I am renting out my apartment for short term visitors. The apartment is located in a restored and renovated historical building. Taksim Square is literally at your feet, 150 meters away. The next metro station and Istiklal Street are very close as well. The apartment is on 1st floor(without elevator),80 square meters in size. It is fully furnished with kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedroom(one of opened bedroom) and living room. Up to 5 people can stay here.
Many shopping stores, cafes, bars and restaurants are nearby. With public transportations you can get to all other parts of the city very fast and easily.

This place is very large (even for three people). Lots of space, nice location (only 3 minute walk to Taksim square), and clean and comfortable. Checking in was inconvenient as we had to wait almost a full day before we could get into the place. Once we were in, the water wasn't working, but I think that was an area problem, not only our apartment. The landlord is very nice and was exceedingly quick to address any concern we had. Recommended. If you're arriving in Istanbul in the morning, plan to check into this place in late afternoon. depending on who is staying there before you, you could have a seamless check in. Think we had bad luck.
A place so comfortable - it was like a home from home

Firstly, let me say just how helpful Isik (pronounced Ushuk), the owner is. Extremely helpful!!
Organised pickup from and to the airport for a nominal fee. Upon meeting up with him, just had that confidence that we'd made the right choice.
On the outside, the apartment does not look big. Appearances can be deceiving!!
When we got inside, wow, it was quite a length. With on-demand hot water for the shower, central heating which worked really quickly in warming the place up, very comfortable beds, great hob and microwave. It was like staying at your favourite relatives home.
Ideal location for Taksim Square, about 150m or so. Istiklal street was only a 5 minute walk away. Very handy for the metro so that you could get to Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque) and Sophia. You also use the same trams to get to the Grand Bazaar.
A great plus was the provision of an Istanbul travel card which you simply load up with some money. This cuts the cost of travel from 3 lira per leg to 1.85. Just scan it at the turnstiles per person.
Isik checked to make sure that we had everything and if we required anything. A very helpful and very accommodating chap!!
If there is anything that Isik can do for you, he will.
To get to anywhere in Istanbul, you are well connected here. The street is quiet and having the use of the wifi internet helped a lot!! Averaged about 4.5MB download speed.
Everything we needed, apart from food, was there. A big fridge with a good sized freezer compartment meant everything was nicely chilled, especially our drinks. A huge container of water that was renewed each week just added to the whole great experience.
Don't hesitate in making a query and booking this apartment. Would be more than happy to stay there again, if available for future visits!!

We stayed in two different flats, we were four people. We really enjoyed our stay. Isik was really nice to us as we could call him for any need, related or not to the apartment.
Everything you might need is available in the flat, and it's near Taksim, and all the public transport.
As we were 4 people it was really nice not to go to a hotel, the apartment offered us the possibility to be all together instead of being apart in each room.

We rented Taksim 1 apartment for a family holiday for a week in March 2012.
This is a nicely decorated old apartment only a few minutes walk from Taksim square. The place is spacious and comfortable.
You will find almost anything you need, from big household items such as washing machine, dishwasher and microwave to smaller ones such as hairdryer and even a bottle opener!
The owner Mr Isik is a very nice and friendly person. Our rental transaction was quick and smooth and he was always helpful and easy to get in touch with in case of any questions and queries.

When our trip was finally decided, I started hunting and the first thing I did on FlipKey was sorting the listings by popularity and going for the first one. Unfortunately, Marco did not have anything available for our dates, but he suggested to check and offer a friend's place. He said the owner is a nice young man and the location is great, but little did I know at that time that it was a lot more than that.
The apartment is just a few steps from Taksim sq. and yet in a more quiet, authentic Turkish environment. It's got everything you could want in a house, from wifi and microwave oven, to little things like a wine opener or hair dryer, even a big supply of drinkable water. It is exactly like the pictures here, decorated with beautiful old stuff.
We had a smooth check-in, check-out and we grew very fond of our home in Istanbul, specially now that we know we have someone we can trust there. In the middle of our trip, one of the girls became seriously ill. We called Isik and he was with us within 15 minutes. He ran to get a taxi but couldn't find an empty one, so he got the keys to the car of a store owner in front of the building and drove us to a near hospital. Thanks to him, she was properly attended to and cured and the trip was not ruined.
If you want to have a smooth experience in the heart of Istanbul as a local, and enjoy the benefits of friend in need, we definitely suggest Isik's place.
