1. The owner adem was very reliable. We asked for a lot of things and he tried to fulfill and made us comfortable.
2. I travelled with 4 children, 10, 7, 2 and 2 moths old baby, my 71 year old mother and of course my husband and we had a room on the first floor. It was not a problem even for my mother because the stairs are not high.
3. Many late afternoons, my husband brought my 3 kids to play and run around at the beautiful very green Gulhane Park which was literally across Gulhane Suites. I could relax with my 2 month baby in the apartment.
Every morning when I peeked through my window, I saw people /tourists made their way into the park or Topkapi Palace. Also very near to GulhaneSuites.
4. The owner adem and the lady cleaner were very helpful and reliable. We left our kids magazines in the apartment and only realised when we were back in Qatar. I texted adem to check the magazines and passed them to my sisters who were still around but not in Gulhanesites and he did just that!! Brilliant adem!!
5. The apartment is close to the tram stop. Very convenient for us with 4 children and an elderly.
6. I love the place because it is very lively.. the surroundings are very cheerful. 2 restaurants down our apartment... and a reasonably good laundry nearby too!! Just ask adem where things are and he will help you!! -

All aspects of this stay were outstanding. We were met at the airport and the apartment was clean and in order. The apartment was very solidly built, with excellent bathroom, kitchen and had good security. One bunk bed, one master, and the convertible couch/bed worked great for our family of 5. You could have 6 in here, but that would be the max.

Our total stay in Istanbul was 5 nights, and as we were traveling with an infant, we chose to stay at an apartment for convenience. Our stay and experience at Gulhane was definitely worthwhile and we would recommend, though there were some issues...
Start with the bad... on arrival, we were informed that the airconditioning of our apartment (#3) was not working and we were put up for the night at another nearby apartment, which was smaller and without the much-needed kitchenette.
The next morning, when we checked into Gulhane, which we loved on sight, as soon as the 3 of us- husband, me and the baby, sat on the double bed, it collapsed!!! We were, however, promptly moved to apartment #4 for another night until the bed was fixed.
There is no elevator and we had a big stroller. There was no place to keep it downstairs, and husband had to carry it up and down every single time... even if we were there for a half hour siesta.
Now, the good-
The location is fabulous. It is right in front of the Gulhane Park entrance of Topkapi, 5 minutes from Gulhane tram station, 5 from the Cistern Basilica, 10 from aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque. We even walked all the way to Cemberlitas annd if you're a walker, you can even go up to the Grand Bazaar!
The manager, Adam azar, was very helpful, courteous, accomodating and always available on his phone with prompt service.
The housekeeper, Sultana, was very sweet and friendly, and kept the rooms superclean. We found the trash cleared every time we returned to the room during the day time.
2-way airport transfer in a very comfortable Mercedes minivan was included in the rent.
Kitchen was fully equipped with all utensils, a cooking pot, a frying pan, paper towels etc and electric cooker, microwave, electric kettle and fridge. A bottle of water was provided.
Bathrooms were clean and well-equipped with towels, toilet paper etc.
As mentioned earlier, the rooms were spotlessly clean.
Hi-speed wi-fi internet was always available.
Apartment #3 had a decent kitchenette and living room as compared to #4, which had a very small kitchenette.
#3 had a room with a queen bed and wardrobe and another smaller room with a bunk bed only.
#4 had a room with a queen bed and wardrobe, and the second room was huge, with twin beds, wardrobe, and a baby cot similar to a pack-and-play (it was very clean, I'm a very finicky mom)
At the end, I'd say that inspite of the bad start which many people would have huge issues, overlooking that, we had a great stay there. -

It was a great apartment! We were so close to everything on the European side, and with having a toddler who needed naps, it was ideal! The apartment was clean, comfortable and had the amenities we needed to have a great stay. We agree with what everyone else had to say about the closeness of sites, ease of airport pick-up and kindness of owner. We were given a map of the city when we arrived, and that was a very nice addition. We highly recommend the apartment!

We were 5 people, 2 couples and a teenager. The apartment was an adequate size, bearing in mind there was only 1 toilet. Shower was good, beds were comfortable, even the couch in the LR for the teenager. 5 minutes walk to Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, Blue Mosque. Limited cooking equipment, but eatingi Istanbul is so cheap you don't want it for anything but breakfast anyway. Reasonable value for money. Owner was reliable about airport pickup and payment.

What a delightful little home so so close to everything which matters in Istanbul!! We would go out see one main attraction, like the Blue Mosque, then come home, after sweating and being in thick crowds, have lunch, rest in the cool comfort and go out again, lets say to topkapi palace. The same the next day... never tired or fed-up with sightseeing... only because this little enclave is only 5 to 10 minutes away each time!! There is a most awesome rooftop restaurant nearby (Panorama restaurant not far from the Basilica Cistern) It is an absolute must for a sunset and post-sunset dinner and drinks. Yes Gulhane Suites is great value for the money charged and the host is a very pleasant and helpful man. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!!

The airport pick up was perfect. The apartment we stayed was junior suites apartment Number-1.The flat was clean, bed was comfortable and there is a sofa bed in seating room. We were 2 adult and I child so it was perfect. Bathroom was quite small but well organized. Separate kitchen room as well. The flat is very close to major tourist attraction like blue mosque, Topkapi palace – 5/7 mins walk only if you have a child. Or else only 4-5 mins. Tram Station 5 mins walk only and from here you can take the tram to other attraction like taksim square easily. Lots of restaurant around even right next to the apartment. Manager adam welcomed us on arrival, help us with luggage and give us briefing about attraction and surrounding area. He is very nice person. He is reachable by phone all the time as there is no reception area in the apartment. I will recomand apartment 1 & 2 which are in first floor for the traveller with children as stair to the first floor apartment is not suitable for the children.

The free transfer was waiting for us at the airport. We were greeted at the apartment by adem who couldn't have been more helpful, supplying maps and area information and giving us contact details should we have any problems or need further information. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and in a perfect location. The apartment was cleaned daily and in our opinion was excellent value for money.

We stayed here with 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 2 years) in april 2011.
We were met at the airport with a very clean, large SUV. Ali the manager could not have been more helpful- he minded a bag for us as we traveled for a week after staying with him.
The apartment is very small- normal for an old European apartment, but it has been recently renovated and is very clean. We stayed on the lowest level- up one flight of fairly steep stairs.
It is right across the road from the gardens of the Topkapi Palace. It has restaurants beneath it and a tram running outside. We were never bothered by noise.
I thoroughly recommend staying here. -

From all the hotels i've stayed in Istanbul, this was one of the best hotels for the buck. Not only was the hotel extremely clean, it was also very comfortable. From the size of the large rooms, the beauty of the wall paintings, its enmities, and its smiling staff - they were all part of this positive experience. Most of all, however, was the hotels location. Located right next to Sultanahmet (Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet Mosque, Topkapi Palace), Beyazit (Closed Bazaar), Eminonu (Yeni Mosque, Galata Bridge) - are all located nearby for a fellow traveler.
With its positive staff, extreme cleanliness, great value for your pocket, its ideal location, and its comfort, I would definitely suggest this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Gulhane suites arranged our pickup from Sabiha airport and they were expecting us, check in went smoothly and the kind management offered us discounted tours and travel tips and information on the nearby location.
the suite was clean and we really liked it alot and the location was perfect.walking distance to blue mosque and the tram.
the management also provided us with a cell phone no. we can call 24 hrs if we need anything. would really recommend -

A very comfortable place for staying, and a great prime location near all the amusements with a walking distance to aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazar, and much more museums, parks, restaurants, and transportation.
It's a very secure place, and friendly staff, and I suggest it for the families.
Hope to visit Istanbul again and we'll stay in the same place. -

The suites are perfectly situated above a bar and restaurant in among the most hostoric parts of Istanbul. The tram runs right outside the door, and most of the sights are within walking distance -- though the tram is the very best way to get about further afield, because of Istanbul's traffic challenges. The suite was beautifully presented and very clean, and the landlord/manager couldn't do too much to assist us.
