Our family loved our week at Janus. We have stayed in houses in the area seveal times, and Janus was one of the better for our family. It acutally has more than the 4 bedrooms advertised, and allowed us much flexibiltiy in sleeping the kids and adults. The extra bedrooms were a big plus when you have 6 kids in the house. The house is a bit worn, but still nice and comfortable. The walk to be beach is easy, and nice walking through the dunes.

Our month at Janus was excellent. The location was great, we could see the beautiful sun rises and sun sets from the deck. My grandkids were down for Thanksgiving and the closeness to the beach allowed us to observe them even when we were not on the beach. The house has much more space than is evident from the listing. We puchased the lenen service for the month which was well worth the cost. Again a great month, I would recommend the house to anyone looking to get away for a while.
The only negative is the steps leading to the beach are in need of an upgrade and the grounds needs some work.
Last but not least the service we received from the agent was great, she was very helpful in answering our questions and working through the detail for a month long get away! Thanks for a great time!Response from Emerald Isle Realty, Inc - 01/31/2012

The outside grounds were overgrown and unkept. The lock on the front door was almost broken (one in our party was locked out for a half hour, and the last one to leave struggled to open the door). Blinds were broken. Things were relatively clean, but there were dead bugs in at least one bedroom. Overall, it felt like a cheap roadside motel.

I've rented this same property for the last 8 years. It's a nice house for the price. The location is good. My only issue is the lack of a wooden walkway to the beach. We has several older people in our group. They find it difficult to get to the beach. We may need to change houses to accomodate them.

We have rented this house for the last six years running.For the rental, it's a great deal. The house needs serios work on the street side deck. It also needs a boardwalk to the beach. We will rent this house again and hope there are some changes to the home.

We really like the house as it well suits our family and has lots of bedrooms. But it is older and getting run down. The outside shower, which we enjoy using, is dirty. The decks, espically the one facing the street is really old looking. The house is generally "aging in place" and could use some TLC or upgrades.

This was the fourth time we returned to Janus with our extended family to celebrate the Christmas week. We love the location and the house had room for everyone. It feelfs like a home away from home. Emerald Isle Realty was quick to respond to our questions and concerns. A few of the beds are not very comfortable and the coffee maker needs to be replaced, that was our only concern.

We have had this house for the last 4-5 years and like it. It has some real cleaning issues,door jams to the lower level,carpets need cleaned,windows.The front srairs are in need of major work,rotten timbers nail heads sticking up to trip on.
