Galata Amethyst Apartment is on a 4-story 19th century building. It's on the first floor. Very cozy, have high ceilings, hard-wood floors with walls in white. Apartment has 1 bedroom, living room, open kitchen and toilet with a shower. Recently renovated and refurnished Living room with a sofa-bed for 2. Bedroom with a comfortable double size bed. This building is 'rustic', the lobby and stairs not renovated. No elevator.
Just strolling around Galata would not show its delights like in most big cities, locals like their hangouts hidden. Many streets in Galata and around Tunel (like Asmalimescit) is where young Istanbul locals, foreigner...Read more

Galata apartment is very good located. It is exactly between Sultanahmet and Taksim square. So you can easily reach old sity at the one side, and Istiklal street with its bohemian spirit at the other. The area around Galata tower is charming and cozy. Appartment is situated in historical building of 19 century. Hayri (the owner) is very helpful and kindly person. Thank you, Hayri! Our stay in Istunbul was enjoyable. We will be happy to come back.

The location is incredible, it's in front of Galata Tower, a couple of minutes far from Istiklal Caddesi and just across Galata bridge. The owners are really kind and helpful. The district is very lively and exuberant, which is why you may need earplugs to sleep at night. The only drawback may be the bathroom which, apart from being a bit tiny, should be renovated. Anyway, nothing to be scared of! A wonderful stay in an amazing town.

Even the apt. Is simply furnished and rather small, the location is excellent.
The neighborough is lively and nice, but the apt. Is in a quiet street.
The only negative thing is the bathroom Tiny and not really confortable.
The owners are very helpfull and friendly -

This was my first visit to Turkey - i had a 5 day working break in London and I have always wanted to go - the choice of where to stay. This flat is lovely - in the heart of the old city Galata. The famous Tower is 2 mins away. Kitchen ,comfortable bed and the sofa bed was fine as well. The apartment overlooks a lane with bars, restaurants - you feel in the heart of a new culture. The apartment is beautifully heated, full of character and I can hardly wait to go back. Zumrut and Hayri are bubbly hosts - respectful of your space but always on hand to answer and advise. Our pane was late - Hayri was there - he took us to a great lane way bar for our first night. Will return - nice people and Turkey is wonderful
