Description from the manager

The Pennyghael Estate covers approx. 10,000 acres, stretching from the shores of Loch Scridain southwards to the sea cliffs at Carsaig, overlooking Jura, Islay and Colonsay, and westwards for 5 miles from Pennyghael village. There is abundant wildlife on this beautiful island and visitors may see otters, red deer, sea eagles and golden eagles. For hill-walking, Mull has endless opportunities and there are splendid coastal walks along rugged unspoilt shores. On the estate, loch fishing for brown trout is free and shooting in season can be arranged at an extra charge. Location and accommodation very good

Left on 05/12/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We had a very good one Week's holiday which was helped by good weather. Travelled all over the Island by car doing a total of over 400 miles. We went on an organised Wildlife trip with David Woodhouse from 10.30 untll 16.30, this was most enjoyable experience helped by David's knowledge, experience. We learnt a lot from him and new how and what to look for during the remainder of our holiday.
We had all our meals at the farm house, the kitchen facillities were excellent and we stopped a lot of food going bad!
The farm manager was very helpfull, however the cleaning lady had not finished her work when we arrived at 15.30, a very minor point and did not cause us a problem.

The most beautiful place I have ever seen.

Left on 08/16/2011 for a stay in July 2011

The Isle of Mull is astonishingly beautiful, and our accommodation was perfectly located. We overlooked patches of rocky shoreline, where we routinely saw many seals, a great variety of birds and my first Sea Otter. The landscape is breathtaking, and the silence is priceless. The mixed weather simply meant that the hills and the water changed their mood minute-by-minute. The estate manager, Paul Chauvet, was extremely welcoming and helpful, and the owners of the accommodation were very friendly. For wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, walkers or simply anyone who loves natural beauty, the Isle of Mull is a little piece of Heaven. Although we enjoy visiting new places, this is one place we definitely wish to return to.

Peaceful retreat surrounded by magnificent scenery

Left on 10/10/2010 for a stay in July 2010

Six of us and a dog stayed in this well-equipped house during summer 2010. It's quite a drive from the ferry when you first arrive, though you get used to having to drive a fair bit every day when you go out and about. It's closer to Iona though - handy when catching an early-morning ferry! The bedrooms were very comfortable, especially the en-suite room, though the other two bedrooms were considerably tighter for space. The macerator in the general bathroom was a bit noisy and disturbing in the night. Overall, when six staying, good value for money in good accommodation.

      A Lovely Experience

Left on 10/09/2010 for a stay in May 2009

The Farmhouse at Pennyghael exceeded expectations. I had booked on behalf of friends and was very pleased that it lived up to my hopes and they all enjoyed it. We are a group of keen birdwatchers and found the location to be perfect.
