The entire staff of Emerald Isle Realty are true customer service specialists and the long term rental staff make all your dreams a reality. There are no un-wanted surprise fees and every question is answered in great detail. Ahoy There has become our favorite oceanfront rental. The home itself is beautiful, lots of open space, lots of ocean views and sounds. We loved drinking coffee every morning on the front deck, in our rockers as the dolphins so gracefully set the mood for each day. Enjoyed the private walkway to the beach for surf fishing. Loved every aspect of ahoy There and looking forward to making more happy memories in this lovely home.

We have stayed at ahoy There for 17 years. It is a comfortable cottage, beautiful view, close to restaurants and shopping, and would recommend to anyone. It is a nice place to kick back and relax.

Once again we had a wonderful stay at ahoy There. It was nice to see a few upgrades and repairs that were done since last year. The weather as always was gorgeous, the water-perfect. The beach is clean, the ocean was fantastic.
Emerald Isle is truly a wonderful vacation destination. With the upgrades, once we are settled in for the week we don't even leave the beach/house for much of anything except to pick up fresh seafood. Scallops in North Carolina are the best I ever get all year.
We chose not to go out to dinner this year only because we were able to purchase the finest quality seafood and meats in the local stores and prepare them ourselves.
We enjoy the privacy on the beach that we do not have in Delaware.
The only complaint I have is the water quality from the faucet. Maybe a filtration system would benefit the home.

This was my second time staying at ahoy There! I absolutely love this house! It has a huge porch with rockers (a must at the beach), a secluded walkway to the beach, it's secluded from Rt. 58. The house has had some updates since I stayed in 2006, new oven, stove, a/c, washer & dryer, flat screen tvs added in the rooms. But the interior is the same as I remembered, and that's ok with me because it's a big dinning room and living room combo with a well stocked kitchen. The staff at Emerald Isle Realty are terrific if there are any issues. We had a leaky faucet and they were out in no time! This house has a sense of history and that's why I love to come to ahoy There and relax for 2 weeks! It's close to the Crab Shack and Frost resturants which are delicious and full of history themselves. Great vacation house!

Ahoy There exceeded all of our expectations. Great house with lots of room for entire family to enjoy meals, beach, fishing, tv time and more. Entire home was beautiful and the views from every room breath taking.

If you are looking for fancy and like new, forget it. The house is old and shows the years of wear. However for a couple of seniors seeking a quiet and private spot on the beach it was extremely comfortable. The pluses were the large master BR, the well equipped kitchen, the covered front porch, the large flat screen TV and the great view. The only minuses were the small and dated bathrooms and the driveway that had recently beeen covered with small stones. They were difficult to walk and drive on. We enjoyed our two weeks and hope to return to ahoy There! in 2012.

Our only complaint about ahoy There is the incredbily complicated TV system. Once again, we had to call the realtor to send someone to get everything up and running. Every year we finally learn how to work it, and every year they seem to change it But this is a minor quibble...

We love the location and the view. The layout of the cottage is great. The walk from the cottage to the beach is not far and the view is absolutely spectacular. We enjoy coming here every year and have been coming to ahoy There since 1993.

Our family has been coming to Emerald Isle for 28 years. During that time, we've stayed in a number of cottages. We love ahoy There! because it is an old-fashioned beach cottage with a fantastic dune deck. The kitchen is well stocked and the cottage has plenty of space.

We loved the views, location and features of the property. The one problem is the mosquito population. It made sitting on the deck after sundown and before sunrise very uncomfortable. During the hours when the sun was up the deck views are second to none. You just had to go indoors at night. Morning coffee on the deck was an excercise in bug slapping too. With some maintenance on the shrubbery and eliminating the water ponding and moisture issues under the house these conditions should improve. I write this hoping the owner can clear up this problem and we will be back next year

Upon arrival we found the space very private and comfortable. Anticipation of the week ahead excitedly swirled among us. We rode bikes or walked for miles on the beach in the morning after coffee. One morning we saw dolphins. Accomodations were perfect for eating in and cooking/grilling. Moonlit walks on the beach gave us a perfect view of the milky way and shooting stars. The water was a little rough but warm and enjoyable. Emerlad Isle is our favorite family beach destination! Thank you.

We had beautiful weather. Hot but the house stayed really cool when we were inside. No aC problems at all as we have gotten with other rentals in hot weather. My son and his girlfriend came down for a few days. It's nice that the master bedroom is isolated to the other side of the house so we all had privacy. It was a very enjoyable vacation at ahoy There. We have tried other homes but always come back to ahoy There if available. We actually picked our vacation to the availability of this house since we love it so much!

The house was well suited for our stay. It was well appointed and conveniant to everywhere we needed to go. Since it was the weekend of the Seafood Festival, we had a great time. This was our second time staying at Ahoy there, the first being July 2000. We loved it then and we loved it this time. The weather was beautiful everyday. The home is set up very nicely with plenty of room. The new TV was a hit with my family. The house is perfect location for us nice and quiet and not over populated on the beach. The trees at the drive need to be cut back we missed the turn the first time and had to turn and go back. We couldn't see the street numbers. There were alot of ant in the kitchen but we kept them sprayed with spray. I would recommend those clicker things that they have out to help with bugs, they really work well. Those few things will NOT keep me from renting Ahoy There again. We are already thinking about next year. It is priced reasonably well. Over all we LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have stayed at Ahoy There for the last 3 years. The property has been constantly improved. Any maintenance problems we have had have been taken care of promptly. The cottage is well stocked with kitchen utensils, appliances and the temporary beds. The cottage is located on a nice part of the beach. It is not isolated but far from crowded. The beach is good for walking or for the kids playing in the sand. It is located near good restaurants. Parking beats any other place we have stayed. The charcoal grill is the quality you would find at a state park. The porches are well constructed and roomy. The deck halfway to the beach is great for family get togethers at sunset. The washer and dryer helped reduce the amount of clothes we had to bring. We did have a little trouble with the washer on permanent press and the spin cycle made the washer jump around. The linen service really reduced the things we had to pack as well. We had more than enough linens for the week.
If there are any negative points they would be: The driveway is hard to locate the first few times we went. We ended up putting our own marker at the entrance. The steps going up to the front door are almost too narrow for carrying luggage, coolers etc. The bunk beds are not very practical for our family mix. Kids don't seem to like bunk beds like my generation did. I would switch to single beds in that room. The big screen TV is nice, but needs to be place diagonally in the corner near where it is to cut down on the glare from the ocean view windows. The closet for the master bed room was so full of roll away beds we could not hang clothes in there.
All together we have stayed at Emerald Isle properties for over 22 years. This year we had more trouble getting through on the phone to extend our stay and getting waited on at the counter. There were noticeably fewer reservation agents on duty. The agents there were very professional, efficient and attentive to our requests. -

this is a lovely ocean front home with great views of the ocean. The home has been updated very nicely, new stove top oven, and microwave. The outdoor deck by the ocean is a great place for sunbathing. we will definitly be returning for many more great times.
