Sleeps 2/3 or 4 include 2 kids under 7. 1 bedroom apartment in Istanbul. Centrally located close to Cezayir Street, which is full of cafes, restaurants which offers variety of entertainment and food.
If you see your days are not available on calendar or if you have a bigger group, please ask for any other rooms, because we have 7 flats in the same building with numbers of capacity for hosting 30 people at the same time.

Die Ferienwohnung liegt sehr zentral, ist mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel super erreichbar. Auch die vorsichtshalber mitgebrachten Ohrstöpsel wurden nicht gebraucht. Das Doppelbett ist sehr bequem, allerdings eher schmal. Die Dusche ist in den Wc-raum integriert, will heissen duschen ist etwas umständlich. Die Wohnung ist sauber und genügend geheizt, warmes Wasser war auch genügend da. Das Vermieterehepaar war ausnehmend freundlich, stand mit Rat und Tat zu Seite. Unbedingt den ausflugstipp Bosporus mit Busrückfahrt über Üsküdar beherzigen! Und in Kanlica am Hafen ein Jogurt essen:-) Danke ayden und Evrim

We didn't want to stay in a hostel, but also didn't have the budget for a nice hotel. This flat was perfect because it was affordable and it gave us extra space that we wouldn't have had otherwise. It was so nice to not be cramped in a hotel room for 10 days, I really can't imagine staying anywhere else. The flat is in a great location, close to the tram, close to Istiklal and Taksim, and Evrim and aydin are great hosts. They gave us a great homemade map with some of their favorite spots and we tried a bunch of them. All were definitely worth it. The building even has a really great restaurant on the top floor with a great view. The only downside of this flat is the very, very tiny bathroom, but we made it work and it definitely wasn't a deal-breaker.

Our apartment was more than we told have asked for! We had an amazing time in Istanbul, and it wouldn't have been the same without it. Evrim and aydin were extremely friendly and super attentive. The lovely map they gave us our first night is a cherished keepsake.

My wife and me stayed at this cozy apartment for 4 nights. It is an ideal starting point to explore the European side of Istanbul. Public transport is very close and all things that you need are nearby (shops & restaurants). The apartment was in very good condition. Interior, safety, cleanliness and equipment was all perfect. Evrim and aydin were very nice hosts. They did provide very useful information on the city, where to do what and where to go out for dining. The apartment is on the ground floor, so you are not really enjoying the greatest view over Istanbul, but this is not why stayed at this apartment. We felt always safe, welcome and in good hands with Evrim and aydin. We can recommend this 100%.

We spent 21 days in Istanbul. Avrim and aydin are very friendly, willing to help you out as much as they can and very informative about the whereabouts of the area. Our apartment number B1 was very cosy, clean and comfortable. It was a bit small as compared to the pictures. Heat, hot water and kitchen all work superbly. Kitchen had all necessary utensils needed for basic cooking.
It was noisy over the weekends because of the neighboring cafes, but subsides around 3 am. It didn't bother us much.
Apartments are located in an excellent spot for all sorts of transportation needs.
One thing that we didn't like was the Wi-fi signal and its inability to work at night. Morning time when the hosts are present the Wi-fi works fine.
Many satellite channels to choose from on the TV.
There is a small grocery store right across the apartment building that sells all sort of stuff including fresh produce.
Beware of the local shopkeepers though, the moment they find out that you are a foreigner they do not hesitate to charge extra for each item in your cart.
We enjoyed our stay in this history rich beautiful country with lots to see. -

My friend and I stayed five nights in this charming apartment. We had just finished an oat trip in expensively decorated hotels, thus my first impression of this owner refurbished flat was disappointment. Not what I thought. That impression quickly changed. It proved clean, comfortable, cozy and more. It was in a wonderful location. We strolled to the Grand Bazaar, a great day outing, and explored the many surrounding neighborhoods. Upon arrival, Aydin shared his fascinating family history and personally lead us on a short walking tour of the surrounding neighborhood, pointing out great places to eat and shop. He armed us with an excellent, hand drawn map full of good recommendation. Both he and his wife are wonderful, loving people making it very enjoyable to chat with them and share their home. A minor problem we had with the toilet was fixed quickly. We arrived at an unexpectedly early hour and a neighborhood grocer went out of his way to help us. If you want to experience the real character of Istanbul as opposed to the modern, high rise, tourist hotels, have honest conversations about life in this cosmopolitan city, and wander about active neighborhoods, I highly recommend staying here. A delightful home away from home.

This is an ideal apartment for a city break in Istanbul. The location is excellent, just five minutes' walk from trendy Istiklal Street, with its traditional restaurants and real Turkish atmosphere. Yet it is an easy and inexpensive tram journey (just five stops and less than £1) from the cosmopolitan centre of Istanbul, with its world famous sights, including the Blue Mosque and the wonderful Topkapi Palace.
Aydin and Evrim are ideal hosts. Aydin picked us up from the airport bus stop at Taksim Square and walked us through Istiklal Street, pointing out the best places to eat fish, ice cream, pistachio baklava, even Turkish pizzas. Over a cup of tea we discussed our experiences in other areas of Turkey and our plans for Istanbul with both aydin and Evrim, who kindly provided three excellent hand-made maps of the area.
The apartment was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It also boasted the all-important wifi and English channel TV. An added bonus was the fantastic restaurant on the top floor of the building (one of aydin's tenants). We were totally blown away by the view of Istanbul by night, as well as the superb food and relaxed atmosphere.

Nice small apartment, has everything needed for a couple of people to stay in. The owners are very helpful and conscientious. Location is good, lots of bars and restaurants around and a tram stop about 10 min walk away. Good value for money also.

My memory from Istanbul is an amazing one also owing to our hosts.
They astonished me from the first moment when they picked up by bcar from the bus station. They were very hospitable and kinds , providing us very detailed maps of the location, with clear points to keep in mind, personalized for our location. In the first evening, they took us for a walk in order to show us the surroundings, shortcuts and recommended us where to eat traditional food.
Regarding the apartment,it really looks as in photos, it is spacious and comfortable, perfect for 3 persons ,we had even salt and pepper in the kitchen, and shower gel for the bathroom. the only disadvantage was the bathroom, which was small enough. but not so small in order not to be able to use it properly.
All in all, we were extremely satisfied by the flat, services (wireless access and permanent support from the owners, cleaning at 2 days) and especially great hospitality.
I kindly recommend it! -

We stayed here for 4 nights in early September 2012. Aydin kindly agreed to pick us up from the airport at 5am (for the same price as a taxi), and made us feel at home. The flat itself is nicely decorated and clean. The only negative is that the bathroom is absolutely tiny - okay for a few nights but it would have done my head in for a longer stay! There is some noise from the restaurants/cafes, although with the white noise of the aircon on low we managed to sleep through this ok. The bed has a footboard, so beware if you are tall - I'm 6'3" and struggled a little!

The apartment is cozy and perfect for a pair of travelers. It's close to a variety of excellent restaurants and has easy access to transportation including a taxi stand and a short walk to the tram. There are not so many right words in English to describe our impression, feelings, attitude towards to our stay in Istanbul for 2 weeks. It became possible with charming, hospitable and kind people like Evrim and aydin who are the owners of the appartment. They always concern about your staying and even ready to make your wishes true. What I was impressed ther most is the tiny car of aydin that could carry so much and so heavy stuff. If you would be so kind, Aydin can provide the airport pick up and drop off. : ))
By the way, this appartment is not the only they have at the same compound. So they have over 6 other appartments with different price and different conditions. So just go ahead.
The appartment is nice, cozy, good for a familly with 2 little kids. It is perfectly located, just in the heart of historical Istanbul. 7 min to Istiklal by walk, 5 min to tram station, 15 min to Beshiktash sea port, etc. Nearby there are many grocery shops where you can find everything, You don't like cooking yourself, then you find many small cafes around with delishes semits (traditional turkish pie).

First the good---Aydin and Evrim were absolutely lovely and the apartment is beautifully renovated and centrally located. We had a wonderful vacation in Istanbul, in part thanks to the many helpful activity and restaurant suggestions provided by aydin and Evrim.
Unfortunately, while we were there, the apartment was facing a major bug infestation. Every morning, we woke up to find at least six dead/half-dead roach-like bugs scattered throughout the apartment. Our last morning there, we woke up early to catch a flight, and got to see the little critters in action---there were at least a dozen roaches scurrying around the apartment! It is a testament to the apartment's otherwise outstanding characteristics that I'm even giving the rental two stars in light of the roach problem.
Evrim and aydin were very apologetic about the bugs, and promised they were taking the problem very seriously. If they are able to address the infestation, I would happily recommend this unit to a friend---it really was lovely. No one can imagine how heartbreaking situation it was for us, as it was for you. We had some issues before you, we disinfected the flat, it is obvious that we couldn't have make it. After you we disinfected again and hopefully we will achieve this time. I wish you could let us know before, so we could take you some other places of ours. But there is no excuse. We have a reputation on tripadvisor and flipkey.com thanks to our guests, and probably you have been convinced through them. So, I'm sure you also believe us that the situation was not happened willingly or we have cheated you.
The reviews before yours are 20 excellent, 9 very good. So, this cannot be a coincidence. So, I assure everyone we are working on this and you'll not be disappointed. We have hosted near 1700 people from around the world in our 6 flats, we will open 2 new ones this year, thanks to our guests we have 147 reviews in total, most of them 5 stars, because we don't accommodate foreigners, we host our friends from all around the world.
Dear Katie, as a resume, please accept our apology once again and before I let you know about everything is perfect again, don't even think we are recommendable. I will write here everyday if we finished or not.
March 22nd - No bugs.
March 25th - We are disinfecting with highly poisoned insecticide. The flat will be closed until 29th of March.
March 28th - After the disinfection we found 3 dead one inside, we isolated all cracks on the walls outside and inside. It looks we achieved this time. Tomorrow, I'll write the last situation. Expecting no sign from these frustrating bugs.
April 2nd. Unfortunately from last week until today we had few more bugs again. That directed us to search the holes or cracks again and we just realized we missed a hole under the toilet, because it was an closed one, nothing was seen, we removed it and found the little wholes under it. We changed some parts and fixed it. Waiting for tomorrow.
April 4th. This is day one with zero bugs after a while. Thanks God. It looks we fixed the situation. Because we found every whole and crack. Also the professionals are coming today. They will disinfect as a precaution again. On 7th we will have new guests and after their review, I'm hoping everything will be back to normal.
April 12th. Waited to be sure. And we made it. The bugs are over. We also got a professional help, and we finished the situation. After a while hope you'll read the next review mentioning nothing disturbing.
July 2nd. For any case I'd like to add another explanation. The bug situation has over. We are having our guests and they are all happy. -

My partner & I stayed for 13nights. This was our 1st trip to Istanbul.
It was a superb & unforgettable experienced we've had.
The place was nice and comfortable with necessary kitchen requirement, central heating (it was winter) and easy access of transportation to anywhere from tram, metro & taxi (Galatasaray taxi booth was just few steps at the corner of the street). There was mini-mart (Hilal Market) right outside our door (so additional groceries was within reach).
The only set back for the apartment was the small washroom (combination shower/toilet) - However, we can live with that. : )
The best part, Aydin is so generous that he pick us up at the airport on arrival at 5am..!
After a short rest upon arrival, he provide an orientation around the neighborhood right to Istikal Street.
He fix the missing bulb on the lamp and arrange to install the curtain right away!
His wife Evrim, was no less equivalent. She assisted us to source and arrange for a reliable tour agent to Mount Uludag and provide us with the extra comforter and pillow that we requested.
Their kind and helpful assistance are great example of Turkish hospitality.

My fiance and I stayed at aydin and Evrim's apartment for a week in October 2011. The apartment was in a great location for us with many of the sites we wanted to see in walking distance. A taxi rank was easily found at the bottom of the street and about 5 minutes walk away were the tram and bus stops. The apartment is surrounded by places to eat out and it was quite noisy on the Friday night of our stay, but this had been expected.
The apartment was just the right size for us, comfortable and spotless. The combined toilet/shower was quite small, but still totally functional. There was a private outside area which was ideal to drink çay in the morning.
Aydin and Evrim are a helpful and pleasant young couple and we would certainly contact them again should we return to Istanbul.

We stayed at aydin & Evrim's 1 bedroom apartment & were rewarded with the most gracious & accomodating hosts! The tour of the city with Evrim upon arrival was most helpful in getting our boundaries & we felt very comfortable right from the start with their willingness to help in every way possible. We got the feeling that it was important to them that we enjoyed & learned of their city & we had a wonderful time doing just that! The Turkish people are most friendly & we can't wait to go again!
The location is close to the funicular(about a 10 minute walk)& lots of shopping & eateries. The apartment is comfortable & modern & we used the kitchen quite a few times for cooking meals.

This apartment was perfect for our 5 night stay in Istanbul, we wished we could have stayed longer! With its own separate kitchen, loungroom and bedroom the apartment gave plenty of space to feel like we were truly living in Istanbul, rather than the cramped conditions of a hotel. Its location couldn't be better, walking distance to everything and also close to public transport. Evrim and aydin were fantastic hosts, showing us the local surrounds and offering to help with everything we needed. Thanks for making out time in Istanbul so good!

We only had 3 nights, but aydin made it easy to understand the area and we never got lost. He recommended many good restaurants and gave us a some insight into Turkish culture. The apt is in a noisy area in the middle of the nightlife (which goes to about 1am). However we were eating and going to bed late so it didn't really bother us. Getting to the historic area is easy, just a 5 min walk plus 10 minute tramride. Only drawback for the apt was the small combination shower/toilet. I would stay again, no doubt.

We would highly recommend this appartment. Its location is excellent for seeing the sights of Istanbul and there are lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The appartment is comfortable providing all you need and aydin and Evram could not have been more helpful. They are extremely knowledgable about the area and are always more than happy to help. They even assisted us with our onward travel and recommended places to see/stay.
Unlike staying in a hotel you end up feeling as though you have had a taste of living in Istanbul. -

My 18yr old daughter and myself went to Istanbul and stayed in this lovely, very well situated flat. The neighbourhood was prime for evening activity and incredibly convenient to everything we wanted to see and do. Ayden and Evram are wonderful people who go out of their way to ensure their guests enjoy themselves and are well looked after. I have read comments that the washroom/shower situation is less than ideal, but we did not have any issue with it, especially as the bedroom had a large mirror and vanity so we did all 'getting ready' there. This flat is ideal for 2-3 people who want to feel like they are living in Istanbul during their stay. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

I have stayed in many places in Istanbul over the last three years, and I found this flat to be the most welcoming so far. It is a short walk from the famous street of Iskital which is popular for walking about, shopping, eating, and drinking. A short ride on public transit will take you to the Sultanahmet district to explore Top Kapi, the mosques, and other historical places. When you get there the owner aydin will greet you and take you on a short tour of the area. He speaks excellent English and is friendly and helpful in every way. The flat is clean and modern and has wifi access. The bed is comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need for eating in. The bathroom does not have a separate shower stall - the shower head is on the wall, so when you shower most of the bathroom will get wet. It is not difficult to use, but I am mentioning it because some people are not used to this style. There are restaurants and clubs near by so you may hear music at night, but it is not disruptive. I stayed there a week and I was very happy with everything.

We stayed here for four nights and were Istanbul first-timers. The apartment was ideal for us - a great base from which to explore the touristy and not so touristy sides of the city (which we mostly did on foot), and still impeccably clean, modern, safe and cosy enough to relax in after we came home.
Must-visits include the restaurant on top of the building (incredible views), the bars, cafes and antique / curiosity shops of the Cihangir neighborhood and breakfast in Van Kahvalti Evi about ten mins walk away.
Aydin is a great host, waited very late to let us in on the first night after a delayed flight, explained what there was to do in the neighbourhood and felt like a caring and trusted local contact in case anything went wrong during our visit.
All in all a brilliant alternative to staying in a hotel for an opportunity to experience a little of what it must feel like to live in Istanbul. -

The apartment was clean and comfy and had everything we needed. A well equipped kitchen, a very cute and comfy lounge, with a telly and CD player to listen to all those CDs we bought, and a bathroom (small but managable) as well as a lovely and clean bedroom with a double bed. We had fresh new towels every 2 - 3 days, and our garbage taken out regularly. We felt welcomed. The hosts, Aydin and his wife, were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Due to the fact that we were there for a long time (2 weeks) we were also collected from the airport, and then also later dropped off when we left. This was much appreciated. We had a very good stay in the apartment and enjoyed the place immensely. No complaints except for the late night party noises on weekends but these were not such an issue either. The apartment was within walking distance to all the main shopping places and restaurants as well as within walking distance to Taksim and tour buses.

Loved the location - every direction offered something different from small indie shops to the main glitsy shopping avenues to the walk down to the trams thru the old Pera district - not to mention up the stairs in the back of the building - wham! but I won't spoil it for you. Even the friendly owners have a quirky little shop next door. Apartment fine except personally I'd prefer a smaller kitchen (who had the time or wish to cook?) and a bigger bathroom which was difficult to use. Owner came to walk us to the flat from main sq. which was kind. No view but it didn't matter.

I spent three days at this flat in early June. I loved the location...walking distance to everything in the Taksim/Istikal CaddesiGalata area and very close to a Tram stop. The living room was cozy and inviting, the kitchen well equipped for quick breakfasts or even preparing meals. The bathroom is small (toilet/sink/shower combination) but the water was always hot! Bedroom towards the back of the flat had no direct sunlight but there were good reading lamps on both sides of the bed. What really made my stay were the owners, Evrim and aydin. They were gracious hosts, gave me very detailed information about the area and Evrim took me on an hour+ 'walking tour' on my arrival to give me tips on grocery stores, restaurants, and transportation. They both went out of their way to help me with my numerous questions and inquiries. A very positive experience!

Nous avons séjourné avec plaisir pendant 10 jours dans cet appartement bien situé, à proximité d'Istiklal, et d'où l'on peut facilement rejoindre la ville ancienne, soit en flânant à pied par le pont de Galata, soit en empruntant le tramway, assez rapidement accessible à la station Tophane. L'appartement est accueillant, bien conçu, propre et correctement éclairé. La petite salle d'eau offre l'essentiel et le lit est confortable. De nombreux petits commerces à proximité, dont une épicerie située juste en face, permettent de faire facilement les courses. L'accueil chaleureux et la disponibilité d'Aydin et d'Evrim contribuent à l'agrément du séjour et à la découverte du quartier. C'est un appartement que nous recommandons et où nous reviendrions volontiers.
We stayed with pleasure during 10 days in this well placed apartment, near Istiklal, and where from we can easily join the old town, either by strolling on foot by the bridge of Galata, either by taking the streetcar, rather quickly accessible to the station Tophane. The apartment is welcoming, appropriate, conceived well and correctly lit. The small bathromm offers the main part and the bed is comfortable. Numerous small businesses near, which a grocer's shop situated just opposite, allow to go shopping easily. The warm welcome and the availability of aydin and Evrim contribute to the enjoyment of the stay and to the discovery of the district. We recommend this apartment and we would return there with pleasure.

Location was perfect. Very close everything. It was nice to walk to see Sultanahmet area. Just two steps to Istiklal Caddesi. Tram was also very near.
Flat was cosy and enough big for two people.
Evrim and aydin Balcik were helpful and friendly.
The flat was good choice. We had wonderful holiday in Istanbul. -

We spent one week in aydin and Evrim's apartment. I preferred staying outside of the main tourist area in their neighborhood of Beyoglu. There were many restaurants and shops to walk to. If you head up hill towards Taksim you will find many places. It was very easy to get to Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, etc). You could either walk or take a tram which is just a few blocks from the apartment. It is also a quick walk (ten minutes) to get to the ferry that will take you to the asian side. We really enjoyed taking the ferry to Kadikoy. It's a fantastic neighborhood with a great market and much more of a local feel with more authentic things to buy, cheaper bars and the incredible restaurant Ciya. A few more details about the apartment in Beyoglu: a well equipped kitchen, living room, small bathroom, movies, books and TV. The space isn't super large, but more than enough for two people. My only criticism is that because it is close to a busy street of cafes (very convenient), you can hear the music at night. It usually ended by midnight or so. It didn't bother me too much, but if you are a very light sleeper, this might be a problem. Other than that, I would say this is a great apartment at a great value. The owners are also really helpful and go out of their way to answer any questions or help you out with whatever you might need.

Our apartment couldn't have been located in a better place. Right in the heart of the residential neighborhood of Beyoglu, it provided the true flavor of living in Istanbul yet was walking distance to Istiklal street, restaurants, bank, market, and the tram stop. We actually walked to/from the Sultanamet area several times, although there is a convenient tram stop just down the hill, too. The apartment was appointed with every necessity, a nice, new kitchen, and individual design touches. Aydin and Evrim were gracious hosts, full of wonderful information, easy to contact, and even provided us with convenient transport to & from the airport. A wonderful experience for our first visit to Istanbul - we dream of returning one day, and are already recommending the Balcik's apartments to our friends considering a trip to Turkey!

This apartment is a great find in the heart of Istanbul. It is right on the 'french sector' with great french restaurants at your door. The main shopping street is very close as well as lovely restaurants. The tourist attractions are easily accessible by transit and there is a lovely neighborhood that specializes in selling antiques close by. It is highly affordable for the location, size and amenities in Istanbul. I highly recommend it.

Great flat in the middle of the action...bar and restaurants are just at your door step.
Very interesting area to walk around in the day too.
Hospitality is great, and the flat is definitely good value for money, compact but efficient !

The flat offers an absolutely amazing position in Istanbul right in the centre of one of the tourist area. From the flat all the best Istanbul offers is within easy reach. With the tram station so close, we had just an easy time exploring this wonderful city.
Combined with the excellent position of the flat, the overall service was first class. We were picked up from the airport late on the evening of our arrival. Aydin really made us feel at home and their service is great.

Mr. Adyan Balcik met us at the airport we were pleased by his help and being friendly and honest.
The apartment was nice sufficiently equipped. The location was excellent and in easy walking distance to a lot of shopping and activity areas. The best was the location of the apartment and the good services, the least is that the apartment had high humidity moisture and lacked central heating system. We are looking forward to visit Istanbul again and using Mr.Balcik service

Thank you Sherif. They were the second couple who trusted us, there would be a flat there awaited for them with seeing only the ruins. Thanks to their trust we could make it. Of course you can understand what could be a problem after you did something. Yes, the humidity was the problem. Now we have a dehumidifier in the flat, it is collecting the humidity, and also after our current guests leave the flat, we will change the glass on the window with new ones which an aspirator would be applied on it. So, it would be better. And when they were here at the beginning of May, it was cold. We will furnish the heating system after August. Now, it is hot enough in Istanbul.
P.S. We installed the new glasses with aspirators. We can say the humidity problem has been solved. 05 June 2010. -

We loved this recently completed apartment. It has loads of personal touches like slippers to wear inside the house, a set of steps to reach the cupboards in the kitchen and even fresh flowers. The bedroom is stylish if a little cosy, the kitchen is perfect for all holiday requirements and the lounge/diner is airy and spacious. We would have liked somewhere to place toiletries in the bathroom but we are sure that had we mentioned it to Aydin or Evrim it would have been majicked instantly, such is the attention to details of this delightful and welcoming couple.
We spent 10 days exploring Istanbul with important facilities such as trams, buses and ferries within easy walking distance. The covered bazaar and spice markets, Galata Tower and Bridge are easy to walk to and the Istanbul Modern is definately worth a visit. Local shops include a butcher, bread shops and grocery store and make self catering easy although the area is teaming with restaurants and we would definately recommend the Terrace on the roof! Fabulous restaurant with magnificent view, great food and we caught fantastic live music at the weekend.
As pensioners (aged 60 and 78) we loved being part of this incredibly vibrant area and had an unforgetable holiday in this delightful apartment. Well done Aydin and Evrim. and thank you!!
