The Monaco Condominium was perfect for us. It was furnished nicely, with every modern convenience, including internet. Convenient walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops, yet quiet and secure. We really enjoyed the penthouse jacuzzi, and sitting out on the balcony enjoying our coffee in the morning and watching for the arrival of the macaws. The staff could not have been more helpful. We caught a lot of mahi mahi (highly recommend Captain Henry Reyes), and had them prepared at our favorite restaurant, Ken's Bar & Grill (also great for breakfast). We highly recommend the Pura Vida Waterfall Gardens, and a day trip to Manuel antonio, with breakfast on the way in Quepos at Cafe Morango. The Poseiden Restaurant was also excellent. Pura Vida!

Felt like it took an act of Congress to even get this place booked. We were interested in an exact unit that we had a personal connection to. Alll of the communication I had with the leasing agent pertained to the unit we planned to rent (pictures and all). When we arrived, it was after hours. We were given a key to another unit that wasn't nearly as nice as the other. There was no explanation provided as to why we were being put in another unit. First night, was a letdown for this reason. Got nothing but, the runaround when we reported to the office the next morning. Were told that we needed to speak with the agent that made the reservation. Turned out the air conditioning was inoperable in the unit we wanted. A simple communication to make us aware of that, prior to arrival, would have been expected.
We also made the leasing agent aware of how many people would be staying in the condo. There weren't nearly enough towels, toilet tissue, etc. Assumed that housekeeping would come daily to replenish necessary supplies, etc. They did not.
The safe in our unit was inoperable. Had to wait for a technician to come unlock so, we could retrieve our valuables. He was able to open the safe but, we were instructed not to use during the rest of our stay. Had to carry all of our valuables with us at all times.
Tv in one of the bedrooms was inoperable the whole stay!
Security guards spoke barely any English. Couldn't even communicate with them to ask questions, etc. Nothing!
The beds were Horrrible! Sooo uncomfortable and the sheets did not even fit. The slightest movement caused the fitted sheet to come completely off the bed.
Luckily, we used our time wisely by searching for other favorable options for when we return for our next visit.
Last but not least, the front office tried to get payment from us when we checked out and we refused due to the fact we wired funds long before our arrival. I was continually contacted after we came back to the states to send proof of our wire transfer that paid for the condo. Was told that the front office gal will have to be held responsible for payment of our rental unless we could furnish proof of payment. Of course, I had proof and sent it. Besides, Whooo would allow us to stay all week if we hadn't paid already?? Shotty operation, all the way around.Response from Jaco Monaco Penthouse - 08/24/2011

They did not stay in the Penthouse unit. This is a review of a different unit not the one I own. Often travel agents do not do a good job confirming reservations.
