Alligator Reef is a truly special slice of Paradise with 4 individual homes nestled on a privately gated oceanfront estate. This home, the Pelican House, is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom ocean front home featuring beautiful views, ocean breezes, and your own private pool (heated in the cooler seasons), plus a private balcony to enjoy the trade winds and sip your margaritas.
The Pelican can be rented on its own (sleeps up to 8 people), with its companion 2 bedroom home, The Egret (for up to 14 people), or rent the entire Alligator Reef Luxury Estate (sleeps up to 28 people). Pets OK. Ask us about boat dockage.

This was a great place to stay. We wished we had brought all our friends - it's a great place for a big crowd of friends or a family compound!
Lots of space to park our boat and the marina next door is easy to use and about half the price of the other big marinas in Islamorada. The houses here are perfectly located on a service road off the main drag and it's quiet and peaceful. It had every single thing we needed and more.
The marina next door (Coconut Cove) is a short boat ride straight out to the reef, red can, red buoy or the sandbar. What a convenient location!
We'd come back again and felt the rental rate was awesome and Freewheeler made it all so easy. We'll rent from Freewheeler every time we come to Islamorada! It was perfect.

I've stayed in this home 4 or 5 times and you can see the wear ,the pool was filty we spent the first 3 hours cleaning it .We enjoy the location but will look around next year before we make a decision.

We appreciate you review. Freewheeler loves to address the problems and if we would have known - we would have had the pool guy over there right away. The pool does get serviced once a week and depending on weather it can get serviced more. Thank you again for staying with us through out the years!

This rental is on open water, spacious, gated, and full of amenities such as a great pool and outside summer kitchen. You could open all the doors, enjoy the breeze and the magnificent views. The grounds were well taken care of and the pool person stopped by twice during our week stay. As an added bonus for us, the rental was pet friendly. Freewheeler Vacations exceeded our service expectations. We called at the last minute and they found us this wonderful property. The Freewheeler staff were very friendly and followed up afterward regarding our stay. If we are ever looking for a Keys rental, these are the folks we'd use again and recommend to friends.

We stayed for a week. The house was in a great location. Enjoyed Kayaking. A friend came down to visit with a boat and was able to get moorage right next door. Had several friends come over for BBQ and pool time. Private pool was fabulous. House was clean and the view was spectacular

This was the 4th time we have stayed at this rental and we are already planning for next year. It's the perfect place for large groups like my family (this year 15 but some years 20+). The houses are clean and well kept. The location is perfect! The service outstanding. Over the last 10 years we have used other rental companies but no one compares to Freewheeler. The Freewheeler staff are incredible from start to finish. They are friendly, accommadating and obviously strive to please their customers/renters. Brandi Horton from Freewheeler is awesome. She is always so helpful and I always feel like I am talking to a friend when I call. Pete (the Freewheeler maintenance man) is great. He always checks up to make sure nothing needs taking care of and if for some reason it does he is very prompt and professional. We cannot afford our own vacation home but for 10 days out of the year I feel like this one is ours! I highly recommend Freewheeler and the alligator Reef properties.

The house is well designed and located, and Freewheeler is clearly committed to keeping it clean, tidy and in excellent working order. It's perfectly located in Islamorada, far enough from the highway to allow for peace and quiet, and lots of different outdoor spaces in which to relax.

This has become an almost yearly family vacation. Everytime it becomes more of an enjoyable one. This year we brought some friends who just could not believe how wonderful it was. It was so hard to leave.

Our family gets together for a reunion every third summer, comes in from all over the country, and includes all ages, (this year from 18 months to 69 years old). We rented all 6 houses in adjacent properties. The homes were in beautiful condition and fully equipped. They were on the ocean, well-located for easy access to all the entertainment venues the Keys have to offer, or just relaxing and enjoying the wonderful peace and quiet of the environment. The pools were a big hit, as were the kayaks and the many hammocks around the property. The whole family enjoyed getting together for dinners in the summer kitchens (under Pelican and Conch). These were ideal for communal get-togethers, with CD players and TVs if desired, ping pong tables (which got a lot of action) and all the equipment we needed for serving up casual barbeques to celebrating a wedding under the beautiful palm trees (catered, with all the trimmings). If we didn't want to cook there were plenty of really good restaurants nearby. Everyone agreed it was the best reunion we'd ever had and will be hard to top! Freewheeler was super to work with. The only downside (and this was a small one) was that the web access was unreliable and had to be repeatedly reset. (Oh, well). We wish the week hadn't flown by so quickly! It was truly great!
