I recently returned from Islamorada where the weather was low 80s and sunny every day. Joan and Barbara were exceedingly helpful. The house was perfect for the needs of six of us. I would only add that the sofa bed was not the most comfortable for the person who stayed with me in the suite next to the pool which is of course how those kinds of beds are. Sleeps 5 comfortably without the sofa bed. Sleeps 6 easily with more than one person in the king. The house was very nicely appointed. Internet use was spotty but more a function of the service provider.
Everything we wanted to do was an easy drive. Charter boats, jet skiing, and much more. Restaurants are wonderful. It's quiet, not especially touristy, and everyone everywhere was quite friendly. I would not hesitate going back there. If you want to wake up every morning cradling a cup of coffee and looking at the water in canal, this is the place for you. -

Great location. Clean house, many upgrades such as wine cooler, remodeled bathroom in the king downstairs room, an eclectic mixture of new and old throughout, very comfortable. Love the tiki bar with mini fridge. Pool is great with coconut tree, lots of plants and an iguana sneaking around in the aloe plants. A quick boat ride to the sandbar. Will definitely return. Joan and Barbara were both straight forward and our deposit was returned in a timely fashion.

Clean, convenient, all the amenities you need. Boat ramp a few miles away. Easy access to the Bayside or atlantic. Great restaurants and shopping near by. Pool is in beautiful condition, Tiki bar has frig to keep drinks downstairs. Freezer for bait down stairs. Outdoor shower to rinse of yourself or all your dive gear. Deep water canal, nice and clear. All new appliances in kitchen. Comfortable beds. Joan the owner is so easy to deal with, wonderful kind woman, who always gets back to you in a timely fashion. Barbara is always a phone call away if you need anything at the rental. We had the downstairs freezer break on us, and the next day a new one was brought over by Joan and her husband. Washer and Dryer is so convenient upstairs. Home is close to Founders Park were there is a new boat ramp and Beach with lots of activities for the kids. Many protected reefs a couple of miles away to snorkel. The only complaint, it's always booked!

After hours and hours of surfing the internet to only find that places were unavailable or no one would return your calls I stumbled on Venetian Tropics. What a blessing. The owner actually called me right back. We rented the house for a week. Everything was great. We fished and snorkeled everyday. We caught Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, King Mackerel, and still have some in our freezer. Sure beats a hotel. Hope to return again soon. The property manager was very pleasant as well.

My family has stayed at Venetian Tropics during the opening week of lobster season for about 10 years. Prior to that we stayed at a local "luxury" hotel. There is absolutely no comparison. For about the same rent, the hotel had a 2 room suite, two burner stove, mini frige, etc. Compare to a beautiful home, full modern kitchen, our boat moored at the front door, private pool, two spacious bedrooms, in-home laundry . . . . which would you pick?
As to the location, our main interest is boating, diving, and fishing on the ocean side, so the location of Venetian Tropics is perfect. You climb aboard your boat, and it less than ten minutes, you're under the Snake Creek bridge and out in the atlantic. From there, fishing/diving reefs are anywhere for about 1/2 mile to 5 miles out. The reefs are mostly shallow and crystal clear, so they're perfect for my kids to scuba and grand-kids to splash around/snorkel. See other reviews for area attractions for the less nautically inclined. We always manage to catch enough lobster (without trying too hard) to have a family party when we get home.
The house is well appointed, and, it seems that each year that we've stayed, the owner has incorporated some major upgrade (re-modeled kitchen, re-tiled floors, re-furnished bedroom, etc.)
I heartily recommend that you contact the owner, Joan when you decide to visit the Florida Keys!

This place truly surpassed all our expectations. The house itself was beautiful and spacious while being very comfortable and homey. The location itself was ideal for our party as we were able to feel secluded while at the same time having access to restaurants and beaches (although - to be honest - it was hard to ever leave.) We can't wait to come again!!

Had a wonderful vacation.Occupied both units. Very comfortable downstairs. New kitchen and furnishings upstairs were a pleasant surprise. As always, we enjoyed the pool and having drinks at the tiki bar. Rented a boat and fished a bit. Plenty of great restaurants and good entertainment nearby. We plan to return next year.

My family of 5 (kids 6 13&16) stayed for a week in early march and had an incredible time here. The house is just beautiful, top notch neighborhood and we felt very safe and welcome here. Very close by to many activities that the keys have to offer. The pool was perfect temp and just enough shade to enjoy all day long and even at night sooo warm. Elegant outdoor lighting and the tiki bar is huge. We fished in the canal and saw everything from tropical fish to squid and even 5 foot tarpon jumping! The dock made boat rental a breeze, being on the water in islamorada is amazingly beautiful and the house is only maybe 1 or 2 miles to the popular sandbar in the ocean. Having the computer at the house kept the teenagers busy when mom and dad just wanted to grill and hang-out at the house. Joan and her manager Barbara are delightful women to do business with and they make you feel very welcome. If you want tropical paradise without the rowdy crowds and the time to tick-tock like we did, it doesn't get better than this. Thanks Joan The Dailey family

I was so impressed with the home from the minute we pulled up to the property. The contact with Joan made the entire process easy and enjoyable. The pictures do not do this property justice. It was immaculate and beautiful and so much more. We were able to launch our boat and access the ocean and the bay within minutes and then dock in front of the home. This was by far, one of our best family vacations!

We stayed here the week after Christmas, during New Years with 4 adults and 3 kids. It is a beautiful home in a great location. The layout is particularly good for a family upstairs and a couple downstairs, that way the couple can get some privacy from the kids. The pool in the back is very nice although only about 2/3' stays in the sun at noon, the boat dock on the canal is in the sun all day and it was very easy for us to dock up our boat and get in and out all week, also the kids fished off the dock while the ladies laid in the sun, we only caught some small fish off the dock. Right by the canal dock and pool is an awesome tiki bar with a working fridge and sink which is awesome especially at dusk.
The canal ends right at snake creek and in ten minutes you can boat to the tiki bar by going on the ocean side. As for downsides, the girls complained a little about the layout of the house when we first checked in but at the end of the week, they admitted they loved it (hint: my wife complains the first ten minutes everywhere we go) Tv's were good but a little dated in the bedrooms. It has Wifi and it worked well. I have a friend who lives in Key Largo and he told me we were in one of the premiere neighborhood locations in the north keys.
The couple who rents it were very nice and accomodating. On land, you can get to the grocery store in about 10 minutes, founders park in 3 minutes, Key Largo in 20 minutes. We ate at nearby restaurants and bought a lot of fish from the market next to the sportsman's paradise (huge fishing shop, name might be off) Overall it was a great week and we would go back at any time. You pull up to this lovely two story home and first spy the beautiful pool waiting behind the fence! The beautiful tiki hut to the right and beautiful canal right in front of you. I can't tell you how many times we've seen dolphins swimming in the canal, it's the most amazing site! Then you walk up a set a stairs to the main living area where you experience a large open area that contains the kitchen, dining area and ample size living room. all beautifully decorated. Two bed rooms, one with a large king size bed and the other with two beds are perfect. two bathrooms en suite as well. But - the best part is the downstairs bedroom/living/bathroom. It's worth spending the money and renting the extra room. I can't tell you how spectacular it is to wake up and just walk out to the pool. plus, it's a king size bed and lovely living area. Joan does an amazing job to update the house every year and provide for all your needs. I'm hoping to visit again to experience the new renovated kitchen! Venetian Tropics is my "go to" place when I visit the keys. If you have a boat, this is one of the perfect places to stay! You can pull right up and have the best of both worlds. Also, if you just feel like being lazy --hit the pool and relax or fishing - you can do it right from dock. It's centrally located in Islamorada (very quiet & family oriented neighborhood) and you're close the most amazing restaurants and sporting areas including a beach/park area. You really can't go wrong considering this jewel in the middle of Islamorada. I hope you have a lovely time, I know we did!

We have stayed twice at this house as our annual family vacation and would love to go again. Very clean. Wonderful neighborhood. wonderful town(islamorada). Everything was just as advertised. Excellent being right on the water with a dock. We rented a boat as well each time. Just perfect!!!

My family has stayed at this property on several occasions. We've been there in the spring during Easter break and in the fall over Thanksgiving. Both times of year were perfect. The house is open and airy, with all the comforts of home. The pool and tiki hut gave us many hours of fun and relaxation. Our kids enjoyed fishing from the dock and swimming in the canal.
I'd highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a home away from home. -

The owners are so easy to work with, the managing company is responsive and accomodating, the location is excellent for getting out to the water, and the house is well equipped and comfortable. This was the best vacation we ever had, and it had much to do with this rental ! We drove from Maryland and pulled our boat. It was great being able to put it in the water and have it right behind where we stayed. The home was beautiful, clean and well equipped for vacationing !!! The kids loved the pool !!! This accomodation is perfect for many purposes. The pool is great, you can make fantastic boat trips to the Gulf and swim with dolphins and you can make trips to Key West, Miami and the others islands. We had a great time here.

This House and Property located in Venetian Shores is a real Paradise. It was a memorable vacation for all of us. Having the boat located next to the beautiful pool and Outside Bar and my Grandson fishing off the spacious dock was truly a dream come true. I would recommend this to anyone.
