Description from the owner

On a hill that gives shelter to the small village of Peroj there's our small heritage, a piece of land left to us by Grandma Margherita. Once a meadow purely for the grazing of Istrian cattle, today an oasis of peace and quiet for those who want to escape the chatoic city and the stress of every day life. In this immense greenery lies Casa Margherita, with a beautiful garden where children can play undisturbed. Just a few footsteps from the house, across the garden you enter the orchard, where surrounded by a pleasant shade you can take short walks, taste seasonal fruit or even read a book. Nearby there’s the olive grove that hides th...Read more

      Good choice for Istria!

Left on 04/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We had a really great time in Istria. The appartments are all in a very good shape. They are clean and there is enough room for 4 (or2) people. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Both are really good cooks. From the house you have a good view to Groznjan which is just a five-minute-walk apart. The destination itself is quite good because all hotspots of Istria can be reached within an hour. All in all: A very good choice for a fair price. - Andreas and Susanne from austria

      Stunning views of Groznjan

Left on 03/12/2013 for a stay in July 2012

While traveling through Istria, we spent some time at this lovely villa which is in walking distance to the stunning midieval city Grosnjan. Grosjnan is one of the most beautiful hillside cities I have experienced in all of Europe. We enjoyed the live music and delicious meals made with fresh local ingredients.

We just loved walking through the gardens, swimming in the pool and enjoying the stunning views. The setting is that which can only be found in Croatia.

The villa is immaculate and comfortable. We cannot wait to go back. Next time, I will bring some friends. What another great trip that will be.

Thank you, Lorena and family for opening up your home to us.
      Joanne

A beautifull house in tremendous surrounding

Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed there during the hottest days of summer with extended family and children. In spite of temperatures like 39 degrees C it was very comfortable in and around the house. Extended lunches with local artisan products in the shadow of veranda and olive trees with a tremendous view to medieval Groznjan. The house is very convenient and save for the families with small children. There are a few bathrooms and beds and matrassing are excellent. The owners are very helpful and to be easily reached. The house is very clean en the big garden and olive orchard are well maintained. The owner comes once in two days to maintain a swimming pool. Only minus point is quite old washing machine. if you stay somewhere a few weeks with three children than you need a fair washing machine. Groznjan is 10 minutes walk, with elegant art galleries and shops and a gorgeous terrace in front of cathedral where you can sit in the shadow of chestnut trees en drink a fresh prepared ice tea of organic cultivated lemon and mint. Thera are some tourist walking around but it is still enough quiet to listen a music or read a book. During our stay there was a master class classic guitar in Groznjan. We enjoyed with whole family inc small children concerts of young musicans in the open air, in the patio of formerly Ventian courtI. Groznjan is 20 km far a way of the see coast but also enough far of mass tourism. The supermarket is in Buje, 7 km by car (or jogging as my husband did; not recommended for people with a week heart because of steep inclination). There is also a tennis club in Buje and for those who like bycing is this area a real paradise. And Istra has a very good kitchen. There are a few very good restaurants in surrounding. We alreay booked Casa for the next summer.

A pleasant house with a great view close to a lively old town

Left on 10/10/2012 for a stay in July 2012

I have been on an holiday in Casa Margherita with a group of friends and some children. The house has a nice atmosphere, a beautiful and large garden and an very nice view. One can easily walk to Groznjan, which is a great little medieval city, with a music summer schools and concerts all summer long. There is a Jazz Festival as well. The house itself is very conveniently placed; it is quiet but at the same time easy to reach. One can do a lot in the surrounding countryside (which is really very beautiful!) - one can walk or bike or just drive around visiting beautiful old towns. The sea coast is close by - one can actually see the sea from the house. There is a nice swimming pool, with a beautiful view as well. One can easily overview the swimming pool from the house, which was good with small children. The house is children friendly. There is a good wifi in a whole house and the terraces as well. We have cooked almost every day and the main kitchen is well equipped. The house is really nice and it was a pleasant base for trips to Groznjan and other cities in the neighborhood. There is even a tennis court close by. The hosts were very kind an easily approachable. We had a very pleasant holidays there.

We stayed at Casa Margherita for a couple of days using it as a base for our biking tours in the wonderful surroundings of Groznjan. The apartments were impeccable and garden with fireplace and pool a fantastic place to relax. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Great choice of very good restaurants nearby. We can definitely recommend this place for visitors looking for tranquil and relaxing breaks.

A very nice and quiet house with a wonderful view. Fine to relax and to explore Istria by car or by bycycle.

Though the interior of the appartment was not our style it was very comfortable and joyful.

      Lovely summer @ Casa Margherita

Left on 10/21/2010 for a stay in August 2010

As I sit in the office on a rainy day, I cannot but think of the lovely week my friends and I spent at Casa Margherita... To say it briefly: I wish I was there now, and I wish I could stay there again. House is perfect for families with children: pool and yard provide plenty of space for the kids to be busy/entertained all day long, and the shade of the olive trees allows parents to rest. "Konoba" is a wonderful space for the too hot or rainy days. Groznjan is a perfect 10 minute walk away, and the seaside is not far away (although both adults and kids preferred chilling around the house to hot/crowded beaches ;) So - very, very warm recommendation!

We had a brilliant holiday here. The set up for the house excellent for large groups, with a couple of large social areas, which are separate from the living areas. If we ever needed anything, the owner was opnly a phone call away.

Stunning location, just a perfect holiday

Left on 06/29/2010 for a stay in June 2010

Our holiday in Villa ‘Casa Margherita’ was just perfect. Clean with everything provided, set in a superb location with stunning views of the well known town of ‘Groznjan’ and it’s surrounding landscape. It’s an ideal holiday vacation for both couples, would make a great honeymoon destination, and families alike. Although set in a tranquil place, you have a fast selection of extremely good restaurants on the door step. Having said that, it was great to cook ourselves in the evening and sit around the private swimming pool with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. I highly recommend ‘Casa Margherita’ for your holiday, you will not be disappointed,

      Best view in Istria

Left on 06/15/2010 for a stay in May 2010

Casa Margherita has the best view in Istria without a doubt. Groznjan is one of the highlights of the whole region and the villa the best place to stay in the area, especially with the gorgeous swimming pool in the orchard. The villa is also very good value and in a quiet location where you won't be disturbed. You'll need a car, but then again you need a car to explore the area too. And get around to some of the great restaurants around and about.
