Boston, MassachusettsVery Disappointing stay
Left on 09/08/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We are familiar with the Jackson area and have been to the area often but wanted to try a different lodging so we booked a unit at the Wildcat Resort Townhouses for a long weekend. We checked in at the Dana Place Inn which looked very nice but we were very disappointed when arriving at our townhouse unit as the unit was outdated and in deseperate need of remodeling/renovation. The unit appears to have been built/decroated in the late 80s and it showing it's age. The kitchen ventiliation hood was missing a knob and was quite dirty. The stove was well used. The day we arrived was warm and sunny and although the aC unit was on the townhouse was sweltering when we arrived. The aC unit was old and worked very hard to barely cool the living room area on the first floor. There were box fans in the second floor bedrooms which we used with the open sliding deck doors in each room to get the second floor to cool down. The third floor loft was so hot it would not have been usable if you had additional people that needed to sleep up there. The skylights in the third floor ceiling were not usable- one had no screen and the other one could only be opened a few inches. Bathrooms were clean but very worn. The second bathroom on the second floor had a shower that did not get any hot water and the shower head was in disrepair. Towels were frayed but clean. Luckily the other bathroom with a shower was in better shape although the vanity in the bathroom had drawers which were broken and barely being held in the cabinet. There was a sauna and jacuzzi in a seperate room on the second floor but we did not use these amenities. These units are in a nice private wooded setting with grills outside, adirondack chairs and picnic tables near the units. We were very disappointed in this property based on the nightly charge for the rental unit. We would not return to this property unless they fully renovate the townhouse units.

We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. We always want our guests to have a nice stay and enjoy the resort.
As for your unit, it is true you rented a unit that has not had a total re-fit as of yet. We do have newly re-fitted units on site where everything from the carpets, appliances and furniture are new. But as you may recall they were more money and you wanted the lesser priced one.
If you do try the Wildcat Resort again, let’s try one of the newly re-fitted units.
Thanks for staying with us.
