i am writing this short review as i wrote one about a week ago from another email address and it still has not appeared!
This is a dream of a place as you are right on the beach. The house is clean and the air con just about works which is great as the humidity and heat was difficult for us pale faces from the north we had a great time chilling out and lots of Bbq's either on the deck or the beach in the evenings.
However the house needs a serious refurbishment. Taps dripped or didn't work, there was no hot water supply to one of the showers and one of the hand basins. there was 20 light bulbs not working, the bed-linen was washed out and gritty from age. The rails on the back deck are coming away and are potentially dangerous if you have kids (we didn't) a ceiling fan wasn't working, the kitchen equipment is a collection of jumble sale items ... and horror of horrors there was only 2 wine glasses! I could go on and on.
We made the management company aware of the problems an hour after checking in and they did offer to have someone come and check the air-con and they sent someone to fix a door latch. Oh and the outdoor furniture you see in the photos is not there and what is there is old and way past its sell by date.
Still a magical place though just a pity the house isn't in better shape. -

There are a few amazing things about this property -
It is in a truly stunning location as it is right on the beach... 30 miles of white powdery sand overlooking the warm waters of the gulf of Mexico. We fell asleep and woke up with the sound of the waves, we watched the most amazing sunsets, we had bbq's of fresh fish lazing on the deck on balmy moonlit nights. This has to be the best chill out holiday ever you will really be able to relax properly if you go there.
But the other amazing thing is that this house had not been maintained for years yet it cost us $1,400 for a week - i have paid less for much more superior houses elsewhere.
The faults are too numerous and it would be boring to read them all but rusting, broken, faded, dripping or missing might be the best way to give you an idea of the general state of repair. That said the house was clean and the the air conditioning worked reasonably well though it was a bit slow to start up which was scary given the heat and humidity outside. We reported the faults an hour after we arrived and the company did offer to come and check the a/C but we reckoned it was adequate and they sent someone to mend the back door latch. Really lovely place but expect to be roughing it a bit. by the way the nice outdoor furniture on the deck in the photographs can be found at the back of the basement rusting and broken they have been replaced by other rusting metal chairs whose seriously faded cushions will be inside when you arrive - but we still managed to enjoy ourselves and as its such a lovely place. - by the way i only noticed on our last day that the railings on the deck which overlooks the back yard are coming away and could be dangerous do if you go there, especially with children be careful.Response from Sun Vista Reservations - 10/10/2011
