100 year old house, built on 3 levels, in a lovely area of Istanbul that is central and very close to the center (Beyoglu area) while still being quiet. 2 bedrooms, 1 &1/2 baths, full kitchen and space to sleep 5. The house is full of character and furnished with ethnic wood furniture. You will be surrounded by antique shops and cafes plus public transportation by either tramway or bus is walking distance. This is a great place for family since the bedrooms are on separate floors and you will have privacy plus an open kitchen/ living room area to socialize in a bright and open area.

Left on 04/20/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We were met by Shellie at the house, (even though the flight arrived late), then shown around house and the immediate area - including a lovely local restaurant. Superb location for exploring an historic and eccentric area (with good shops!), slightly away from the busiest tourist areas, but still walkable (just) to the main sites in Istanbul. Despite this close proximity, it was a lovely and very quiet location at night!
The house is lovely with everything thought of: clean, well equipped kitchen area, comfortable beds (very important!), fast internet access included (ditto), washing machine, heating (& cooling, which was not required whilst we were there), excellent showers (yippee!), very secure and yes, quiet.
This is a very hilly area, so plenty of exercise possible, walking up and down the steep and often narrow streets. There are many antique shops close by, plus smaller stores for essentials, but the main shopping area is not far either.
I would not recommend having a car here (it's difficult to find if you are unfamiliar with the area), but then I would not recommend having a car in the central area of Istanbul anyway. It's not necessary, with plenty of taxis and an excellent tram service nearby.
Overall, a real find and we would certainly stay there again. (I just hope this review doesn't result in it being fully booked up all the time now!)
