Amazing Family Reunion / Wedding Reception Location!
Guest Anika (Laramie, WY) Date of stay 08/30/13Review Submitted 09/04/13
We LOVE El Rancho Pequeno! They were kind enough to allow us to have our wedding reception on this hidden gem in the foothills of the Rockies/Snowy Mountain Range. So in addition to 11 people staying at the ranch for 3 nights, we had an additional 50 people come for an evening casual cookout reception. There was ample room for everyone with lots of drifting between the patio and the very comfortable and beautiful open floor-plan of the farmhouse. The kids, adults, and our lab-mix all spent hours playing in the river, fishing, enjoying the vistas and exploring. We were a little late in the season for tubing, but are looking forward to giving that a go next time around. We appreciated the well-stocked, generously appointed ranch. It was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable and the eclectic decor was great! No cookie-cutter 'western ranch' standard decor, but it still maintained a sense of place. The owner was immediately available by phone when questions arose about the oven and was always quick to respond to inquiries via email in the days/weeks preceding our stay.
The ranch isn't visible from the road, so it feels very private and the road accessing the ranch is not heavily traveled.
There was little to no light polution (Jelm Observatory is minutes away for that very reason), so the star-gazing was phenomenal. Our visiting East Coasters were astonished - Milky Way, shooting stars, the works.
By the end of our stay everyone in our group was discussing when we could come back again. Family that hadn't come to visit us in 5 years of living in this area were suddenly planning on visiting us again next summer! :)

a Great fishing experience

I spent a wonderful day of fishing on your stretch of the Laramie River. I can't express what a beautiful section of the river that is. Along with the beauty that surrounds the river, the brown trout were plentiful and eager to go after both a dry fly and a nymph. Although both the river and the trout are challenging, this is the way fishing for wild trout is supposed to be. Thank you for the opportunity to fish your wonder wild trout river.

Don't tell God, but, a piece of heaven fell to earth!
Guest Couch Floater (Englewood, Colorado) Date of stay 08/13/12Review Submitted 08/01/13
I guarantee you will never find a more peaceful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, unless when the trout are hitting, but that is a momentary and delightful interruption. The home is lovely and opens to the property with windows that make it feel as though there are no walls between you and the outdoors. A great family getaway with lots of room to run and holler, or just a priviate relaxing and romantic trip for two. If you do nothing else, make time and get yourselves to this "piece of heaven".

Great Place to Hook Some Browns
Guest Jason (Casper, WY) Date of stay 04/26/13Review Submitted 06/26/13
I spent the afternoon fishing with a friend at El Rancho Pequeno. We had our lines in the water for only 2.5 hours but caught and released plenty of nice brown trout. The water is crystal clear. There is a good variety of structure, runs and depth to the water. The scenery is spectacular! The facilities are well maintained and very easy to access from Laramie. I can't wait for our next trip.

Peaceful taste of the West
Guest CC (Evergreen CO USA) Date of stay 04/26/13Review Submitted 06/15/13
Had the pleasure of spending a long weekend fishing and exploring the property. It's very special to have a stretch of The Laramie river all to yourself and experience some quality fishing. The landscape is beautiful, big blue sky's during the day and jaw dropping views of endless stars through out the evening.

The owners are kind and were very helpful to our needs. The kitchen is modern, opening up to the great room with views of the river and a large cozy fire place that kept us warm. Enjoyed sitting at the dining room table and just taking it all in.

This place is a gem. Quite, private and a wonderful slice of the West.

Paradise on the River!
Guest Anne M (Denver) Date of stay 08/03/12Review Submitted 06/12/13
We came up with our kids at the end of the summer, and had a delightful time! The house is well-laid out with private space for everyone and an awesome bunk room for the kids. The views from the dining room are breath-taking, and you can play croquet or ladder toss on the yawn as the river floats by. You can even tube in the river! I took a leisurely run down the dirt road to work out each morning, and the area is beautiful.

The kitchen is great for preparing large meals and the oversize fireplace looks perfect for winter (we didn't use it since it was warm) - We are planning to come back up in the winter when we can hang out inside more. The bedrooms are cozy and have lovely linens.

The kids enjoyed exploring the property, and had a great time running around their own private "camp ground."

What we liked best was that it was that it had modern amenities in the most charming of locales - very remote (in a good way) and private. We only stayed in the main house, but this ranch is a perfect getaway for your family reunion or larger group. We would definitely come back here again.

A hidden gem.
Guest KK (Indiana) Date of stay 06/01/13Review Submitted 06/12/13
What a home. This was such a great pick for our family getaway. The fishing was fabulous and the surroundings most attractive; the photos don't really do the property justice--it is certainly stunning. The feeling you get in the home is one of comfort and ease. My kids have decided we need to come back in the late summer so we can float down the river in tubes, and I heartily agree!
The house is spotless and very well kept, mixing classic Wyoming style with beautiful modern updates. This is a perfect get-away for anyone, whether a romantic quiet vacation for two or a family who never stops to take a breath. The gracious main room would be ideal for a wedding or other event and the dining room table is just right for feeding a crowd or playing a hearty round of Texas Hold'em. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you could need to cook a feast. We had no problems with the house and working with the owners was a breeze. I would give El Rancho Pequeo two big thumbs up.

Wonderful family retreat, gorgeous inside and out!
Guest Paige (Laramie, WY) Date of stay 12/22/12Review Submitted 12/31/12
We were able to book this last minute and had a wonderful experience. There was a fire lit in the fireplace, wine, a holiday card, and flowers upon our arrival. The host was very gracious, checked in on us, and helped us with any house quirks. This is a beautiful property, nestled in the mountains and right on the river. We saw mule deer, rabbits, and coyotes, and were able to do some nice little hikes into the surrounding hills. There was a decent amount of snow (and more fell during our stay) but we had no issues getting in and out of the property as the road had been plowed prior to our arrival. The house stayed nice and cozy, between the fireplace and radiant floor heat, we were never chilly.

If you have a large party, the dining room table is great! The views are spectacular and there is plenty of room to spread out. We really enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend staying there!
