My favorite place ever

I grew up hearing about the Russian River from my San Francisco-born grandmother. Finally, years later, I was able to see for myself how wonderful the area is. The Artist View was a perfect place for this artist to stay in any location, but extra special being in Jenner. The cabin was squeaky clean and smelled good. (I'm freakish about bad smells) The ambience was excellent. I loved sketching on the window seats (more like beds) as I enjoyed the awesome views. The deer right outside our kitchen window was a delight to witness. My only suggestion would be a larger sofa and a bit larger television. I would love to live in this thoughtfully, and in good taste, designed home.

The artist's View is a wonderful little home in the hills above Jenner. It is a beautiful little house in a very peaceful and relaxing setting overlooking a little valley. You can hear the stream in below and enjoy the beautiful view and sun on the deck. Even though it rained two of the days we were there, the baby grand piano, guitar and cozy furniture by the fireplace in the great room made for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a secluded getaway. Read more

This is the second time we've stayed at this home. It is so cute and the size unassuming from the front view. It is quite large and spacious. The house is full of lovely furniture, artwork and amenities...making it feel as if it was your own home (cozy and comfortable). The house is well equipped: dishes, glassware, cast iron pan, utensils, you name it. The Bosch dishwasher is quiet as not to disturb the guests staying in the living room area. The deck and the views are impeccable. The gardens below are a special area for peace and enjoyment. The hot tub, located off of the master bedroom, is high-end and easily accessible. It is evident the owner(s) of this home care about their guests. The only negative part we had was the WiFi. It is spotty (the satellite dish needs re-arranging) and cell service was unavailable until we got into town. However, our stay has special meaning and memories. We are plan to make this an annual trip for us to continue our tradition. Read more
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Artist's View. It is a wonderful home, and the location cannot be beat. We'll check into the satellite issue and make sure it's fixed, if it can be (satellite can be problematic by nature). Unfortunately, we cannot fix the cell coverage in this area, but we do keep trying! We welcome you back next year and every year after! -Rachel, Russian River Getaways

My group of four + Maddie the dog had a wonderful stay at artist's View & Painter's Dream. We had two artists (pianist and guitar, the both of them), and they were in heaven. The home has everything, and then some. Super kitchen, super decks, amazing garden. All of us left knowing that three nights was too short a stay, and we will definitely be back. Read more

While the cottage was quirky and ecclectic (which is a good thing from my perspective), it didn't work for my boyfriend and I who are in our early 50's. We were looking for a charming, cozy, romantic getaway with a good view of the water. If you play the piano, the piano in the middle of the living area might be a plus but we don't so the effect was lost on us. The seating in the living area around the wood burning stove was not particularly inviting. The twin sized day beds in the living area by the window were an interesting idea but not a place that two can snuggle together and look out at a great view. The gardens were lovely but I was hoping to see more of the river and knowing the Pacific was just out of view, just made me want to be there and there were several places right on the Pacific that I'd like to try next time. Jenner was quite small and we enjoyed the coffee house on the river for breakfast. Great food. The nightly rate after all fees were included came to $315/night and that was too much in our opinion. We used artist's View as a home base and ventured out each day for siteseeing and wine tasting and shopping and fine dining. We appreciated the management putting a lockbox on the door so we didn't have to drive into Guerneville to pick up keys. Read more
Artist's View is a charming and quaint home with great touches throughout. The location adds to the peacefulness you find while there. Our pictures are pretty clear as to how the house looks inside and out and our booking agents do try to place you in the right home for your needs. Sorry it wasn't quite to your liking but next time we can place you in a cabin that suits you better.

The home is well stocked, and perfect for 2 couples. We visited with our grown daughter and her fiancé, and it couldn't have been a nicer place to visit the Jenner area. It is a Very Small Town. We found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The River's End has a magnificent view and good food. The aquatica coffee shop is great for baked goods and coffee. The convenience store has all you need for a weekend visit. But, the home is wonderful, and the best of it all. The garden is beautiful! We really enjoyed our visit. Read more
Artist's View is a spectacular little piece of bliss and Jenner is a secret no one seems to know about. Once there you escape to your own little world. Everything is right there and you can even rent kayaks and paddle to the mouth of the Russian River. We're so happy you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you back soon!

Fantastically decorated and well appointed home. Decks look out over a beautiful valley and garden. Piano and hot tub were great and the floor plan was very open and inviting.

What a beautiful and magical house in a friendly and magical town! I loved my stay at artist's View in Jenner. The house is beautifully furnished with everything needed for cooking, relaxing, hanging-out, and romance! The piano and music stand were lovely additions, and I brought my flute and played opera arias out into the valley. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking - we even invited some interesting and engaging locals that we met at the local coffee shop for an impromptu lunch out on the deck. The soaking tub is great - deep, great view, beautiful surroundings. The gardens are a feast of color and fragrance and attracted all kinds of hummingbirds and butterflies. The house is within walking distance of the town store, coffee shop, restaurants, and the river visitor center. It is also a 5 minute drive from a beautiful beach that is perfect for haning out or walking.
All in all, my trip to artist's View was an incredible and relaxing impromptu trip. If I didn't live so far away, I would go back to artist's View frequently for a perfect get-away. As it is, I know that I will get back there some time in the future, hopefully for a longer stay. Read more

Lovely cottage, perfect for musical guests. Very 'cute'. Enjoyed the piano and the wood burning stove in the evenings, along with the nice bottle of complimentary Cahill wine. The house is well equipped. New appliances, well stocked kitchen. Only rented the upstairs. The bedroom suite is spacious with a modern en-suite shower room.
Only criticisms were, there is an extremely soft mattress topper on the bed - it was effort to even turn over and needless to say we both woke up with a sore back after our first night. We took this off for the second night and the mattress was very comfortable underneath. So if you're preference is a more supportive mattress then I recommend you do this too. Other criticism is that we had to go via Guerneville to pick up the keys which added an extra 40 minutes to our already tedious journey. I am used to lock boxes at houses we've rented in the past.
Hot tub wasn't great at keeping it's temperature once the lid off but we enjoyed using it.
At $700 + for 2 nights which includes the cleaning fee, it's expensive, but I still felt really good value and worth it. Much nicer than wine country inns which often cost more than that. Lots of privacy, space and peace. We hope to go back with family later on in the year and rent out the bottom bedroom suite as well. Read more
We are glad you enjoyed Artist's View and hope you will come back soon. Bed comfort is so individual, so it's great that the topper is removable so that when a person wants a firmer mattress, they can just remove it. We'll certainly consider keyless entry or a lock box for this home to make it more accessible to guests in the future. Hot tubs lose heat the longer the cover is off; this is normal. Next time, if there's an issue with the hot tub, please call so we can fix the problem. -General Manager

The artist's view was bigger than expected - the master bedroom is in a separate area with its own sitting room, in addition to the main living room with the loft daybeds. The entire house was thoughtfully laid out with luxurious amentities - it felt like a real home! A pleasant surprise was the level entry from the street side, which meant that my brother-in-law, who uses a wheelchair, could visit for dinner one night with relative ease! We'll definitely be back! Rental was perfect for us - children 6 & 7, grandmother, and mom & dad. Kitchen was very well stocked with "nice" cookware - not cheap Walmart pots & pans. View was very nice. Liked the Jenner area. Close to beach, parks, and most attractions. Would definitely consider renting this unit again. Staff was extremely helpful.

I stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend with a few friends and our dog. We all loved this place. It was very clean, the space was just right and it had some nice views. It was close to the ocean and not too far from Guerneville, about a 20 minute drive. The attention to detail in this cottage was very impressive. We all said that we would definitely come back.

The photos of artist's View - as good as they are- simply do not do it justice. This is truly one of the nicest, well appointed vacation homes we have ever stayed at. Wonderfully comfortable beds, excellent linens and towels, nice dinnerware, spectacular views. A peaceful getaway- walking distance to the coast and the river. We couldn't have asked for more.
