Love our annual ski weekend and coming to stay in Pinehaven!

We have stayed here many years now and it has become an annual trip for our group...so much so that our youngest child had a countdown calendar! Pinehaven meets our needs with multiple young families. We're able to shift between the upstairs and downstairs prep areas throughout the day. The pinball table wasn't there anymore, which would've been nice but not a necessity to enjoying the weekend. At night, we could send the kids down to play while adults visited upstairs and when kids shuffled to bed the adults could take over challenging each other at a game of pool. Sauna was a great way to heat up from a day skiing and kids made it to the lodge for a swim also--getting more towels was easy and prompt. With the kids getting older, we loved the convenience of being slope side and great conditions that our weekend provided. Can't wait to return to Pine Haven next season.
Another great ski weekend!

The extended family had another great experience at Powderhorn...the littlest grand kids were able to enjoy the easier slopes, and the millenials enjoyed the tougher ones. We had 5 inches of new powder (as we usually do at powderhorn!) and the staff at the hill were always helpful, pleasant, and with an eye for safety on the slopes. Housing folks also very helpful and prompt if there is car trouble, needs or questions. We find the ski in-ski out chalets ensure each of us can eat, warm up, or take another few runs as we like. Great sledding in front of the house, too. Read more

Great accommodation for large group

The place is great for large group. Three levels allow for some to sleep in, some to stay up late. Pool table is a nice feature. Ski in, ski out is a favorite of everyone.
2013 First Time in 20+ Years, Wow!
Left on 01/31/2013 for a stay in January 2013 | Andy
Well, let me say that the service hasn't changed in all the years we have been coming to Powderhorn and Pine Haven. We were actually one of the first renters when Pinehaven was built back in the 80's and have been coming back almost every year since. Check the records, we probably only missed 3 or 4 years since this unit was built.
This year was "the first" when we were not able to ski out! Wow, all these years and somewhere close but this was the only time in all those years we picked a weekend that we had to walk to the lifts. Are we lucky or what? I suppose it happens more than I realize so we are very lucky.
If we didn't like the home we wouldn't keep coming back. Nice upgrades to the furniture, Tv's and carpet. Thank you! The tube showers and drains need work, the Pin-Ball machine didn't work, the garbage outside was still there from the previous renters and the cupboards still had food in them from past renters which we had to throw out since we didn't know how old the bread, chips etc. really were. Salt, pepper, and seasonings is one thing but bread and chips is another thing.
The three different levels accommodates different activities for the 10 or 12 people to do what they wish and the sauna is nice. A hot tube would be absolutely wonderful after a long day of skiing as we get older. Started renting from Bpla in 1983.
We will be back and appreciate the loyalty program on Pinehaven. We are collecting deposits for next year already. Just awaiting our "certificate" to see what kind of discount we'll be eligible for and I'll be able to set the budget for next year. We would have made 2014 at check-out but they couldn't tell me what are discount would be. We'd be happy to put a deposit down that day of check-out if we have some idea what our costs will be for the next year right away. It's easier to get deposits that weekend while everyone is having a great weekend.
Sincerely Pleased and Looking Forward to Next Year!

Been skiing with my kids since my oldest was 5, now 25. Total of six childern and don't forget the friends that came along. Wonderful time had by all, not much snow, but the family memories we shared with out last me. Pine Haven very nice chalet and the chalet warming plate of select cheese where greatly appreciated during a saturday night nfl playoff game. Expected a working pinball machine and bumper pool table as advertised to find only a pool table which I hold the undefeated title to. We will return for sure, Thanks for everything, Jack

Pine Haven is like a second home for our family of about 15-20, depending on work schedules.
We were disappointed that the ski run serving the house was not open.
Great ski place

We had to call for water as it was out when we arrived.
No towel service was disapointing for what we pay per night.
Other than those items we have been staying in this unit since it was built. Would love to see some sort of loyalty program that allows the use of open units on weekends for a real minimal price for those of us that continue to fill your trail side deluxe units year in and year out. The rate should be no more than a local hotel. Email us the week of availability the units available at hotel prices per night. Only those that have brought $10,000 of rental fees to your lodging association in the past years. Your owners should agree to this at their normal percentage.

Great place for a large group of guys to stay. Plenty of beds. We needed 11 of them. Could be upgraded a little, very dated and dark. Maybe a hot tub. We enjoyed the pool table and the card table. The bumper pool table needs to go very bad shape and the pinball machine has a mind of it's own. Well stocked for cooking. We like the idea of the 2 refridgerators. We always have a large group so the multi-levels worked out great. This was our 25th year and would definitely stay in Pine Haven again.

The rental unit is a great ski in ski out location.
The unit is some what runned down and needs an upgrade -
Big screen TV, Billards table and game room needs upgrade, furniture and bedroom furniture is average at best. Kitchen utensils and plates are good. Experience at check in is always great. Our 27th year in a row for coming to the Mich.Upper. Our age range 32 to 71 years of age.

We had a great time, however here are a few suggestions. The double beds should be queens, our first sheets did not fit and we were sleeping on the mattress in the morning. Coffee pot was bad, they are inexpensive to replace. Blinds could not be fully opened in living and dining areas. Baths should be updated with shower heads that are much higher, the fireplace damper was broken and larger tv's would be appreciated. How about larger coffee mugs?

Pretty Good, but first floor issue
Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in January 2010 | Milwaukee Riblets
We always come to this home and enjoy it very much. It is clean and a good size for our group. The only issue is that we really couldn't use the first floor for entertainment as the pool table was missing two balls and the pinball machine was not working. Both of these are items we've used in the past and it did affect our stay negatively. Please have both of those items fixed. Thank you.
