BurscoughExcellent location, average cottage
Left on 09/28/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The cottage is in a fantastic location with a large window in the lounge overlooking the sea. The fact that there was no shower, the fridge-freezer is behind the door and the kitchen needs bring up to date meant the cottage was only average.

Great location, just some tens of meter from the sea. Very remote. Panoramic views from sitting room. We saw seals and whales, and lots different kind of birds.
House itself is quite out-dated, and in need for refurmisment. And there is no shower, just bath. Also the distances to nearest shops and hotel etc are much further away that advertized. Nearest shop is 10 miles, and hotel/pub 4 miles.
Location is great for hiking. -

Wymondham, NorfolkOur escape to Skye
Left on 06/17/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The location is beautiful: the property is situated only a stone's throw from the sea and the view fron the large picture window in the lounge is fantastic! What appealed to us was the isolation and peacefulness of the place. Opportunities for observing wildlife, particularly the birdlife were excellent. When the weather was poor we used the lounge as a 'hide'and just relaxed. The property was comfortable and well equipped.
Criticisms: we could not obtain a signal from the salelite dish and so I could not watch the cricket although it is fair to say that we don't go to Scotland to sit in front of the box!Nonetheless this facility should be in working order. The external door leading into the kitchen could not be opened fully because the fridge/freezer prevented this. The property could have been signed more clearly at the top of the approach track.

YarmGreat position and outlook

Final giudance to cottage needs better directions, from where public road ends sign, directions could be better by saying first gate on left with sign private road, do not open is the one to open to the cottage and then drive to the bottom of the field to gate with the name of the cottage on it. It took me sometime with the help of the owner of No 30 to realise take it was the cottage at the bottom of the drive was the one I was renting. otherwise the only other comment I would make is the way into the cottage via the kitchen door is a bit limited by the fridge and wall cupboard

Bradford, West YorkshireA true get-away from it all holiday
Left on 10/25/2010 for a stay in June 2010
Booking was easy using the website, it took only minutes to secure our holiday. The property was clean and comfortable with a beautiful picture window overlooking the sea. Sitting on the sofa looking out to sea it felt like we were in the middle of the ocean. The location, although not completely secluded, is wonderful with a rocky beach just yards away, reached through the garden down a fairly steep slope, and the surrounding area a haven for wildlife. The port of Uig is about 8 miles away with a well-stocked shop and gift shops and the ferry to visit the outer islands. The best thing, though, is the serenity which surrounds the area even with the howling gale force winds which can't be heard inside the property and the worst - well, no one can guarantee the weather!
