The Bears Den sits up on a small ridge in the Shotgun valley. It has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountain ranges and the tops of the Tetons. There are a few cabins in the area, but it is mainly quiet and relaxing. The area offers lots of outdoor activities, horseback riding, biking, hiking, tubing, canoeing, fishing, sightseeing, etc...There are several good restarants close.
Directions: From Hwy 20, Turn at elk Creek Station onto (A2) Yale Kilgore Rd., drive west approx. 4.1 miles. Turn left onto Old Shotgun Road, drive approx. 1.2 miles, turn right onto John Rd. Take the first right onto Richard Dr. This road will curve to the left, the Bears Den is the Green roofed cabin with a garage to the right of it directly in front of you.

A group of us went up for a winter getaway and had a blast. The cabin was everything we expected from the photos and more. It was extremely clean and alan was really easy to work with. I will definitely be coming back.

We went for the snowmobile trails, they were awsome, and the cabin was wonderful, small and cozy, very nicely decorated, with everything we needed, we went with brother-in-law and siser-in-law. Trails are right out the front door. It snowed about a foot the last day we were there and the road in was plowed very narrow, we have a big trailer, that was a bit more difficult getting it out, we had to chain up the front end of the pickup, but had a wonderful time while we were there. As would recommend the Bears Den to anyone.

The cabin exceeded my expectations.
It was decorated with a true cabin theme.
The kitchen was modern and had some items there for use.
I loved having a washer and dryer available with soap and fabric softener provided.
If you go in the winter, make sure you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The roads are snowpacked. Not a problem if you have the appropriate type of vehicle. -

This was the second year my friends and I stayed at Bears Den. This is a very comfortable place to stay and enjoy what Idaho has to offer. It is a newer property and very well maintained. The beds are comfortable and this is a must for me.
All of highly recommend you book a stay. -

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bears Den! The cabin was very clean and accommodated our family very well. The boys especially enjoyed the pool table in the basement. The cabin was set up with everything we needed. Alan (the owner) was so kind and accommodating which made this stay even more enjoyable. Thank you alan for all you did!

What a lovely cabin! It was roomy but cozy at the same time. My husband and I brought our three boys, and it was perfect. The younger ones loved all the space outside to run around and all the bird houses that were fully occupied. The firepit was a big hit also. The drive to the west entrance of Yellowstone wasn't too far so it was just perfect for our needs. The cabin was an outstanding value for the price, and we have no doubt if we ever want to visit Yellowstone again we will be staying here! And alan was a gem to work with. You won't be disappointed. :)

We chose to stay at Bears Den for a number of reasons! Availability, location affordability and space! When we got there we were very impressed with the cabin! The view was awesome! The decor of the cabin was so cute! It was well stocked with all that we needed even down to wood for the firepit. Also the cleanliness was great! The service from alan was outstanding! We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone else interested in the area :)
