Wonderful for those who want a longer stay and like to do a bit of cooking. Spectacular views, German kitchen, Italian furniture and design. Location is minutes from the end of the tram/funicular. Clean, quiet and small--only 6-7 rooms. Top two floors, with more space and a direct shot of the Bosphorus, are worth the extra cost.

Halden, NorwayThe perfect place to stay in Istanbul
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We (a couple from Norway) stayed at Deris from March 20th to 24th March, 2013. We were very satisfied and we can recommend Deris as the ideal place to stay if you are visiting Istanbul. Our apartment had a sea view, was spacious and very nice. It had the perfect location to experience the city and is a lovely and peaceful place to retreat to - Istanbul is a huge city with many people!
Before arrival we had printed out the map from of Deris´homepage, and gave the map to our taxi driver the airport. The driver had no problems finding place, probably due to the map. The house has a modest facade that can be a bit difficult to detect.
Before arrival, we also ordered the services purchase of necessary goods and everything was in place in the apartment when we arrived. Very convenient for us who are not familiar with the surroundings.
Just below Deris (70-100meters walk) is tram the stop. So very convenient! The tram system is surprisingly easy to understand, the stops are named after the great sights and this is the fastest and smoothest way to get around the Istanbul.
the staff of the Deris was very kind and service-minded, and they speak English fluently. We were also very pleased with the cleaning. All in all a great place that we have recommended to friends who are planning to visit Istanbul

I will surely book this place again when I visit Istanbul. The staff are very nice/always inquiring how they can make your stay more pleasant. They even ensured that I had requested groceries in the fridge before I landed, showed me how to navigate the town and gave me a bit of history lesson about the town. I love the hospitality. The apartments are very cozy, clean and modern. Walk to the tram, from the hotel, is only 5 minutes or less and you catch the ride to Sultanahmet or other parts of town easily. My son and I took daily evening walks and he had such a great time.

WashingtonDCamazing views in a great apartment
Left on 12/17/2012 for a stay in November 2012
My partner and I spent three nights at the Deri? Bosphorus Lodge and, simply put, we had an amazing time in a great apartment with an amazing view.
First of all, the hotel was a bit difficult to find because Google maps had it about a quarter of a mile down the street from where it actually was. We were going everywhere in that area to no avail because no one had heard of this hotel since it's so small. Actually, it's very easy to get to: you take the tram to the Kabata? tram stop (the end stop), then exit towards the funicular entrance where there is an elevator, then take a right out of the elevator, and there's a street that zigzags back called Inebolu... the Deri? Bosphorus Lodge is right there, about five buildings from the main street.
Once you get there, you open the door and have to go through what looks like an upscale Batcave. It was always fun to return home through this way, then you have to take two smaller elevators to get to the lobby. It sounds convoluted – and it is – but it's also somewhat luxurious and worth the effort, since you're basically getting above the surrounding buildings so you have a view.
By far, the best part of the lodge was absolutely amazing view across the Bosphorous. The picture I enclosed does not do it justice. We were on the fourth floor and had a little obstruction of the panoramic view. I would absolutely recommend getting a higher floor, even though that costs more money, as it is absolutely worth it. The room has open windows where you can just sip your coffee in the morning and gaze out across the Bosphorous and even see parts of Sultanahmet.
The room itself was also great, and it's like a home away from home since it's an actual apartment. The floors are heated, there are L'Occitaine toiletries, a rainfall shower, a full kitchen, the seating area, and other amenities that really made Deri? stand out among hotels in its price category.
I do a lot of hotel room reviews over the course of my travels, but I can't remember the last time I would recommend a hotel as much as I would for the Deri? Bosphorus Lodge. The next time I'm ever in Istanbul, I will absolutely stay at this hotel. -

Left on 11/29/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We had a very special week in the Panorama apartment on the 4th Floor. The apartment had so much space, was so well designed and appointed that it was perfect for our week stay (or to live in, in our dreams).
Special mention goes to the view of the Bosphorous, the busy port, the old city and the Bosphorous Bridge (which is beautifully lit up at night and the show can be watched from the comfort of the lounge area).
Finally, the staff made our stay that much better from their first friendly welcome on arrival and then all their helpful suggestions every day. -

Stayed in this hotel with a large group, we rented every room except one. The rooms and views were above our expectations, service was amazing and staff very friendly and helpful. My friend lost her earrings under the floorboards the day we were supposed to travel, the hotel contacted their maintenance personnel and retrieved them 3 days later and kept them safely for us for 2 weeks until we sent someone we know to take them.
Would stay there again and again, felt so cosy and personal! the only small tiny problem is there was no cleaning service on weekends...other than that, i give it a 10! -

Melbourne, VictoriaA Very Exciting Place to Stay
Left on 11/12/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Deris Bosphorus Lodge is a modern architectural gem of a building. One enters the premises through an intriguing solid door only a short walk from the convenient and famous Kabatas/Sultanahmet tramline. Then there’s a private tunnel (bright and cheerful) under a modern office block, a couple of glass lifts or a curving set of steps to take to the reception area. It’s a fascinating journey up to one’s apartment, and when one finally arrives there’s a view you’ll never forget. (And don’t worry if you can’t climb stairs, because there’s easy access the whole way via the lift system.)
I’ve stayed in some remarkable hotels in the past few years, but this is my most memorable. I would deliberately wake up during the night just to see if the Bosphorus view was still there. It was unbelievable! We had an apartment with views of the Bosphorus Bridge, the asian side and Sultanahmet. I doubt whether any hotel suite could provide such expansive views for the same price. Added to this, there was plenty of space in the apartment – a bedroom, family room/kitchen/small study area, a full bathroom and a powder room. There was an ironing board, washing machine and dryer, and a small dishwasher. The double glazed floor to ceiling windows on two sides and the fittings within give the apartment a crisp, modern edge. It’s incredibly comfortable and well laid out, and I’m not sure what more one could ask of holiday accommodation.
Serdar, the young man at reception, was extraordinarily helpful and always happy to give advice and print maps so that we could get to restaurants, etc.
Just a few steps from the front door is Kahve Dunyasi, a fabulous coffee and chocolate shop. -

This place is simply the best!! The apartments are lovely, the atmosphere of the whole place is just so pleasant and quiet, calming in such a bustling and vibrant city. A home away from home indeed.
Mrs. Ebru and Mr. Sardar were wonderful always greeting us with smiles, and going the extra mile to make us feel very welcome and at home. Thank you both very much.
The view of this particular apartment (apt. F) is a truely added value. Simply unbelievable in the early morning, at sunset, in the evening and all throughout the day.
Did I mention it is a great location to start from everyday, being just a 2 minutes walk from Kabatas tram, bus funicular and ferry stations...
We will definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends.
btw, if you come back to the apartment and find a bad smell, just open the bathroom window for a couple minutes and the smell is immediately gone.
instructions for the appliances and the knobs on them are in turkish, but google translate worked for us too and I am sure the hotel team will be pleased to help if you asked.
Just wonderful!!
Thank you Deris Bosphorus Lodge. Thank you Ebru. Thank you Sardar.
We are looking forward to come back...
Traveller's Tip on the area: The first thing you would want to do is walk down to Besiktas Bus depot past Dolmabahce palace and buy an Istanbulkart, charge it with about try 20 (new turkish liras) to get started using the public transport network of buses, trams, funikulars, ferrys, metros and trains... You will save over a third of the price as opposed to buying tokens, "jetons", for your transportation. 1 Istanbulkart may be used for any number of people... We were a group of 5 and used 1 card.
Also, for visiting the public museums (Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace Museum and Harem, Chora museum, Museum of archeology, etc.) try to get a museum pass for try 72 each (1 card per person) it will spare you the trouble of waiting in long queues at ticketing offices at these locations and save you a couple of dollars if you manage to visit all included museums. The card is valid for 3 days only, from first use. -

My husband and I stayed 7 nights in a Bosphorus View apartment. Tastefully decorated with contemporary furnishings and fully equipped kitchen (but no oven), it was a comfortable and calming retreat after days exploring wonderful Istanbul. Location is very good, although initially hard to find; easy access to funicular, tram, and Kabatas docks. Walking distance to Dolmabache Palace. Gracious and helpful advice given at front desk.

Left on 10/18/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Deris Bosphorus Lodge is the perfect stay in Istanbul. First off, the building itself is a small architectual piece of ingenuity with very nice and spacious apartments. We stayed at a Bosphorus View apartment which has a magical view of the Bosphorus and the Bosphorus Bridge.
The location is very central in Istanbul. It's a 10 min walk from Taksim square, 5 min walk from Dolmabahce Palace and if you like walking, even Ortaköy can be done on foot in 45 minutes. The rest of the city can be reached by tram or you can order a taxi at the reception.
The people at Deris Bosphorus Lodge are very friendly and are willing to help you out with any questions you might have. They took care of our reservations at several restaurants and showed us how to get around the city to some hidden gems.
I would book one of the apartments again in a second. Deris Bosphorus Lodge beats a lot of the luxury hotels in Istanbul as far as location, rooms/apartments and service goes...brilliant! -

We were greeted with a very warm welcome and very friendly staff. We stayed in The Panoramic view apartment which was spectacular. I never stayed in a place so Beautiful before. It's strategic location is excellent. The Tram, Finikular and Ferry Pier of Kabatas. You could practically go any where in Istanbul from this location, even ataturk airport. The 4 nights I stayed here were magical. To me I'd definitely come stay here again. Enjoy the night view from the apartment. It's wonderful. Believe me you won't regret it.

We picked the place for the views of Bosphorus. When we arrived we realized that the location was also great. In a laid back neighborhood with five minutes’ walk to:
¤ the tram going to Topkapi and downtown,
¤ the Ferry boat to the asian part of Istanbul
¤ the funicular going to Taksim square
The apartment itself was modern and equipped with all we needed - even a Nespresso machine.
We will definitely come back. -

Amazing appartments, amazing views
Left on 05/24/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We stayed 10 nights at Deris Bosphorus in two different apartments - Bosphorus View (F) and Panorama View (L4).
The apartments are well set out and feel brand new, there is plenty of storage and the facilities are exceptional - Nespresso machine in the kitchen along with new clean appliances.
Fantastic place to relax after a day seeing the sights with everything you could possibly need.
The metro line and funicular are a 3 minute walk from the apartments and at 2TL per trip great value. The ferry is 5 minutes away and will take you to the asian side or Princess Islands.
Taxies are variable, especially with understanding English so have reception write down the address to show to the driver - use the Metro or Funicular instead where possible.
All in all the location is just about perfect. The staff are just brilliant and always willing to help, usually replying to a ‘thank-you’ or ‘sorry’ with an oft heard phrase ‘it is not important’. We had the reception book our restaurant just about every night and nothing was ever a problem. Reception is staffed from 08:30 to 22:30 in two shifts, both are very helpful but the English is better 08:30 to 18:00 (all day Sunday is the night shift).
Two minor quibbles:
1. Wireless Internet is really unreliable in the Bosphorus View apartment (F) but much better in the more expensive Panorama View apartment.
2. There can be a drain smell in the bathroom especially after using the washing machine (Washing machine and dryer controls are all in Turkish BTW - Google translate got a work out).
This is the only property I have ever stayed in where the actual property is better than the photos on the website!Response from Deris Bosphorus Lodge - 05/31/2012

Personel is very friendly and helpful. The apartment was well équiped and comfortable, with breathtaking view over Bosphorus (provided you booked a sea view not lower than third floor). Every kind of public transportation ( tram, funicular, boat) is right down the building, leading easily to all major sites and places of Istanbul.
We regreated not to have readily understood this was not a regular hotel but apartements on leasing, with the necessity to make a so-called safety deposit, with no breakfast service at all, and room attendance every three days only. -

Overall great property.
I will start with the cons as they are few. The bed, to me, was way too hard. I like a softer bed and I just kept tossing and turning, although the sheets were very nice. Also as wonderful as it was, the floors were heated and I could not for the life of me figure out how to turn them off so the room was so warm.
Pros: perfect location, two minutes from the tram which saved us a ton (2TL per way) instead of a cab. Ten minute up hill walk to Taxsim (hopefully that is spelled right) which is so beautiful to walk up and down at night. The staff were very friendly, very accommodating for us. There was nothing else I could have asked for other then a fluffier bed :) -

This was a great place to stay and was in a great location. It's very close to the tram and furnicular lines and is easy to get to once you know where it is. The apartments themselves are beautiful, and if you have a "view" room, you won't be disappointed. The rooms are only attended to every three days.

London, United KingdomUltra Modern Short Term apartment Rental
Left on 09/30/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Me and my wife stayed here between 17th to 20th Sep. When we looked for a place, we wanted to experience something different. We had stayed in hotels in Istanbul before, like Swiss Hotel and The Marmara, but this time we wanted to experience Istanbul as a local.
Deris Bosphorus Lodge is located in the heart of Istanbul. It's on the european waterfront in a area called Kabatas.
To enter the building you'll have to walk through a passage, take a few stairs (20 or so, but an elevator also exists) and than you take another elevator to the apartment building. My first impression was nor positive nor negative when I saw this, but it made me wonder. Made me curious. Our flat was on the 3rd floor. I found out that there are 6 apartments here and that we we're getting the medium sized one. For 200 euros my expectations were high.
And man, the moment you enter the apartment. You realize that I have made the right decision. Very nice view of the Bosphorus. A very nice balcony with cute chairs and table. The kitchen was perfect. There were complimentary drinks in the fridge.
The bedroom was very spacious. The bathroom had those cool huge shower heads giving you a nice feeling when taking a shower.
When booking this hotel through booking.com, I was informed that there is no hotel service here. I was informed that there are towels and they will be changed every 3 days. I knew this was the case, but made me wonder why they can not change the towels and do the bedding everyday, if it's done every 3 days. Never the less we loved the location. The furniture's were all very well made. A nice lounge with big windows and the sound of the bosphorus. It was magnificent.
After our stay here ? can vouch that the transportation links are excellent. Just in front of the apartment there is tube that takes you to Taksim in 4 minutes. Taksim is were you find restautrants and shops. Next to the tube station Kabatas, you'll find trams taking you to old part of istanbul. The Sultanahmet (make sure you try the famous sultan ahmet meatball place), the mosques and of course the grand bazaar.
If you like privacy with keys in your pocket and do not care much of breakfast or room service, I would choose this over any hotel. Especially if you are a young couple and like cool , funky places to stay -

KuwaitThe Bosphorus side of Istanbul
Left on 06/24/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Deris Bosphorus Lodge was the intro of Istanbul, it took us to the bosphorus side, yet, we enjoyed all other activities taking place at the city.
the service is good, and the staff are so friendly, and very helpful.
we booked the Panoramic View apartment for 5 persons, and it felt like home so quickly. the view, the spaces, safety, it all ended to be a comfortable trip.
the location of the residence is close to the very known "Taksim Square" , yet, more of an isolated residence that brought the feeling of calmness all day long, and it being just in front of the Kabatash port made going to and from so perfect. the fact that it is newly built was kind of a lost factor for taxi's, but once you have a landmark next to it as a reference it made it so easy-going. the flat by it own, and within the context in which it is existing is just perfect.
Recommended for anyone who seeks comfort, peacefulness, and purity and Calmness in the busy city of Istanbul.
