Munich, GermanySoon to be an amazing holiday location
Left on 09/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012
First of all, Nicola is a really nice guy who explained us everything we needed to know and provided us with restaurant recommendations. All in all, we had a great stay and will return if possible. In a nutshell:
PRO:
- Amazing view of the balcony (apart from crane)
- There is absolutely everything you need in the apartment (toaster, iron,...)
- Free WiFi (eventhough only via 3G it is very fast)
- Basic cooking stuff provided (oil, salt,...)
- Very modern and beautiful flat
CONTRA:
- There is still construction work going on (~ 8.00 - 18.00), therefore over the day the balcony is not 100 % enjoyable. On the other hand, we have been out visiting the area all day long, so this is not a problem.
- The apartment is a bit in the middle of nowhere, therefore you need the car all the time. Walking down to the lake is impossible (or rather getting up again...).
All in all, I definetly recommend the place and as you can see in all the reviews, Nicola is taking the feedback very serious.
Thanks for a great stay! -

Nick met us at the ferry terminal in Tavernola and took us to the apartment which had the most amazing views (we soon managed to look past the crane). I had recently had to change my diet and Nick very kindly tried to ensure I had the food that I needed - it was much appreciated. Apartment is lovely and we had many evening meals on the balcony watching the sun set. Only thing that would have been helpful was a fan in the apartment to help keep it cool. Went round the lake on a boat (the commentary in English was limited) and by car. Lovere (in the north) was nice, as was Sarnico in the south.
Thanks Nick for a great start to our holiday.Response from nick - 09/23/2012
Owner
Hello Bernadette
thank you for your review. Your suggest is important as helpes me to make my guest’s stay more and more comfortable. Indeed, about the fan, this is one of the improvements that I want to make available for the next summer season. I’m sorry if you didn’t feel comfortable with that hot. I have to say that, during your stay, in Italy we unfortenately had the warmest summer ever, with temperatures around 45 degrees for weeks. Lake of Iseo, that is usually cool and windy, has not been avoided from this peak of heat. And this caused the early foliage of many trees. Thank you for your suggests and I really hope to see you and Chris again next year!! You will be very welcome back!!
Wish you all the bests!

Stayed for 4 days. Very easy to book and Nick met us at ferry terminal and guided us up to apartment above Tavernola. Beautiful location and amazing views as you can see from photos. Apartment is new and finished to a high quality and well equipped and very clean. Spent a day on the lake and rented a boat from Serena in the nearby town of Predore (00393204437362), wonderful day going around the lake. Also loved village of Sarnico on south end of lake. In Tavernola La Torre resteurant next to clock tower in village has great pizza pasta etc. Apartment is ideal for 2 but as a family of 4 it was a little small. Also at the pool you have to bring your own loungers but we did not see any in the apartment. However these are minor concerns. 5 star experience overall.

Hi Terence and Margaret
I was really very pleased to having met you and your kind sons. I'm sorry for having not provided the loungers. You are very right about it, they can make a big difference when relaxing at the pool. I will absolutely provide some for the next guests. I was surprised on how clean and perfect was the apartment when you left. Thanks again and you are really very welcome again whenever you want to come!!

EdinburghA beautiful apartment with beautiful views
Left on 06/23/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed here for 5 nights and could not have enjoyed it more. After driving from Milan Malpensa, we met Nick at the ferry boat station in the town and then he kindly guided us to the apartment up on the hill. We were able to park our car just at the entrance to the apartments which was ideal.
The apartment is a good size and modern with a well equipped kitchen and everything you could want or need whilst on holiday including a washing machine and wi-fi. The bed was very comfortable and there was a lot of storage as well. The balcony was fantastic as it had uninterruped views of the lake which was stunning.
Even though there is some building work going on at the moment in the area with new apartments being built, this did not affect our stay at all. There is a lot to do around the lake and we also spent some days by the pool as well which was great.
We were surprised by how smoothly everything went with renting the apartment as this was the first time we had organised a holiday independently. However, it could not have been easier from making the booking to exchanging the keys, everything was very simple and has encouraged us to do more holidays like this one in future. We would definitely love to return to this apartment as we enjoyed it so much.Response from nick - 07/20/2012

We stayed here for 4 days in May & it wasn't long enough ! Nicola, the owner, met us at the ferry ststion close to the appartment and guided us there. He is a delightful, friendly & charming man and his appartment, whilst small, is clean, new & modern & was perfect for the 2 of us. The views from the balconies are truly breathtaking & with great weather we were able to have breakfast overlooking Lake Iseo each morning. It was very difficult to tear ourselves away to get out for the day !The surrounding areas are gorgeous with plently to do & it is close enough to get to Milan,Brescia,Bergamo, Cremona etc. We definitely plan on returning !

I'm of two minds here, to give this spot a five star rating all away across the board, or to keep this secret to myself! The owner is more than accommodating, a true host in every sense of the word. This place lives up to its name, it's a retreat for the angels. The pictures hardly do it justice. It's nearly brand new, and has everything you could possibly wish for. If you want a place that only the Italians know about, then this retreat is the place for you.
That said, you need a car to get down to the lake and to various things like groceries. It's about 90 minutes to Milan, and Verona is about an hour in the opposite direction. There is plenty to do at the lake, biking, walking, eating, shopping, but if you're looking for heavy activity, then you're best picking something closer to Milan.
It's also best if you speak Italian, as the locals know very little English, but I got by with the little Italian I know, the locals are very friendly. The rental itself is a very good value, but as of now, the euro is not faring well against the dollar-but eating in can help with that issue, although the local food should not be missed.
If you are looking for a rest for body, mind and spirit, then this is the place. But to be clear, it is out of the way, and best provides peace and quiet. But I cannot recommend this place highly enough, I will return as soon as possible. -

Bristol, EnglandBeautiful apartment in idyllic surroundings
Left on 08/24/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The apartment was excellent. It was furnished in a modern, neutral style. The finish on the apartment itself was excellent, as were the furnishings. We have nothing but praise for the apartment. The views from the balcony/terrace are breathtaking - you have an uninterrupted, unbeatable and panoramic view of the lake. The surrounding area was quiet and relaxing. The views from the pool are equally stunning.
The owner was extremely attentive without being intrusive. He met us at the airport and was very patient with the long wait for a hire car. He helped us navigate through Bergamo and led us to the apartment (about 40 mins from the airport). Once we arrived he let us know a little of the area and suggested some places to visit. He had also stocked the cupboards with some essentials for us (parma ham/cake/breakfast things/bread/milk) as well as some wine and beer, which was greatly appreciated. He also kept us updated (via SMS) on the weather forecast!
The surrounding area is beautiful. It has some of the best scenery/views that we have ever seen. Although only 40 minutes from Lake Garda, we preferred the more peaceful and rustic surroundings of Lake Iseo. Lake Iseo seems to be largely undiscovered by the hordes of tourists who visit Lake Garda, which is definitely to its advantage. The apartment is a perfect base for exploring a large section of Lombardy and beyond (we managed to end up in Switzerland one day!).

The Cotswolds, UKA little piece of heaven on earth
Left on 08/22/2010 for a stay in August 2010
This is an absolute gem of a property. Located on the lesser known and in my view finer Italian Lake - Iseo, the apartment has an elevated position in an exclusive little development.
The views are every bit as good as the photos, with the most inspiring uninterrupted lake and mountain vista.
The apartment is a one bedroom, small but well proportioned property, elegantly fitted out with everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. In August its a busy development with many properties in the development occupied and out of season this would be a very tucked away and peaceful haven.
We can also heartily recommend the wonderful little restaurant Le Torres in the town below - Tavernola Bergamasca, the best pizza we have had in Italy, bar none.
