Isla Mujeres is a small island just a short distance off the northeast coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in the Caribbean Sea about 13 kilometers (8.1 miles) northeast of Cancun.

Island activities include sailing, parasailing, kayaking, jet skiing, wind-surfing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, fishing, walking, shopping, sight seeing, restaurants, scenic drives, and viewing historical ruins. Other Island activities include Dolphin Discovery and the Turtle Farm; there are Whale Shark Tours from June through August. Off-Island activities include golf at Playa Mujeres (a ferry ride away).
