Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We really enjoyed our week-long stay at Studio 2 this Easter. The accommodation ideally suited our needs. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bathroom modern and stylish. The high ceiling height means the studio feels spacious, light and bright. The views over Loch Snizort are beautiful and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation to couples looking for a week exploring Skye.

Our few days in March were the third time we've stayed at the Knott studio. As before the place was spotless and Joyce and Brian were their usual welcoming selves. The studio is comfortable, ideally placed for holidaying in North Skye, the views down the loch huge. The placve is great for just chilling out and relaxing.

The studio is furnished to a very high standard. It is warm and cosy and the bathroom and kitchen are amazing. The bed is very comfortable and the view across the loch stunning. It is in a great location for exploring the beautiful island of Skye and doing some of the walks. We had an incredibly relaxing holiday and are already planning a return visit. Joyce and Brian are the perfect hosts. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Perfectly located in Skye, the studio is the ideal place to settle for your time in Skye. Everything you would want to see is within suitable driving distance and is easy to find. The studio itself was much more than we could have wanted. It has been refurbished to a very high standard and we felt very at home throughout our stay. Joyce and Brian were lovely, just left us to explore but were keen to be on hand to recommend places to go. Such great value for money in a beautiful part of the world, and the neighbours (the family of seals in the bay outside the window) were pretty friendly too. I want to live here.

We had an absolutely fantastic week at Knott Cottage Studios. We stayed in Studio 2 and couldn't fault it - it was immaculate, surprisingly comfortable in size and extremely well laid out. It had everything you could possibly need for a week-long luxurious holiday - we honestly couldn't have asked for anything more. As well as all the essentials it was supplied with books, Dvds, board games, detailed walking guides...the list goes on!
The cottage is set in spectacular scenery and is ideally placed for travelling anywhere in Skye. Portree and Dunvegan are both ten minutes away in the car, and Portree has all the local amenities you'd need.
Joyce and Brian are the perfect hosts - they live on site, and are always on hand to answer any questions or help you out, but if you don't go looking for them you'd never know they were there. They're obviously professionals in this trade - they've got everything down pat.
As I say, we couldn't fault our stay, and we will definitely be back in the summer, if not before! -

We stayed for 10 days over New Year 2012/13 and we can't wait to return. We didn't know what to expect of Skye and Studio 1 and we can only say it's been brilliant. The studio has everything you could want and it's easy to lay your hands on it. Superb kitchen, everything in excellent condition. Lovely bathroom with powerful rainshower and oodles of hot water. Comfy bed and we must admit to spending a fair part of our time in the leather chairs in front of the loch view window - looking for seals, watching the light play across the water and recharging our batteries. Knott is a 12 minute drive to Portree for excellent grocery selection at the massive Co-Op supermarket - which has a great array of prepared food you can heat and eat. Knott was also a wonderful base for various drives around the island. Can't recommend it highly enough.

having never visited the isle of skye before, we had no idea what to expect. after 10+ hours on planes and in airports, we pleasantly surprised to be greeted by brian, who promptly showed us our accommodations. and what wonderful accommodations they were! the heated floors...the modern decor...the serenity and seclusion, yet close enough to portree and "larger" towns...and then the view!!! to top it all off, brian and joyce couldn't be any more friendly, offering us greens from their garden, lending us a battery charger for our camera when our power adapter didn't work, and tipping us off about the deer population for our early morning drive to the airport. we could not have asked for a better place! we will be returning again...and again...

Left on 09/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We were delighted with our recent stay at no 2 studio. Peaceful, but not too remote; Portree is not too far away. The owners left us alone but did tell us in passing to ask for anything we needed. That said, I would have preferred to have a basic introduction to the place and the heating system was unfathomable for the normal brain. We missed 4 months of apparent sunshine and it was getting chilly in the evening, some basic instruction would have gone a long way. It must be a difficult balance, not wanting to impose on someones vacation. We on the other hand don't like to bother people either and got a bit chilly in the evening. The property however, was very well equipped and the picture window looked out over the loch. Being able to scan the loch for the occasional wild otter from the comfort of the bed was a rare treat. There are 2 studios, studio 2 is at the end so completely uninterrupted. There was no sofa, just 2 swivel chairs which we thought odd as the potential to snuggle up and watch the sun go down was not an option. This might sound overly negative, but we really did have a fantastic time here, its in a great location with access to the north of Skye. Skye has to be the arts and crafts tea shop capital of Scotland and we must have visited nearly every one in a week, and visit Raasay, its beautiful. A sofa and some instructions on how to warm the place up would have given it 5 stars. Would we go back? Almost certainly. Its just that there are so many other places to visit..

Modern and private studio with far reaching views over loch through large picture window, with easy chairs to take in the view. Spacious and well designed with quality fittings in kitchen / living area and bathroom. Very comfy kingsize bed and bedding. Minor issues with heating and wifi dealt with promptly and without fuss by helpful owners. Easy access to Portree, but no shops nearby, so bring enough provisions to last the first few days - Coop in Portree is on the way and open until 10pm.

This is a well equipped studio in beautiful surroundings which Brian and Joyce are always improving. Very handy location for exploring the many and varied delights of northern Skye. Handy for wildlife, walking , climbing and general exploring. Take to the waves for sea eagles or do a day trip (Sat. only) with Calmac from Uig to Harris and Lewis, take the coach tour for some great views and historic sights. Plenty of eating, drinking places close by. If you want to splash out go to the Three Chimneys and for quality sea food the Lochbay at Stein is hard to beat. Brian and Joyce do all they can to make your stay enjoyable

We found the Studio very comfortable and well equipped; to enhance this there was the under-floor heating, a welcome treat when it was cold.
The location was stunning over looking the loch, the whole area was so peaceful and calm, all you could hear was the bird song, Even to hear the Cuckoo, which is so rare these days.
Joyce and Brian were very welcoming and helpful with guidance to views on the island to visit.
We would very much like to return to Knott for another relaxing holiday.
Thank you,

This was the second time my husband and I stayed at knott studio apartment and we were not disappointed it was as good as we had remembered. The apartments are beautifully situated with a stunning view of the loch and they come fully equipped with everything you would need. The standard of furnishings and equipment are excellent and well maintained. The owners of the studio are friendly and very helpful and are happy to chat and share their knowledge of local area and amenities available. I would highly recommend staying at Knott studios if you are visiting Skye which is very beautiful.

We just loved this place. We came to Skye for the first time to do some walking and this was the perfect place to be. Excellent location for touring the island, excellent accommodation, everything you need, so comfy, spacious and warm and we agree with other reviews that the shower is a welcome luxury. The views are spectacular and Brian and Joyce are on hand to help and advise if you need them. What more can I say... just loved it!

Great location on the loch side where the shore is strewn with Mussels. Rooms done to a high spec (including under floor heating). Location is close to decent walking in the Quiraing and the old man. It is also 5 minutes walk from a horse trekkng site. There is a pub about 5 mins in a car away. Stock up before you get there.

We stayed in studio 2 over the easter weekend (3 nights).
The studio is attached to studio 1, with the Heggies' cottage beyond that, and with nothing but a small brook on the other side.
It is constructed in such a way that it is very private, and it has it's own vista from the large front window, of the sea loch (Snizort).
The shore of the loch is only around 30 meters away, with a small croft between.
We saw plenty of bird life from the studio, and a short tramp away, along the peninsula, there lives a colony of seals (we counted 17 basking on the rocks).
The kitchen is fully equipped (We knocked up a couple of meals, and a Sunday roast), and all of the furniture (Chairs and bed) is very comfortable. It was warm and cosy too. -

We have recently returned from staying in the Knott studio flat and found both the location and accommodation perfect for our needs. It was a joy to return to the studio and to relax in the armchairs overlooking the loch. The studio was exceptionally comfortable and warm, with all mod cons and thoughtful touches. It was 'a home from home'. I would certainly recommend the studio to friends and hope to return again in the future.

Had a totally chilled out and relaxing stay in studio 2 at Knott. We found the studio to be cosy but spacious with an amazing view to the isles. We loved the light airy space it was lovely & warm inside even when the weather was stormy.
Everything was brand new, clean and the shower was great!
Found the location was ideally central & near enough to the main town - Portree for supplies & eating out. We managed to visit lots of places but still feel we would like to return to see more.
Our hosts were very friendly and had a lovely cat! -

The Studio was very well presented and equipped and the welcome was very warm. The greatest plus is the location overlooking a loch, with birds and the occasional otter. There is plenty of seclusion, but Portree is only 10 minutes drive with plenty of amenities, and the rest of the island is easily accessible.
