AuSable Camp sits on a small hill above the AuSable River surrounded by wide open fields, forests and mountains. Bassett, Wainwright, Rattlesnake and Ebenezer Mountains provide the perfect backdrop for the breathtaking Adirondack sunsets. Walk 300 feet and enjoy the AuSable River with its secluded swimming holes. The deer, foxes, coyotes, wild turkeys, loons love it here.

AuSable Camp is a cozy little nook in the country with a number of amenities: Wi-Fi high speed internet, 32" f...latscreen, patio dining area, seductive fireplace, well-equipped kitchen with central island, dishwasher, microwave oven, outdoor gas grill, small cedar paneled bathroom, washer and dryer, king-size bed with view in the master bedroom, twin trundle beds in the loft bedroom, panoramic doors and windows.

AuSable Camp is great for fishing, swimming, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, birdwatching, sunbathing, stargazing, relaxing, enjoying the view. The AuSable River, world-renowned for fly fishing, is one of the top 20 trout fishing rivers in the country.

AuSable Camp is in the village of Jay, famous for its Old Covered Bridge and the Jay Rapids, named the Best Rural Swimming Hole in the nation by Sports Women Illustrated. Saturday night brings concerts, plays, fiestas to the Village Green and to the Ward Theater. Jay enjoys a bustling artistic community with craft fairs, artists' studios, galleries, auction houses, farmers' markets, garage sales. Jay has long been a haven for artists and writers.

From Keene, you can also embark on a cross-country ski or snowshoe expedition along the Jackrabbit Trail, a 35 mile trail system that connects Keene to Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Paul Smith.

AuSable Camp is 6 miles away from Whiteface Mountain, home to the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. It is the only Olympic downhill ski center in the East with a vertical drop of 3430 feet.   My wife and I stay every year and truly love it. The kitchen is great as others have said.
  Every morning we sit out on the porch and watch the hummingbirds fly in with the mountain views in the background.
  Very quiet.
  Anne is great as well. She really does everything she can to make your stay is enjoyable.

  Charming cottage in a tranquil setting surrounded by the beautiful adirondacks countryside Well presented with modern facilities but still has full of character ideally situated to explore all that the area has to offer: Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain, many of the most beatiful High Peaks.
  At the end of the long day of hiking, we enjoyed staying on the nice large terrace and watch the animals go for a drink in the nearby river!!

  We love auSable Camp. Great location. Extreme cleanliness. My wife and I have been on repeated visits to the cottage over the years. The place is ideal for us (couple with two children in their teens). Lots of place around for the kids to play. Complete privacy.
  The views from the house are stunning. Very well equipped kitchen. There is no TV connection but you can bring your own movies on DVD to run on the DVD player connected to the flat screen. The best show in the place however is watching the deer grazing in the big field from the porch at sunset. The cottage is located minutes away from all the trail heads for the high peaks, Whiteface mountain and many of the attractions around Lake Placid.
