Alligator Reef is a truly special slice of Paradise with 4 individual homes nestled on a privately gated oceanfront estate. This home, the Conch House (pronounced konk), is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom ocean front home featuring beautiful views, ocean breezes, and your own private pool (heated in the cooler seasons), plus a private balcony to enjoy the trade winds and sip your margaritas.

The Conch can be rented on its own (sleeps up to 8 people), with its companion 2 bedroom home, The Lobster (for up to 14 people), or rent the entire Alligator Reef Luxury Estate (sleeps up to 28 people). Pets OK. Ask us about boat dockage.

Some ameni...ties include WiFi internet, new flat screen TV's in each bedroom and living room, DVD players in each bedroom, BluRay DVD player in living room, stereo system with iPod hookup in living room, washer/dryer, full kitchen, a downstairs summer kitchen with stereo system (great for poolside barbequing), two gas grills, a ping pong table, several hammocks, and a waterfront observation deck.   This was a great place to come and just relax and enjoy the scenery. We loved having the private pool and kitchen outside. The hammocks were a hit with the kids. Close to the aquarium and fine dining, so it was a geat location for us. We had everything we needed!

  Look no more - Paradise!

  This property is a collection of 4 houses, 2 closer to the ocean, each with their own pool and three bedrooms (Conch and Pelican Houses), the other two behind, with no pool and only 2 bedrooms each. We stayed in Conch House, which is the one on the right when looking at the arial photo in Trip advisor. It's difficult to find enough superlatives for this place! We loved everything about it. Access is easy, straight off the Overseas Highway, but on a little side-road, at Mm85.5, so brilliantly placed for pretty much everything you need in the Upper Keys. The property looks out towards the Ocean, and has a small sandy/gravelly backyard between it and the mangroves and then into the sea. The private jetty goes over the mangroves straight into the sea and has a platform at the end with a kayak for you to use, and where you can tie a boat up if you rent one (we didn't). Our boys loved being able to just wander off in the kayak, on a sea which for the most part was calm and in water of 80+ degrees F! The house is pretty well equipped with most things you'll need - the only thing we found they could have added was a large serving dish for making salads in. The master bedroom suite is a dream - big kingsize bed, lovely armchair and a great jacuzzi bath and separate walk-in shower. The Other two bedrooms (one double and one twin) perfectly adequate size, each with walk-in closet and good quality beds, and their own tele in all rooms. Living space is one great big, high-ceilinged room with living area, big glass dining table and lovely open-plan kitchen and breakfast bar. The house is effectively then made twice the size by the full-width covered terrace with hammocks, swing chairs and another dining table as well as a good gas BBQ, French windows going out onto this terrace from all areas. All of this is on the first floor. Underneath the house amongst the stilts are parking, a ping-pong table, another big outdoor kitchen and BBQ area with fridge, ice machine, television and stereo system. All this is alongside the pool, which is big enough to play in and if you swim corner to corner you can do a quick 50 lengths in the early morning sun before breakfast! We loved the fact that there were enough spaces in and outside the house for us and the boys to always find some peace and quiet when we needed it. We ended up eating in most days because we loved being around the house and because, frankly, we felt we could eat better at home than out! This really is the perfect place for lazing, relaxing, reading, rediscovering family time, and at the same time having all the activities you could possibly want (diving, fishing, eating, yoga centres, supermarkets, liquor stores, boat hire, even cinema...) within 5 - 10 minutes by car. The letting agent is Freewheeler Realty, just 1 mile down the road, where Brandi was really helpful (thank you!) and they have a free DVD rental system where you can take out 2 movies at a time. Free wi-fi too at the property. Loved it loved it!
