Lush Houses Galata liegt sehr zentral, super ausgangslage. Das Garden apartment ist geräumig, komfortabel. Allerdings dunkel, kaum Tageslicht, da es auf Kellerniveau liegt, zwar ein paar Stufen zu einem austritt in den "Garten", der keiner ist, also nicht nutzbar! Im Schlafzimmer gar kein Tageslicht. Einrichtung: Es fehlt eine Kaffeemaschine, sonst alles nötige vorhanden. Das Einchecken war sehr nervig, da der Code nicht angenommen wurde.

We stayed at the Lush Houses Galata for a three day stopover and were very happy with our choice. The management of Lush Hotel pre-arranged roundtrip airport transfers, a really good idea as navigating the windy, hilly streets is a challenge! But once there, the location is perfect -- close to the Galata Tower and an easy walk to the Istiklal Caddesi, the Galata Bridge or the Istanbul Modern -- and there are many places nearby to buy supplies or eat out. Our apartment was perfect for us with good cooking and laundry facilities. We did not get to enjoy the roof patio due to the time of year but would certainly take advantage of it in warmer weather. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been to have some basic staples such as salt and pepper in the kitchen. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Istanbul!

We stayed at the Lush Houses Galata for 5 days in November/December 2012. We had a great stay in this apartment. It was nicely equipped with everything you would need, including washer and dryer. Additionally, there was a very large living room with multiple couches that gave you plenty of space to spread out and relax after hours of exploring the city. Centrally located, it is a 5 minute walk from the Metro, the Tramway, the Galata Bridge and two full grocery stores. Additionally, there is a very nice shared roof deck on the top of the building. The internet is robust and easy to connect to and entry to the building and your apartment is provided via unique code. To obtain the code, you must email a signed contract back to the Lush reservation prior to your arrival. That contract landed in my spam folder the second time they sent it and I never received the first. Once I realized it was in my spam folder, it was painless to email it back to them and receive the entry code and the internet code. Additionally, the housekeeper comes by after three days -- but was willing to come back at a convenient time for you if it's early morning or late afternoon and you want to use your apartment. Overall, a great stay in a great apartment.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday in Turkey. The apartment itself was better than expected but unfortunately the service spoilt our overall perception.
The apartments are of a good size and well appointed, our bedroom was pretty quiet (a few rowdy people but that's what you get on a weekend in the centre on Galata) even though it was the bottom floor of the building and right on the street. The roof top was a great view and our little garden an added bonus.
Our issue was this, the apartments are associated and/or owned by the Lush Hotel in Taksim. You are not met by anyone but the day before they send you a code to let you into the building which is fine. In a normal situation there is a person to contact for issues or information but the apartment here has a phone which offers a line to the hotel in place of the normal personal assistance.
In my first experience with this I contacted them for the internet code and they were more than happy to help. On my second it was a different story. I called to arrange transport to another hotel for my husband and for myself to the airport Lush Galata is close to the tower but for a non turkish speaker difficult to explain or pronounce the address so assistance essential. I asked the guy what was available and after some discussion he said as he was new he'd call me back with the details. After an hour or so and about an hour before we were due to leave I called back to query what the arrangement options were. He told me he'd arranged a car and it would be 70 euro or 160 TL for my transfer. I said this sounded overly expensive and asked him to order a taxi for me instead. I was told they didn't do that for apartment guests the price was close to a taxi anyway. I told him based on my experience it was 60 TL more than we'd paid previously and said his service was poor and our review would reflect this and hung up as it was obvious he wasn't willing to help with anything they wouldn't make a cut in.
Ten minutes later he called my husband's cellphone and they proceeded to have an argument about my phone call, he was rude to my husband about me and lied that I'd called just for a private transfer and not a taxi when I had clearly asked for options including also a shuttle and he was supposed to call back with details. This was riddiculous and pointless and just infuriated us more as my husband had overheard my call so knew exactly what I had said. In the end we got nowhere and decided we'd just have to walk our luggage down the steep hill to the main road and flag a Taxi there, not a pleasant prospect.
Fortunately for Lush apartments and the reason why they got a 3 star and not a 1 star score as we were lugging our bags out the front door we ran into a staff member for the apartments. He asked us if we were checking out we said yes and asked where was the best place to get a taxi from. He said no you can't walk down with your luggage and said he'd arrange one for us now (this is a paraphrase of what was said cause his english was not great but with gestures etc we communicated what we needed). Within 5 mns we had a taxi there who took us both to our stops. A note in the end he actually organised the taxi through the reception at the hotel who wouldn't help us previously - totally weird!
Advice for tourists to Istanbul.
- Don't accept flat rates from Taxis, these guys are sharks and the real taxis always use a meter, say no and wait for the next.
- Always make sure there is someone at your accomm to book your transport to the airport or you could end up with one of these sharks.
- From Galata to both airports it shouldn't cost more than $100 TL by taxi. Your fare should be about $85 - $90 and the tolls around $10. Everyone tells you $120 but all 3 trips cost us less (this may depend on rush hour traffic though) -

i highly recommend it as a boutique apart-hotel...great location: right at the heart of istanbul.. good up and coming neighbourhood in terms of cafes and art galleries.. good for families with young kids...
