ST Peter PortEverything we wanted and more!!!
Left on 10/18/2011 for a stay in August 2011
To anyone currently considering renting this property, my advice to you would be to stop conidering and start renting!
My partner and I stayed in the Domaine de Pemontier for four nights, and will most certainly be repeat customers in 2012.
The gite is very spacious and was exactly what my partner and i were looking for. We enjoyed a well presented and well looked after gite. Sandra, the manager of the property was extremely helpful and caring. We really felt like she went out of her way to look after us, and that included providing drections, taking my suit to the drycleaners (!!!), stocking the fridge with some wne, and beads etc, and just generally being a someone whocame across as very friendly and genuine. It was a pleasure to meet her.
Sandra is a credit to this type of holiday, and booking online. She made everything so easy from the booking process to the answering of all my questions.
The gite had a lovely bbq which allowed us to eat on the balcony while taking in the gorgeous views that were right on our door step.
We were fortunate enough to have the pool all to ouselves, which we enjoyed very much. Perfect way to start you day!
The location is great for visiting the Dordgne area, and there are also some very interestng nearby towns, which have great evening markets! There is so much to do.
I have not stopped smiling whilst writing this review as it has brought back some great memories. We will be back!
Anyone, any age, will enjoy this. 5 stars in every category- Sandra you do have something very special here! -

LondonA lovely property with lovely owners
Left on 09/29/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Myself and three friends stayed at Domaine de Pemontier for a week in July and had an amazing time. Sandra (the owner) made us feel so welcome and was very hospitable. When we arrived we didn't have time to go to the supermarket so Sandra kindly made us a lovely bowl of pasta and salad plus a bottle of wine to keep us going.
The property was very clean with all the required appliances including Sky to catch up on any news at home.
The area in which the property is situated is very quiet and tranquil and when the sun is out the pool area is the perfect place to relax. We hired bikes instead of a car so didn't explore as far afield as some might like, but we visited all the local towns and vineyards. A trip to Issigeac Market on Sunday and a tour of Monbazillac is a must and just getting to take in the local scenery.
I would recommend this property very strongly for families, groups of friends or couple.
A truly lovely holiday. -

Tokyo, JapanAn absolute gem!
Left on 09/26/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We (a group of 6 who have been friends for many years) stayed at Pemontier for 2 weeks and found it to be the rarest of all things – accommodation that actually provides what it advertises. The gites are located close to the picture postcard village of Issigeac and centrally placed for exploring the whole of Dordogne. All of our group of 6 had different interests and had no difficulty filling our days with sightseeing, eating, drinking. Our host helped organised the hire of mountain bikes which were delivered to the door and collected again a week later. She also gave us a lot of information, maps, etc., as to where to go and what to see and recommended some great local restaurants that were surprisingly well priced.
Pemontier suited us very well as it only caters to adults and couples as it is spacious and comfortable – we were 3 couples and never got on top of each other. We were delighted to find that we had exclusive use of an absolutely massive BBQ so most meals were cooked alfresco (though there is a full well-equipped kitchen). The area is great for walkers, and cyclists and the tranquil setting is quiet, pretty, quick and easy to get to from Bergerac airport. -

We had a fantastic stay in the small Pigeon loft gite. It had plenty of room, a well equipped kitchen and a very pleasant outdoor dinning area with bbq.
Sandra the owner was very kind and helpful with information about the area, places to eat and vineyards and chateaux to visit. She was even so kind as to stock the fridge so we had some food and drink in when we arrived.
The fresh baguette, cheese and wine was lovely touch.
Many thanks for such a great holiday. Hopefully we'll be back soon. -

toronto, canadawe spent a delightful week in this beautifully appointed gite
Left on 09/19/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We spent a delightful week at Domaine de Pemontier and thoroughly enjoyed the company of friends in this beautifully appointed Gite. There is room for eight with very spacious living and dining areas and a well equipped kitchen. We especially loved the meals we had out on the terrace with its view of the rolling countryside. The large swimming pool with its fabulous sunning patios was also a favourite place. The Gite is close to the medieval towns of Bergerac and Issegeac and we took advantage of the local markets and restaurants as well as further explorations of the Dordogne region. Sandra our host was most welcoming and relaxed and informative. We shall definitely return to Domaine de Pemontier!

MelbourneRural France - Must Stay
Left on 09/18/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My wife and I stayed at this charming gite for a week in late august 2011. The owners Sandra and Philippe were very obliging and friendly. They provided us with really great suggestions to explore the surrounding region and their knowledge of the local restaurants meant that we enjoyed a number of outstanding local meals - all very reasonably priced.
Having returned to australia we both agree that this gites was one of the real highlights during our seven weeks of travelling in Europe.
We stayed in the smaller of the two beautifully restored 16th century buildings - Le Pigeonnier, reflecting its original that used to house pigeons () which had two double beds - one upstairs in a rustic stone and timber chamber. It is obvious that Sandra has an eye for quality renovation so the interior of le pigeonnier and the external work visible to the larger building was obvious.
Our kitchen was well provided for with all the essentials to cook. This allowed us to use local produce on the occasions we cooked. The washing machine was a welcomed appliance as we were able to keep up with laundering our well travelled clothes. Although we did not use the TV it had access to Foxtel as well as the local French television. Most helpful was the offer of free wifi which allowed us to stay up-to-date with events back in australia.
The gites was placed within a peaceful rural environment which provided silence puncuated by cow and rooster calls. Very relaxing!
It was a hot summer so the availability of a sizeable swimming pool was greatly appreciated to cool down and to simply relax in the private space provided by the hedging. The sun lounges were certainly got a work out during our stay.
We arrived mid-morning and Sandra prepared a beautiful and fulsome hamper including the famous French Foie Gras (home made).

London, United KingdomWonderful Stay
Left on 06/13/2011 for a stay in June 2011
I stayed here with my family for a week's holiday. Sandra, the owner, made our stay so comfortable that we had a really relaxing and enjoyable time. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her and when we arrived at 10.30pm she had prepared a substantial meal for us complete with local wine and candles.
The area has so much going on and Sandra had lots of information about local markets, good restaurants and wine chateaux tours which she happily shared with us. The house itself is in large grounds, with country views and is very quiet, great for relaxing and chilling out on the terrace where we had most of our meals. There is also a large pool with lots of space and copious sun loungers for sunbathing.
We all agreed that we would happily have spent longer there and would highly recommend it for families or couples (there is a small cottage there too).
