Be careful when dealing with dream makers, Jaco, Costa Rica. As it turns out, they just told us what we needed to hear to get us to book with them. We stayed at a condo in South Jaco called Monte REY. First of all, the condo was further out of downtown than we wanted to be. They made it sound closer than reality. Very inconvenient! Second, they advertise a pool. I have never seen a smaller "pool". More like a large Jacuzzi. We could not actually swim a lap because it was literally too small. While on the subject of too small, our promised 2 balconies was one very small area off the master bedroom... no room for even a person, much less a chair. More exaggeration of the truth. The second bathroom shower retained an inch or more of water at all times. We were forced to share the master bath because it became too slippery in the other. We were promised one bike on site before booking. There was no bike upon check in. When questioned, dream makers jUST blew us off. There was no effort to make amends for these problems because they had already been paid. Bad business. We will never use dream makers again and you should think twice! Jaco is a great beach town, lots to do, tons of fun and we will visit there every year!

Monte Rey was a terrific condo, a perfect location and a very reasonable price. Stephanie Gazo at Costa Rica Dream Makers was awesome. She made all arrangements for us and they were all perfect. She arranged our transportation from San Jose to Jaco (a pleasant 1 hour 15 minute drive - complete with a beer and airconditioning for immediate relief from heat and humidity), filled our refrigerator at the condo with foods we ordered, arranged our two scheduled trips, one to the island of Tortuga, a gorgeous island with a beautiful beach..a must do trip I think! and our canopy tram tour that was relaxing and informative). She made us dinner reservations and also arranged for our car rental. She is the main reason we loved doing business with Costa Rica Dream Makers!
The area is not safe to walk at night we were told, but found no evidence of anything that I read about in other reviews...drugs, prostitution. It was very laid back and cabs are not expensive. The condo is guarded and the grounds maintained each day by Jose. He is the hard working man who will greet you each morning, even if you're an early riser like me. He keeps the small back garden in perfect condition and cleans the very small pool each day. The pool, though quite small, is very refreshing when the afternoon humidity kicks in! The condo is large, the master bedroom - with adjoining master bath has a small balcony from which you can see Jaco beach (a short walk down the street) and the second bedroom has a bathroom in the hall. The kitchen is very modern, the dining room seats 6 with ease and the lovely deck with chairs and table and rocking chairs was a great place to hang out after a day of fun and an evening of eating, or to watch the sunset over the beach. It was also a favorite in the early morning for coffee when you can hear the birds chattering away in the forest across the street. There is a grocery store right on the main drag in Jaco and you can either borrow a bicycle or walk along the road or walk along the beach to get there. We found it a great and convenient area and would stay there again if the opportunity arises. -

The condo was clean and very comfortable. Dream makers was very helpful with everything we needed except our ride to airport was not scheduled and we needed to call them the when the driver didn't show.

Its a very beautiful condo, close to the beach with a nice pool, off the beaten path but not to far out, very accommodating.

All the best comforts of home. After days on the road coming to the Monte Ray was great. Huge rooms with large bath rooms. We were able to stay home and cook in the fully equipped kitchen. If you come to Costa Rica this place is great as a couple or with the whole family. Venture out during the day for the local experiences, but come back to a home to unwind in luxury.

Condo room was exceptionally clean,airy and decorated,the neighborhood was also clean,we felt safe,had view of Pacific,convenient to Manuel antonio,1-2 hrs. from San Jose,I was seeking a nice place without the isolated feel of a large resort, to get a better feel of Costa Rica without being totally emerged in it.I would stay here again.

A ride from the airport was arranged. Within 5 minutes of stepping off of the plane we were on our way with a cold beer in our hands. After arriving at Monte Rey we recieved keys immediatley and we were shown the condo and ammenities. Karla, the host, explained the tours and things we could do and let us know that when we wanted to she could arrange all of it for us, which she did. The only hang-ups were that the microwave died (new one installed the next day) and one of our tours were cancelled. Dena from downstairs called and tried to figure out what had happened and also arranged us another tour in its place so that we didn't waste any time. all of the tours that they arranged were great and it was nice to not have to arrange anything. Surfing right out in front of the condo is great for beginners and the beach has lots of soft sand. Hermosa is 5 minutes away. There is a road up the mountain that you can walk up that takes you to a beautiful view point and lots of wildlife like toucans.Late november is a great time to go because it is not to hot and there were no biting flies or mosquitos. Lizards on the deck. You can walk or catch a cab to the main street in Jaco. Walking takes 20minutes. cab is a couple of dollars. They lent us bikes once to ride into the city which was lots of fun. Larry, Dena, Karla, and Jose the gate keeper were awesome hosts. We also rented a car which they arranged to have dropped off and picked up at Monte Rey.

From the time we made the reservation Larry from Costa Rica Dream Makers made sure from the moment we touched down in Costa Rica that every need we had was meet. Larry went over and above to make our family welcome and planned wonderful things for us to do while we were there. The Condo that we stayed in was beautiful, immaculate and had everything we needed and more. The security guards there were truly wonderful men. They were so lovely to us. I fell in love with them. They always greeted you with a smile and would do anything for you! Having the condo right near the beach was fabulous my husband and daughter got to surf and boogie board and I relaxed on the beach. The rain forest across the street was beautiful in the morning the birds would sing while we were having our tea on the patio. This place was paradise for us. We enjoyed having dinner in Jaco and meeting the local people of Costa Rica they are so warm and welcoming. We did the ziplines, Atv's thru the mountains, hiked to the waterfalls, drove to see the volcanoe, and ate some really good food. We also went into San Jose and walked around and shopped. We enjoyed the mountains and the rainforest it was so beautiful. It is everything and more then you read about! I love Costa Rica and will go back. My whole family loved it! I can not say that there was anything that we disliked about our vacation there. We are still telling our friends what a wonderful time we had and told all of them they must visit Costa Rica. Larry we truly thank you and your employees for making our vacation everything we wanted and much more.
