This was our third time on Isla Mujeres, but our first stay in Clyde and Joan Schmidt's condo. The condo is beautiful and had everything we needed.The wrap around balcony was such a added bonus and we spent a lot of time on it just taking in the view. We had a small issue during our stay but it was handled promptly by Clyde and his staff and the rest of our stay was perfect ( I was quite impressed by the quick response) I can't say enough about this wonderful island and we will be back again next year!

Everything about our trip, from our first communication with Clyde Schmidt (owner) to our good bye trip to the airport on the day we left, well exceeded our expectations! Not only is Isla Mujeres a perfect paradise, the condo (#410) was immaculate, beautifully decorated, cozy, well equipped and maintained. Did I mention the view? Overlooking the beautiful beach and blue, blue water, spectacular sunsets right from the balcony...what more could you want? Everything was within walking distance, the restaurants were wonderful, the islanders so friendly and most of all, we felt safe. There are a lot of vendors both on the beach and in the streets, but hey, it's Mexico...so you come to expect being asked 40 times if you want Cuban cigars or t-shirts. Everyone needs to make a living, right? I must say, the vendors were not pushy...a simple "no gracias" was sufficient. Renting a golf cart for a day or two is a must. We enjoyed a full day exploring the island, (the ocean side is spectacular). We highly recommend the sunset cruise by Induca Charters (see Trip advisor for this information)
The beach was so clean, and there was always someone on hand to move your chair, get you a drink or bring you lunch. We have stayed everywhere in Quinta Roo...and the Ixchel condo on Isla is the first place we've said "let's come back here!"
One thing to bear in mind: this particular condo has its own management company. If you need something, like a taxi, the front desk is not allowed or able to help you. You are given a cell phone to get in touch with representatives from a separate company. Or, you can do like we did...wing it and explore and figure things out on your own.
Thank you, Clyde, for giving us the opportunity to call your beautiful condo our home for a week. Next time, were coming for 2 weeks!

The Schmidts condo is the perfect place to enjoy your stay on Isla. The location is perfect (walk to downtown and the beach) and the view is priceless. The beach is clean and lovely with lounge chairs and umbrella a few steps way. The condo is well appointed, modern, comfortable and very clean. They have good management people serving the unit.
This was our third time to Isla and our second stay in this condo. When we go back to Isla we hope that we can get their condo again. Isla has modernized over the 10 years we've been going there but it still retains its local charm, color and friendliness. The people are warm and helpful. Isla is such a great place to relax and kick back!
Being able to stay in this condo makes the rest of the trip here easy to plan. Just get your plane reservations and you are set. Thank you Schmidts! -

We have stayed in three different units in this building and thought we would try this end unit this time for the huge deck and extra windows. We loved the unit and the view. It was worth the extra money and once we saw the view we didn't think about the few extra dollars we were spending a day. We will be back!

This was our second stay in the 4th floor ocean front condo and it was even better than last year.
Clyde and Joan have a wonderful place and the service...all the way from the Entertainment Plus providing us a shuttle service to and from the Cancun airport - to Melchor , the wonderful man that met us on Isla and took care of our every need - to the housekeepers, Deanna and Edgar, we could not have had more fun or better service.
The beach right below this unit is soft sand and perfect to walk along or play in the water. And a wonderful walk to and from the waterfront restaurants on the bay side. We could walk to the downtown area too going through the town with no problem.
The east side of Isla is perfect for looking for seashells! This island is small and has a variety of things to do and things to see. Take a taxi or rent a golf cart for the day and tour it in its entirety. Don't miss the snorkeling near Punta Sur!
We've been going to Isla for six years and stayed in several places up and down the island. We found the perfect place here though and were sad to leave - but are already looking forward to returning next year.

The accomodations were everything that we hoped for and more. From the wrap-around balcony there is a perfect view of clear blue water, white sand and a vast stretch of the island coast. The condo is very nice and spacious and comes with a fully equipped kitchen. The island decor gives things a great home away from home feeling. We shopped at the market off of the main plaza and had plenty of snacks and beverages to tide us over whenever we walked from our chairs and umbrellas (included with the rental!) to the room and back again: total travel time = 2 minutes!!! And that is only when we weren't being served scrumptious food and beverages by the staff at the restaurant located between the beach and the room.
Clyde Schmidt and his property managers there on the island were wonderful and accomodating. In fact, the only concern that I have in posting this review is that too many of you will book this place and I will have trouble getting reservations for the next trip that is already in the works.

I enthusiastically recommend this rental. My family and I stayed here for ten days. We were very well cared for by Melchor, who works for the property management company. He arranged golf cart rentals, scuba diving and snorkeling excursions, and whale shark encounters and was always just a phone call away if we needed anything. The condo is very comfortable, clean, well cared for, and has beautiful views of the ocean. The beach is amazing and the water warm and clear. It took us a few days to find our groove food-wise. The condo though has a fully equipped kitchen and there is a large supermarket (Chedraui I think is what it is called) where you can find pretty much anything you want. Not many restaurants take credit cards, but there are atms very close to Ixchel. We had a great experience there and look forward to returning.

We very much recommend Isla and staying in this Ixchel Condo. Everything was perfect and what we expected. The staff at the condo were very friendly and provided any assistance requested. The view from the unit is gorgeous. The beach is very pretty, chairs and umbrellas provided at no charge, and beach service for refreshments very affordable.
The people in Isla are very friendly and knew our family within the first day or so. We snorkeled one day, toured the island on a golf cart another, and the highlight was the day spent swimming with the whale sharks.
We are already planning our return trip and will stay in this unit again.

When we arrived at the ferry dock on Isla, Will was there and he already had a young man on a bicycle to take our luggage to the hotel. We walked to the hotel with Will as he pointed out different places that we could eat and visit. Will knows a lot about the island. We stayed in 409 and 410 as there were 4 in our group. The location of the hotel was amazing and the units were very nicly furnished. We had everything we needed. We were right on the beach. We had beautiful sunsets (that we watched from our patio) and mostly beautiful weather. We had 2 days of rain out of 7 days however, the rain didn't stop us from enjoying the island. We were disappointed however that we didn't get to do the Contoy Island trip due to rain on the day we planned the trip. We loved getting fresh bread and pastries from the bread man every evening as we walked back to the hotel from dinner. I can't say enough about Isla Mujers and Ixchel as we have been there two times (one week each time)in the last 9 months. We visited Olivia's restaurant for the first time. It was very good.

Had a super stay at Ixchel condo 410. It is right on the end with a wrap around balcony and a wonderful view of the beach and water. The owner's staff in Isla was great! The suite was large and very clean and well furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed-even an ice chest for the beach.We are looking at renting both 409/410 next May. Thanks again for a great stay.

After being at your condo#410 for two weeks, we didn't want to leave! It feels like home to us.This was our second year in a row at your condo and loved everything about it. It located on the best beach of the island and is so close to all the restaurants. We had fun trying all the different restaurants. There are so many great ones. All the people on the island are so friendly. We loved the pool and had great weather while there...the ocean water was perfect..calm and beautiful. More beautiful than pictures. The King bed with the awesome view of the water was a plus. Melchor was always very nice and ready to help with anything we needed. We plan to return soon. Thanks for sharing your island paradise with us again.

My wife and I stayed at Ixchel Condo 410 from 4/20-4/25/12. It had a wrap-around balcony that overlooked the pool and beach and also provided views of beautiful sunsets each day. The unit itself was well appointed and provided a ks bed and a large Bdrm and living/dining area.
The staff that assists with the condo provided excellent svc and assisted in getting luggage to/from the ferry terminal as well as arranging activities while there (golf cart rental to see the island as well as a snorkeling/sightseeing trip). We anxiously look forward to returning to IM and Ixchel unit 410. -

For the units 401/402. The path next to the pool leads right to the beach but there is no actual room right on the beach (as the website says) but the appartment is very spacious. We were 4 adults and 2 childrens (8 and 5) for 1 of our 3 weeks vacation and never felt squeezed. We appreciated the balcony in shade. A magnific view. But we can't view the sunset the last week of Feb. and first week of March but the following week we could see it. The personnel of this unit is great but those units are not managed by The Ixchell Condo and you feel it. No service except by the private management of the owner. Thanks to Will, Melchior, Diana (I'm not sure of her name). The a/C was loud and noisy. But a great place, a very nice beach and near of the Hidalgo street, restaurants and shops.

Our family of 6 (2 adts, kids 11, 6, 4 & 2) stayed at Clyde's condo in Feb. Clyde was very responsive & helpful. Balcony was a concern & Clyde was honest about the potential for danger based on the faulty design. He said he had installed netting & it ended up being fine although definitely a source of stress in the beginning.
The location couldn't be better! The beach was gorgeous, the bay area is somewhat sheltered from the big waves & chairs/service were plentiful. The resort was very nice. It was safe & clean, the kids loved the pool & there was no late night music from the neighboring disco (located directly below this unit).
The unit was perfect for our family. The kids had their own bedroom, bathroom, TV, & fridge & we had our own space. The master bedroom is huge! There is a wonderful sliding door to the balcony & a huge picture window that looks directly out to the bay. The kitchen was small but had everything. The condo was very clean, furniture was relatively new, the beds were very comfortable & there was tons of seating on the balcony.
"Negatives" - you can hear everything that is going on at the ground level. When the workers came out in the a.m. to clean the pool & rake the beach it would scare me - sounded like they were on our balcony! Also, too bad that the picture window in the master wouldn't open. You really couldn't hear the waves very well from the side sliding door. The condo was cleaned everyday. We expected once a week so it was nice to have the sand swept up daily & fresh towels but it also a little tedious to leave at 9:00 a.m. so she could clean. For most people this would be desired but pretty hard with 4 young ones to get out the door early.
We take a Caribbean vacation every year & this destination & condo rates very highly on our list of destinations to visit more than once. Great value, nice/large condo, beautiful location, quaint town, gorgeous beach & water, yummy food - what more could you ask for? -

This condo is one of the nicest I have ever seen I would highly suggest a stay there. It is a private condo so that does leave you to supply your own coffee and supplies but it is very nice and the view is the best.

We stayed 8 days in Room 409. Clyde told us that it is like a hotel room with no balcony and had a very little view. We got there and boy were we surprised. Clyde talked the room down!!. There was a good view of the beach and water from the window. It overlooked the pool also. The room was large and it had a microwave and small refrigerator. For us, it was perfect. We usually eat a large breakfast out and a meal about 2/3 pm. Then snack at night. The room was very close to the beach and the people were very helpful to get an umbrella. We were only 2 blocks from Hidalgo Street (the main walkway of Isla Mujeres).The room was on the north end of the beach and was centrally located. The staff for these rooms were excellent. If we needed something, we left a note and it was there! .

Having a vacation rental of our own we know all that it entails to make a comfortable and welcoming place for our guests. This condo owned by Clyde and Joan fits that criteria to a "T"!
Isla Mujeres is our favorite island and we go there every year. This condo is by far the best place as too location and condition of any we have stayed in.
The manager, Lilo was extremely helpful and a real gentleman. We would be proud to have him be in charge of our rental if we were not onsight ourselves.
The location of this condo is perfect for everything you could want to access on the island, restaurants, shopping etc. There are taxis all over the island so if you want to travel to Punta Sur - the south end it is only a few short minutes away. No need to rent a car on this island - ever!
If you want a beautiful place to call home during your vacation on Isla - there is no better place!

We are back from our wonderful trip to Isla Mujeres and have many great memories. Your Ixchel condo unit 410 was perfect for us. It was roomy and is very well kept up. The north beach is our favorite. The water is so wonderful--torquoise blue and calm. The sand is like sugar and doesn't get hot. It feels so good to walk barefooted on the soft sand! . We rented a golf cart and enjoyed driving around the island; stopped at some great view points; snorkeling at Castillo Del Garrafon, and ate at Mango Cafe.
We have been coming to the island for the last ten years and are glad we got to stay at your condo this year. The Ixchel condo unit 410 had all the comforts of home.
Will meet us at the ferry landing in Isla and we walked to the condo. We enjoyed talking to him on the way. He introduced us to Lilo when we arrived at 409 for 4 nights then moved to 410 for 8 nights which was the best. Wow!! 410 has a wonderful view of the beach below and having the deck was especially nice. We sat alot out there watching the sunsets and eating some meals there. We also enjoyed walking to the restaurants some nights. They are all so close to the condo.
Lilo was very nice and came by to check on us each morning and was very helpful too. He always got back to us right away for anything we needed.
The condo has lots of light and big windows to enjoy the great views of all the green beautiful plants and coconut palm trees.
Bring plenty of bug repellent... The mosquitos are bad at sunset especially down at the beach.
Thanks for all your help and for sharing your piece of paradise with us. We plan to return soon. We miss the warm water and soft sand on our toes.

There were 5 of us, all females, and we all agreed that this was one of the best vacations we've had. Isla Mujeres is safe, laid back and very Mexican in contrast to Cancun. Ixchel Condos #1 is in a wonderful location and on the best beach with the clearest, cleanest and calmest water of anyplace we've ever stayed, including Hawaii. We came to swim with the whale sharks and were not disappointed. It was one of those events you'll never forget. We rented golf carts 2 days and went all over the Island and snorkeled at Castilla Garrafon and ate lunch at Mango Cafe which was awesome. We had a spectacular view from our condo (401-402) and saw some incredible sunsets. I would highly recommend this place and Clyde Schmidt, one of the owners, that have their own team managing 5 condos. You feel like you have your own butler while there!

Perfect location - comfortable beds. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! It was my second time to the island,first time we stayed in a small hotel, well, two of them, and it was awful!!! So glad we made the decision to stay here this time. Walking distance to anything, beautiful beaches with chairs availble for you to use as well. I have recommended this to tons of my friends. Clyde was extremely helpful with all the details before the trip, and once we got to Mexico the property management company was there anytime we needed them! The bottled water in the room was a plus. Can't wait to go back again!

We had an incredible week at this Ixchel condo with our 9 and 11 year old daughters. It was our first trip to Isla Mujeres, and everything we read about this being the perfect location was right. The condo is amazingly clean and the local management staff was very attentive. One travel tip we will pass on is to plan to make this a mostly cash week - very few places on Isla take credit cards. Also, the aTM is across the street from the ferry, so just wait to get pesos until you get to Isla. We ate so much wonderful food that it's hard to rate them, but favorites were waterfront seafood at Minino's and, of course, Olivia's - where we went twice at our children's insistence. Great Mediterranean food! The beach is amazing and the pool is wonderful and clean. If you're considering Isla Mujeres for your next vacation - just do it! And be sure to stay at Ixchel, and this oceanfront unit is probably the best view/location in Ixchel.

Wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time in Isla Mujeres. The condo is beautiful and the beach is perfect, the nicest beach we have been to in Mexico. We both loved the town and everywhere we ate. Lilo was great, and could not have been more helpful. He came by every morning to check on us and see if we needed anything. When we asked about a golf cart he took care of everything, brought it to the condo for us and returned it the next day. We have vacationed all over Mexico and Isla Mujeres is definitely one of our favorites.

This place is beautiful! we stayed for 2 nights and didnt want to leave. awesome sunsets,and the staff is very friendly (Maurico) , you feel vary safe here, we will return next year and never stay anywhere else! -

What a great place you have, a little piece of paradise. 16 of us travelled together for my 50th birthday and we rented 3 different units on the 4th floor. We stayed for 8 nights and yours was by far the best of the three units, with its breath taking beach view and all the comforts of home. We hope to be back again soon in the near future.

What a beautiful island! A truly laid back, relaxing, sun filled get-away. My friend and I are true beach lovers and this beach with the beautiful turqoise water is at the top of our list. Clyde, your apartment was everything we had envisioned and more. The wrap-around porch was perfect for early morning coffee and evening cocktails. We really didn't spend much time inside since we were fortunate to have perfect sunny days. Lilo from the management company was a joy. Edwin picked us up from the ferry which was also a nice treat. Lilo checked in on us every day and would have arranged any type of excursion we wanted, but he didn't hover when we didn't need anything. Perfect blend of good service, great apartment and fabulous location! Will go again. Thank you for sharing your apartment and all of the travel arrangements you suggested also worked without a hitch.

Ocean-front with wrap around balcony, we enjoyed the indoor-outdoor living style. We had a great stay with our daughter and son-in-law.Free wi-fi and beach lounge chairs with umbrellas. Will be back!

We were greeted on the Island by Savannah who had a taxi waiting for us. It was a sweet guy with a big bicycle who ended up carrying myself, my two kids and our luggage. Randy walked alongside. What a great ride it was! The kids and I laughed all the way to the condo.
The Condo is beautiful and spacious and the location could not be any better. We all had such a great time.
Next time we will know to spend our whole vacation time in your condo!!!

I have to say that our stay at Ixchel (4th floor condo) was an amazing vacation for our 30th anniversary! We had our anniversary dinner on the oversized balcony while watching a stunning sunset. Your condo is by far the most comfortably furnished (that we have stayed) in the Yucatan...and we've been a dozen times or more. It was such a pleasure taking a shower in the morning with a view...the best part of waking up (next to folgers coffee in my cup). We were able to watch our hometeam (Washington Redskins) on the wonderful flat screen tv...perhaps thats why they finally won one!! You have provided your guests with all the pleasures one could ask for...movies...books...stereo, and more. My husband was able to conduct business as usual thanks to your Wifi and Voip...he was much more relaxed knowing that he wouldn't be coming home to an astronomical phone bill. The location of your home is so close to all one would need...restaurants, shopping, tours, the beach, but driving around the beautiful Island was so much fun in the golf cart that Donna and Savannah arranged and had delivered to us the very afternoon we arrived. I have to say that Donna and Savannah are 2 of the most precious people...so sweet and so very very helpful. Savannah contacted us on our anniversay to let us know that we were there in time for the Turtle release and that we were invited to attend and actually release some baby turtles! How special is that!! They deserve some absolute recognition for their respresentation of you as the owners and there willingness to make sure your guest are comfortable, safe and happy with their stay at Ixchel. Now for Clyde and Joan...you have out done yourselves, you made the arrival and introduction to Isla Mujeres a wonderful experience. Clyde, you were always so quick to respond to our questions and we couldn't have been more pleased with the ease of renting your condo. Thank you all so very much for a wonderful, memorable vacation.

I'm sure you have heard this many times before, but... Pat and I fell in
love with Isla Mujeres and cannot wait to return!!! The people, the food,
the sights, the activities, the everything!!! Getting on that ferry to
return was sooo depressing!!! Your condo is lovely, comfortable, and by
far, located on the best beach on the island with the best staff!!! Your
balcony... the perfect spot for viewing the magnificant sunsets, and the MB
views... breathtaking!!! The condo is in the perfect location, just a short walk to town for dining and/or shopping. Donna and Savannah were awesome... loved them
both and wish I had their jobs::)) The transfers to and from the airport
went extremely smoothly as well. The only hitch was the threat of hurricane
Paula and the Voip phone not working to call home.
Muchas Gracias Senor Clyde for the extremely awesome accomodations from which
to explore Isla Mujeres. We are counting the days to our return!!

This was our second trip to the island, and to Ixchel Condos, but our fisrt time to stay in this unit!! Very nice unit, w/ large balcony that overlooks the north beach. Loved the mornings when we just sat out there with our coffee, and watched the beach come to life!!! The staff there are very friendly, and will help with whatever you need. It was nice to come back and still see many of the same faces!! And they remembered us as well!! The condos are located just blocks away from many of the shops, and resturants. We can't wait to go back!! And would love to stay in this unit again!!! Hope you enjoy and love the island as much as we do!!!

My sister and I spent two weeks in Clyde’s condo. What a beautiful condo!! It is tastefully decorated and felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect and the wrap around deck was awesome!! Early mornings and sunsets were my favorite times on the deck. The front
desk staff, the housekeepers, the waiters at Comono and the beach staff were wonderful. I would highly recommend staying in Clyde’s unit. Clyde makes the renting process painless and answers all your questions promptly. Last year we rented through Clyde but stayed in another unit on the fourth floor. We enjoyed our stay last year as well but Clyde’s unit is special. We had a
hard time leaving and hopefully, we will be back again next year. -

This was our second stay at Ixchel, first time at this unit. Every detail of the condo was perfect, a home away from home. The front desk, housekeeping, and service at the beach kept us from having to think of anything. The location is the best on Isla Mujeres, walkable to everything. We stayed at this condo for Christmas 2009. It is the most beautiful setting and the accomodations at this condo are outstanding! The wrap-around balcony is so large that our entire family of 14 people were able to gather there for drinks before leaving for dinner. The interior is decorated with high-end furnishings and the condo complex itself is great. Being right on the beach and within walking distance to town was so family frendly! I definately recommend staying in this condo and we will be back!

We can't thank you enough Clyde for all your help and our stay in your wonderful Condo! We were there February 24 - March 3, 2010. What a perfect place to stay! The balcony and the view are awesome!! Your condo is decorated beautifully! We stayed at the Ixchel last year also, and cannot imagine staying anywhere else. We used USA transfer and they were right there waiting for us both times. We love everything about Isla. It is so beautiful, the food is wonderful, and seeing is Island on golfcarts is so much fun. Some of our group were first timers to Isla, and everyone loved it and we all shall return there time and time again. Thanks again Clyde for all your help with booking and for sharing your beautiful home with us! We can't wait until our next visit to Isla and our stay in #410!!!

WE JUST SPENT A WEEK AT THE IXCHEL CONDO IN THE PHASE 1 FOURTH FLOOR OCEAN FRONT CONDO. WE HAVE BEEN TO MEXICO NEARLY 20 TIMES AND THIS TRIP WAS ONE OF THE BEST EVER. THE UNIT IS VERY COMFORTABLE AND SPACIOUS. THE VIEW IS SPECTCULAR, AND EVERY EVENING WE ENJOYED OUR COCKTAILS WHILE WATCHING THE SUNSET FROM THE HUGE WRAP-AROUND BALCONY. THE STAFF AT IXCHEL WAS WARM, FRIENDLY, AND HELPFUL IN EVERY WAY.
THE BEACH AND WATER WERE DELIGHTFUL, AND IT WAS GREAT BEING ABLE TO JUST WALK INTO TOWN FOR DINNER AND SHOPPING. THE RESTAURANTS IN TOWN WERE PLENTIFUL, AND THE MEALS WERE DELICIOUS AND INCREDIBLY INEXSPENSIVE.
WE WOULD GO BACK IN A HEARTBEAT, AND HOPE TO BOOK AT LEAST TWO WEEKS NEXT YEAR.
