thi...s floor as well. The enclosed courtyard garden has seating, making it a perfect spot to sit and relax after a busy day’s sightseeing. This property is the perfect getaway for a holiday in this wonderful area.

Amenities: Electric storage heaters with woodburning stove in sitting room. Electric double oven and halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, LCD TV with Freeview, DVD player, CD/radio with iPod dock, library of books and games. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburning stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking for two cars on a first come, first served basis. Small enclosed courtyard with garden furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome at £15. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 8 mins walk. Note: This property is suitable for children aged 6 and over due to open tread stairs.

The village has several shops and a public house, and the National Cycle Route runs by the village so cyclists can explore the area on two wheels. There are National Trust properties nearby including Barrington Court and Montacute House, and a visit to Perry’s Cider mill is highly recommended. The world famous attraction of Cheddar Gorge is less than an hour’s drive away and the seaside town of Lyme Regis is also easily accessible. Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  We had a pleasant week at Wayside. It was very clean with a powerful shower. The kitchen was very well-stocked, and the beds were very comfortable.
  The only thing we missed was a garden area. I would prefer to stay somewhere, where I can sit outside. But all in all, a very pleasing experience.

  Everything you could possibly need was provided by this lovely cottage. It was clean, well provided down to the dog bowls and childrens crockery. Even a little welcome gift to start your holiday!! Really couldn't fault it.
