We received a warm and efficient service by WhereInRio The apartment was consistent with the previously received descriptions (just forgot to say that is on the 4th floor without elevator). The apartment is inside but has good natural light and is well equipped for the holidays. WhereInRio team with Frederic in command gave us excellent service, very good checkin - checkout and many additional options. We are also very grateful that we forget documents and personal effects and sent it to us immediately. WhereInRio Congratulations!

We were 3 guys staying for 5 days, we could not find a hotel suite with 3 rooms so we opted with an apartment instead. Email contact was average (a few hours-1 day turnaround) however Skype contact was a godsend: Instant answers to our many questions. Upon arrival it took about 15mins to finally get in contact with them to let them know we were on our way. The cab ride was about a 70 $R.
The pros where: Superb location: 2 min walk to the beach, 5 mins for local restaurant options, 5 mins for Chase bank and american Express (convenience/retail store), 10 minute for supermarket and cash-exchange. Free Wifi and they also provided cell phones for local contact amongst ourselves and to contact the owner - a 6 $R charge at the american Express and we were in business! Service was also great: we had a problem with the water heater and within 5 mins someone was there to fix the issue. We did not have an issue with noise.
The cons were: walking up 3 flights of stairs (you will get a healthy workout), and the hot water system wasn't friendly (either very hot or very cold).
We were very pleased with this apartment and the company, wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use again! -

We really enjoyed our stay in our apartment in Ipanema. It was in a great location - close to the beach and to the shops. Didn't find much nightlife nearby however. The apartment was decorated really nicely and had plenty of space for the 5 of us. The only negative point I would make is that the showers didn't work very well... Very hard to regulate the temperature so it was either roasting hot (scalding) or freezing cold. Perhaps this has been fixed since we stayed though as we mentioned it on check out to the company.

A hassle with emails back and forth (had to send 3 emails to whereinrio to get my questions answered) but the apartment itself is very comfortable, spacious & in excellent location. Would return!

We were 5 adults and a 4 year-old boy and everything was perfect. The apartment is confortable, very clean, with enough space for everyone and it's well-located near the beach, the subway and a supermarket. Nothing bad to say about it, totally recommended ;)

We stayed here for 3 nights, 5 of us in total. The apartment totally met our needs - great location and a good size. Negative points: it can get a bit noisy at night, so bring your earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Also, the apartment is up 3 flights of stairs and there is no lift, so be prepared if you have a lot of luggage! We were due to check in at 11am and nobody turned up until after we phoned (over 30 mins later) but on the plus the staff were very helpful, especially when our friends were delayed with half of the cash for the stay and the cash machine decided to stop giving us money!!!
All in all, I would recommend the apartment, and commend the staff on their (eventual!) good service. -

After numerous searches for hotel accomodation in Rio, I found the options limited and expensive. Coming across this property and more importantly WhenInRio, gave us an opportunity to experience Rio, like a local. The location is the real plus at only one block away from the famous and safe Ipanema beach and close to all the cafes and resturants. The apartment was tastefully decorated, comfortable and a joy to relax. Irene from WhenInRio was a gem and we had a most the passionate welcome to Rio we could have received.
Just some considerations regardling this property.
1. Apart. was on the 3rd floor and building had no lifts.Was only an issue when we arrived and left because we had a large amount of luggage.
2. There are no views from the apartment, which wasnt an issue for us.
We would gladly make this our accomodation base when we visit Rio again soon.
