Top quality lodge with an eye for quality right down to the most unexpected item. Every comfort was carefully thought out as andrew would expect for himself. The lodge was extremely comfortable and answered all our needs.

everything was excellent, nice warm and very welcoming from andrew, janet and the lodge. very clear direction was given to the lodges, with contact numbers for the local shop so you can pre-order anything you may need ready for your arrival. all in all we recivered a 5 star service for a frication off the cost. the only problem i had was not booking a longer stay, i have since booked to return next year.

We have enjoyed the hospitality of andrew and Janet twice now and would recommend Cill-Mhoire lodges unreservedly. Although just minutes from the local pub - where you can get an excellent meal - and the local shop/post office, the lodges enjoy an idyllic unoverlooked location. They are clean, warm, comfortable, eco-friendly and equipped with absolutely everything you could need. We have watched bats, buzzards and bunnies, not to mention a plethora of small birds, deer and the crowning glory - a sea eagle - from our lodge verandah. Within easy reach of Tobermory, Salen, Calgary and umpteen other destinations we were never short of somewhere to go. We will be back!

ScotlandWhat a Find!

A gorgeous lodge in a beautiful setting. Owner andrew was extremely hospitable and helpful. Accommodation was immaculate with every need catered for from hairdrier to washing liquid to local maps and guides. The kitchen had everything you might need and more! We took far more stuff than we needed. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with a grand shower. The local pub - The Bellacroy was within walking distance, if you dont mind a wee hill... and served lovely food in extremely pleasant surroundings. The pub quiz is a must!
All in all a fantastic place to spent a holiday on a beautiful island - go there, you wont regret it!!Response from Andrew Stevens - 08/04/2011

ScotlandA Well Equipped Lodge with a Very Helpful Owner
Left on 08/03/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The lodge is very well equipped with everything you might need when self-catering, and it's of good quality too - even the kitchen knives are sharp! The lodge has been designed well, with the living area upstairs and the bedroom downstairs to make best use of the space and give great views over the hills from the lounge. The covered area near the front door is great for hanging damp jackets and outdoor boots if you are unlucky enough to get caught in the rain. The midge machines in the garden really do work, so we could sit out on the porch in the evening without any bother. Andrew and Janet are great hosts, on hand when you arrive to show you around the lodge and also when you leave to say cheerio. In between, they are around if you need anything out of the ordinary - I needed a needle and cotton to repair a tear in my jacket. A great place to spend a week. It's our third time at Cill Mhoire, and we will be back.

Matt and I have just returned from a week at Sycamore Lodge, what a fantastic week we had. This was a 5* holiday ticking all the boxes! The accommodation was superb, in a fantastic setting, and andrew and Janet could not have been more hospitable (thanks for the lovely fresh crabs :))
The Island itself is delightful a beautiful beach at Calgary, and Tobermory is just picture postcard stuff, really quaint and easy on the eye.
Really sad to be home, but feel completely refreshed after a week of doing very little with nothing to worry or think about. Great opportunity to catch up on lots of reading and resting as it is just so quiet and peaceful, as my title suggests a little piece of heaven on earth!Response from Andrew Stevens - 07/10/2011

EdinburghWell kitted out and cosy
Left on 05/21/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Booking Sycamore Lodge was easy and the owners were very friendly, the information provided was good (except the promised wifi and phone reception was patchy). The cabin is well kitted out with everything you could want in the kitchen, good stereo, TV, DVD player etc. The cabin has been designed for comfort and it's very warm. The bathroom is good, great shower and heated towel rails. If you have toddlers a portable stairgate would be a good idea. The main downside was the hard as rock mattress. Overall a nice place to stay, the pub down the hill (short walk) serves amazing seafood platters!

Hi Karen, thank you for your review. We have updated our letters to guests to inform them that the Wi-Fi is only available outside and I am researching how to improve the Wi-Fi reception, a signal booster may be the answer. We are also looking at fitting both Rowan and Sycamore with stairgates. We take your point about the mattress, some people enjoy a firm bed, others don't. we hope it didn't lessen your enjoyment of your stay!

Great accomadtion and very quiet. We walked to the end of the point and saw sea eagles, a great place to stay. The only issue at the time was the uncomfortable bed which we reported to the owner. He said he was due to change it.
A well equipped kitchen and a constant supply of hot water. Great walks from the door and very quiet. We arrived late and there was no issue booking in. A very friendly host and good info available about attractions in the lodge.Response from Andrew Stevens - 05/19/2011

Thanks for the review; we have removed the footboard from the bed for the benefit of our taller guests. Glad you enjoyed your stay!

Left on 05/02/2011 for a stay in April 2011
For a first visit to this wonderful island this is a great location to start from. Outside from Tobermory there can be few better areas to stay in this northern region of Mull - Dervaig is a small, attractive village with the only local shop/post office, run by helpful Dougie and staff. The accommodation was excellent. Tobermory is an 8 mile trip away over an attractive drive. There is plenty to explore - recommend the trip to Staffa and Lunga in the Treshnish Isles. Fabulous, and memorable for Fingal's Cave and the amazing geology of Staffa, and the puffins and wild life on Longa and the shores of other islands. The seascapes from the boat were stunning. Search out the few remote sandy beaches apart from splendid Calgary. A visit to Ulva is recommended too. Will return - much more to explore after a mere 2 weeks! A huge variety of landscapes, and a Munroe to boot! A very special and memorable holiday. I recommend the Cill-Mhoire Lodges.

Went to Mull for a three night break at half term. Didn't know the island or what to expect at Cill-Mhoire. Stayed in the Sycamore lodge and what a treat. Beautifully equipped and fitted out to a very high standard. Nothing has been missed that you need to self cater. Locally, the food at the hotel is excellent and only a ten minute walk away. Andrew made us feel very welcome and at home. We couldn't have felt better about this accomodation.

We found the accomodation to way exceed our expectations. It was tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped and exceedingly good value for money! Sycamore had everything needed for a self catering holiday, particularly if the weather is bad - and it was!
Andrew was most firendly and helpful without being intrusive.
We would definitely visit againResponse from Andrew Stevens - 01/06/2011
