LeedsA great 50th birthday treat

Had a lovely stay at the cottage which is an ideal location for seeing the beautiful Isle of Harris. The cottage is situated only a stones throw from the magnificent Luskentyre beach as stunning a beach as I've seen anywhere in the world. A very tranquil spot with a fantsatic view of the beach and the island of Taransay from the 'lounge' window.
The cottage is clean tidy very warm and well equiped. The owners are friendly, hospitable and helpful it was lovely to meet them. Its ideal for a couple or a couple with two small children though four adults would struggle as its not overly spacious.
It proved to be a great base for us to do some memorable hill walks and to hit the bright lights of sunny ok maybe a very windyTarbert. The Harris Hotel is worth checking out for an evening meal a tad pricey maybe but the food was very good.
If we get the chance to return to the Ilse this is the place where we'd want to stay again its the best location in Harris in our opinion. We have no hesitation in giving this place 5 stars and recommending it. -

A lovely location next to the white sands of Luskentyre. Ideal for exploring the rugged beauty and beautiful beaches of South Harris or mountainous North Harris, for walkers, bird watchers, photographers

We - my husband and I - like to stay in Harris, also in winter time. It was the second time we stayed in Luskentyre. We enjoy walking along the beach and driving the east-coast of Harris, visiting various places in Harris and Lewis.

This was a fantastic location for our family with two children under 5. The gorgeous sandy beach was a short walk away. The house was servicable and well appointed. Hosts couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The best location we saw in our time in the Outer Hebrides.

The annexe was very well appointed and was absolutely fully self contained which met all our requirements. It was very clean, tidy and well maintained. It has a very warm, cosy atmosphere with fantastic views of the sea and brilliant sunsets. It is in a great location for exploring both Harris and Lewis. It has easy access to a large sandy beach as well as a great hill climb up Ben Luskentyre. The shops are some distance away so you need to come prepared. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and responded quickly to all requests. We found our stay to be most enjoyable. We hope to return to this special place sometime in the future.

Londona view to remember

We stayed at Luskentyre House Annexe for two years running and were delighted on both occasions. The owner is welcoming, the annexe comfortable and well equipped, the wood panels give it a warm feeling. The view from the living room is across a stunning beach and bay with constantly changing light and colours.
The annexe provides easy access to South Harris. Tarbert is about 15 minutes drive. There are many beautiful coast and inland walks and North Harris and Lewis are also within easy reach.
You can hire bicycles near Leverburgh and take a circular tour over the peat road north, returning via Rodel which has a fine church and a hotel that serves good food. From Leverburgh you can take a short ferry ride to North Uist, an island with a very different feel.
A highlight of our first visit was a boat trip with Hamish which gave us glimpses of Harris life and brought us very close to a basking shark. Unfortunately a repeat wasn't possible on our second visit.
My wife, our 15 year old daughter and I would all be very happy to spend another holiday in the annexe.
