We have stayed here at the Quiver Inn 1 in the past. We love Powderhorn lodging! The Quiver has everything we needed. We love that we can ride our sleds right to the trail an back at the end of the day. The shuttle bus is a great bonus to staying there as well... They are so nice. We stayed for 4 nights and never had to start the truck once! Great times at the Quiver with friends!

Nice Time at Big Powderhorn
Staying at the Quiver Inn while skiing in the up Michigan!

We enjoyed our stay at the Quiver Inn over New Years. It is located only a few blocks from the Powderhorn ski chalet and very walkable. There is also a great shuttle system at Powderhorn that picks you up anytime to the ski hill or a couple nice restaurants.
The Quiver has 2 nice size bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a really nice shared hot tub with the apartment next door. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. When you sit in the hot tube you are surrounded by beautiful birch trees and pines and you can see the ski hill through the trees and it feels very secluded. They provide towels and everything for you. The only thing difficult for us was we have 2 teenagers who won't sleep in the same bed and there isn't a pull out couch in the livingroom and Queen/double beds in the bedrooms so one kid slept on the floor. It would be nice if there was another single bed in one of the bedrooms or a pullout downstairs. You can request a rollout I think from Management but I don't know where you'd put it but you could probably make it work. We enjoyed our stay and everything else was perfect. Clean, etc. We would stay again! Thanks for the additional favor, too, Quiver owners!! We forgot to write a note in the guest book before we left!

We enjoyed our stay there. Everything was clean and the place really worked out great. It's great being in the woods and so close to the ski hill, too.
Had a great time as usual!

We love the Quiver Inn! It is very spacious, has a wood burning fire place, and a great outdoor hut tub! We will be back.
Nice comfy place to stay

I always enjoy having the amenities that come with a place like this as opposed to a hotel room. Full kitchen, TV in living room and both bedrooms. Cd/cassette boombox. Hot tub shared with adjacent unit. Only 2 blocks to the base of the hill. Very comfortable living space. Overall, I would stay again.
A couple negatives- The bathtub had rust coming off the drain and into tub for the first couple showers- not pleasant. I suspect it was because it was the first usage of the year, as it did stop with more showers, but this should be checked. Also, fireplace not working properly. Checked to make sure flue was open, and it was. Worked initially, but then started getting a lot of smoke coming in. Had to open doors to clear. The place could be updated a bit, but overall, very cozy and comfortable.
Great little house for the 4 of us!

We had a great stay. The wood fireplace was nice but the wood took a while to get started with only large pieces of wet wood. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to make meals. We were able to ride from quiver to the trails and back.

It was me (43 yr old male) and my two boys. Joe is 6 and Max is 5. As we pulled up to the unit I was very pleased as this was our first experience at Powder Horn and I really didn't know what to expect. It was very clean and I thought well decorated. We loved the two patio doors which allowed good light to come in. I loved the satelight tv. Both boys loved the hot tub which was used numerous times throughout the weekend. And we made a fire in the fireplace everytime we got to the unit. Including mornings. All in all the place was fabulous.
I'm not sure if you are also curious about the shuttle service and ski resort too or not. But if you are I was amazed at how fast the shuttle was. It was literally 3 minutes away no matter where we were. And although the skiing wasn't great due to the rain, etc. the staff was wonderful. My one son had to go up the lift by himself and the lift attendant would always slow it down and help him up and made sure he was safe. We will definately be making this an annual family tradition.

The accommodations were clean. The hot tub was working great. The distance to the chalet and ski hills was walkable. The shuttle service was very reliable.

It was so relaxing sitting in the hottub while snow was piling on the top of your head. It snowed over a foot during our stay. The Hot Tub is definately the greatest aspect of the unit.

Do not trust the booking agents here, they are obviously being paid a hefty commission to fill the rooms. let me tell you about our nightmare, 1st we had booked a spring ski vacation with the lodging association. I called the week before we were to check in to verify the ski conditions were still good, (they were starting to come apart 60*f and rain)and oddly enough when I called in to ask she told me that she could not tell me how they were. Yet the lodging association sits at the bottom of run 4 with a spectacular view of the hill. She told me I would have to contact the Powder Horn directly which I was initially lead to believe they were part of. Anyway we finally rescheduled the trip for December of 2010, well now the wheels are really falling off the wagon... apparently the opening weekend does not necessarily mean completely open just like the past 30 years of business the Powder Horn is not fully functional until the second weekend. We booked a family vacation with the understanding the kids would be able to swim at night play mini golf and my wife and I could enjoy an adult beverage, nope it seems to be common knowledge that they truly do not officially open until the second weekend of the ski season. If it were not for the wonderful people at Powder Horn ski hill I would be filling out a deposition with my lawyer. The General Manager of Big Powder Horn Kevin, had heard about our disaster and even though it was not his problem he tried to help us the best he could. He did a great job and should be commended for his efforts in this matter. The ski hill has some of the best employees we have ever encountered and they all did their best to help us out. By the way our room was very clean and we had no problems with it. Please keep in mind the only true problem was the booking agency we believe we were intentionally miss lead..
We are glad that Kevin was able to help. We at Lodging work under the same impression that "open" means "open". We at Lodging will work more closely with the Ski Hill to be assured our guests are served as advertised.

Nice cozy place close to the resort. Hot tub was welcome relief after a long day of snowboarding. Very nice owners who own the building.

Cool Place - but only with the Outdoor Hot Tub. Otherwise just a 2 Bedroom 1 1/2 Bath Duplex close to the slopes. Hot Tub made the difference.

We were very happy with the two bedroom duplex that we stayed in. Everything was in clean and working order. We stayed over New Years and we could see the fireworks from the back of the duplex. The lodging office was extremely accomadating to all our needs.
