a january week in solitude was just what we wanted. a storm came in mid-week- it was perfect! we stayed in leisurewear throughout (read here pj's!) and had a stack of books...the only truly and very frustrating thing (and we are very"green" and energy-conscious people) was the lack of sufficient lighting at night to read while on the couches. the bulbs are definitely too "efficient" from that standpoint. otherwise, we had what we were looking for. minor problems with the kitchen overhead light and 2nd bath commode were attended to quickly and we had a great time...thank you.

Colony by the Sea was a very quite, relaxing place. Our condo was very spacious and clean with a great view of the ocean. The pool was very clean. Emerald Realty was very nice and hassle free. All the employees were very helpful and courteous. I would book thru Emerald Isle again. Thinking about coming back Thanksgiving.

The condo was so beautiful and spacious.We had a storm one day,blew the table right off the deck.We reported it,no problems or hassles.Left something behind,they dropped it in the mail the next day!

We really enjoyed our stay. it was a quiet peaceful week, which we really needed. We were there last year with our son and his family and it was great as well. we rented a house that time.
we are planning on renting through Emerald Isle Realty again next year.

My wife and I enjoyed two wonderful weeks at Cbts 212 with our two daughters. This is a great condo. Super location, view of the beach, and overall experience. We look forward to going back next year, our third year in a row.

The condo was great with it's location and amenities, however, we did have to call the main office for maintenance three times due to minor issues. This did not take away from our vacation experience. These issues were a mix up with the linen, the master fan should have been replaced, lights and smoke alarm batteries should be checked at all times. When called the main office alwasy provided fast service.

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 small children for the week. We absolutely loved the location and the condo. There are many things to see within driving distance such as Beaufort, Fort Macon, and the aquarium. Of course, there is also the option of putting on a bathing suit and walking down to the beach for some relaxation. Overall, we would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a great beach vacation.

My wife and I spent our 50th New Years Anniversary at this wonderful Condo on the Beach. VERY comfortable living! Two big sofas made our afternoon naps most wonderful with the sun shining in the large windows. The elevator was a godsend for us senior types.
Emerald Isle Realty was great with welcome package and excellent service. Attentive to our every need. Even New Years Party favors and horns to welcome in 2010.
Great value and wonderful get away. -

the beaches of Emerald Isle are among the most beautiful in the world. The first week of September is a great time to go - very uncrowded, but all the merchants and restaurants still in business, and eager to have customers. This condo unit was beautifully furnished and equipped - there was nothing we needed that wasn't already there.

The week at Colony by the Sea was great! The unit was well furnished and clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. The view of the ocean is beautiful. The unit is right on the ocean and it was easy to walk out onto the beach. Used the pool area as well. Both bedrooms were comfortable with tv/dvds in each bedroom. I would definitely rent this unit again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the condo--except we did have a Northeaster storm one night! There were a few minor leaks, which they came to see about immediately (We were right on the ocean front.) We were especially impressed with the caretakers of the place--very nice.
It was nice for 3 adults--not sure it would be good for more than that. Living room and kitchen would be okay, but Bedrooms are a little small. The small balcony was wonderful! -

We absolutely love this property!!! It has everything that you would need for a great vacation!!! It is nice and close to the ocean, has a great view from the unit, and is close to different things to do on the island!! We hope to continue to come every year and stay in the same unit!!!! We would highly recommend it to anyone...

We would have enjoyed this home, but definately had an issue. The door to the balcony was broken. Unfortunately, we stayed during a very windy week, and the wind howled through the door constantly. We called the management company Monday, and each day thereafter, but no one came until Thursday. Although the service person was very nice, and tried, he did not have the correct part to fix the door. He said it was on order, which meanth this was a KNOWN problem that was not disclosed. No communication with the Management Co. has been responded to. This property is ok, but make sure everything is fixed before renting!

I'm not sure of the exact nature of this issue but often in condominiums, repairs to the building are handled by the homeowner's association and this could be why there was a delay in getting the matter resolved.

I've been visiting Emerald Isle for almost 40 years - started renting Lazy H from Swintz Hayes when Emerald Isle Realty was at 2nd St. Usually go with/bring parents who are getting elderly. As their mobility has decreased we've sought more accessible accommodations. Colony by the Sea, with elevators, but not the high rise mentality, has worked out beautifully. We love the quiet view of the ocean, without any canned music. The property is clean, well maintained, and well stocked (except for the usual attrition to kitchen goods - but I know to bring my own favorites). We'll be back although wish the price didn't keep increasing.
