MichiganGreat location...but a few snags.
Left on 04/08/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Booked this "beach view" "villa" (#7) for Easter week in January, directly with the realty/mgmt. company, Beach SVR. Arrived to find that the 2BR/2Ba, was neither a beach view or 2 baths. It is located behind a building of beachfront villas, and it is beach accessible if you walk under the front (stilted) building, which could have been OK, had it not been for the one bathroom. As we were a group of 6 (2 families, each with 1 child), we immediately knew that this setup wouldn't work for us...mainly because the only bathroom was in one of the bedrooms! The other "bedroom" doesn't even have a closet.
I immediately contacted the manager, who informed me that "this is an error on our website", and that she was sorry, but they were completely booked for the week. They did offer us a better rate, but the setup simply was not adequate for our group. I asked about the other 2BR/2Ba in the beachfront building that was not occupied (but also listed on their website!), and was told that it was no longer available as a vacation rental, as it is now privately owned. She could not explain why al of this inaccurate information was still on the website. I asked her to please check with other agencies to see if she could find something, which she did. We were moved the next day to another property about 1/4 mile down the beach (Shore House), a beachfront condo that was wonderful! We are actually considering renting it for a month next year!
In all, Bella Vita #7 would be fine for a small single family, given the bedroom/bathroom setup. The beach location is wonderful, even if you cant really see it from the unit. Dolphins and stingrays seen all the time. It was clean, had beach chairs, all the kitchen gadgets, etc. They could easily add a 2nd bathroom directly across from the 2nd bedroom, just off the living room. I'd definitely recommend renting #10, which really is 2BR/2Ba beachfront with a fabulous deck/balcony.
I was very pleased with Jocelyn's response to our concerns, and her hard work at finding us suitable accommodations during a very busy week, and would definitely recommend them. I would strongly suggest that they update their website to accurately represent the property. They represent/manage many properties, and are quite responsive via phone/email. Even though our vacay started out a little rough, the rest of the week was fabulous (except for the one day of rain!) Thanks again to Jocelyn.
