We were at first worried when we saw the outside appearance of the building. It could use some refurbishing, but once inside we were happy to find a large, comfortable and well equipped unit. It did take several calls to housekeeping to get sheets to fit the bed in the master bedroom. Other than that, we were satisfied with the price/quality of the place. The pool and close proximity to the ocean was also important to us.

The location of the condo on the second floor was good since the elevator was out several times during our stay. The area rug in the dining room was a disaster waiting to happen. The corners of the rug were turned upward so that you had to watch your step. The linen service needs to update their with the beds in this condo unit. This is the second year that no twin sheets were in the bag.
The rent is pricey but reasonable. I hope the weekly rent stays the same so that we can continue to vacation in Emerald Isle.Response from Emerald Isle Realty, Inc - 08/12/2012

We had such a relaxing stay at Summer Winds. The condo we stayed in was very comfortable. The only complaint was that the a/c didn't reach one of the bedrooms very well and that room was hot and stuffy. All the amenities we needed were provided. We used pools inside and out as well as the hot tubs.

Our unit was very clean and the Kitchen was well stocked cooking things. Check-in after 5 was easy and we appreciated the owners letting us stay for a shortened week. We loved our view from the balcony overlooking the pool and ocean.

Accommodations were comfortable and clean. Porch/balcony is somewhat small and can only handle a few people at most. Bathrooms nicely updated but hall bath does not contain a soap shelf in shower. This is a negative for older renters.

We had the opportunity to attend the wedding of a dear friends daughter during the summer of '09. We were first-timers to the rental scene as we always stay at this friends beach home in Emerald Isle. We were very pleased to find Emerald Isle Realty's comprehensive website and rental options. We researched, viewed and made a decision, then sat back and hoped it was the right one! Turns out Summer Winds was a hit! Our rental (C224) was super clean, stocked & had plenty of room for our gang. Pool facilities were very nice, staff was helpful and friendly and the beach was wide and clean. In addition, check-in & check-out was a breeze at the EIR office. Can't wait to go back! Thanks EIR!!!!

We had a very nice time and loved the unit. Our disapointment was when we arrived we had no toilet paper,or soap. Then we had to make the beds, and strip them when we left. I have rented condos all over the world and that was a first for me. No big deal, but when you arrive late and have already been to the store, that was a bummer. All in all a good time.

I am sorry to hear of your disappointment when you found linens but that they weren't already on the beds and that you weren't aware that soap and paper products aren't provided. While some of our properties do provide the bed making service and a starter kit of toiletries, most do not. We make all efforts to verbally express this when booking a reservation but we also include this information in the Vacation Info Guide which accompanies your rental agreement. I'm sorry you didn't see it and had to make another trip to the store.

The property was nicely furnished and clean. Lots of space for our family and safe for our one year old. Well stocked kitchen with gadgets, appliances and dishes. The beach was beautiful and enjoyable. We also enjoyed the workout facility.

Summer Winds is a unique fun experience for my whole family. Family members join use at various times during our stay. Our condo is very clean, nicely maintained and has great access to the many features offered at Summer Winds. We enjoy having an indoor pool as well as the beach and outdoor pools. The internet room is also a plus. The workout room, tennis courts, and club house offer amusement for all ages. All the members of our family which range from age 7 to 68 have a wonderful time each year. If you enjoy fishing, crabbing, swimming, siteseeing, the beach, and just plain relaxing, Summer Winds is the place for you.
