sublime beach house with stunning views & service

Left on 01/30/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Arriving at the beach house at night, we drove along the beach
excited to see our place of residence for the next 3 weeks, the house looked
stunning and inviting as we drew close, The size, construction and
architectural finesse of the beach house combine to make a consummate first
impression, it was well lit and we were welcomed in whilst walking past the
illuminated outdoor pool & gardens amidst the dunes.

You could hear the waves rolling in whilst the cooling wind filtered through
the Japanese influenced interior, The entire house is immaculately built
from quality timber & we found our room to be just perfect with a personal
veranda & views out to the sea literally a stones throw away.

Waking up in Beach house prea is an inspiring experience, the light, sand
and rolling blue sea was beautifully framed by slatted sliding doors &
throughout the house you can change the interior by sliding walls and
letting air & light flow in and around the living area, allowing one to feel
fully connected to the location whilst lounging in any one of the numerous
      hammocks hanging on the veranda.

Breakfast lunch and dinner were all well prepared by a friendly cook & with
a range of options and lots of local fruit, fish & vegetables we ate well &
drank excellent juices and coconut water. The house & grounds are kept very
clean by the staff & we found them all to be friendly & good-natured.

The Kite surfing is of course first class in Prea & the house has very much
been built to accommodate the storing & launching of kites, with just a
minutes walk to the sea, & a beach buggy available for down-winders! it's
such a convenient, easy way to enjoy the sport. All in all a great stay, we
genuinely didn't want to leave & will look to book again in 2013.

If you are into kiting and chilling why go elsewhere?

Left on 01/23/2013 for a stay in December 2012

The 1st time I went to Prea, I stayed in a B&B.; The 2nd time I went to Prea, I stayed in a hotel. Now I have been 7 times and guess where I stayed for the other 5 times...yes, oh yes...beachhouseprea!!! I have just rebooked forI December 2013!!
I alight from bed at 6am with the rest of the guests asleep. I lie in a hammock gazing out to sea, read a good book or watch an episode of "Homeland". If I feel energetic I might go supping, running or a long walk. Breakfast is at 8, i gorge, I need the energy. There is fresh fruit, acai on muesli, misto quente by our friend Edgi, fresh coffee, fresh juice...in fact you can probably have most things!
Then we can choose to go horse riding, shopping in Jeri, have a private yoga lesson at the house or just to rest and digest!!!
Then at 11am on the dot, like the flick of a switch, the wind powers up, I get excited...I'm going kitesurfing!! I get ready and within 15mins I'm on the warm sea and all I can think is how I am going to jibe or tack and stay on my feet! I kite for about 2 hours either doing a downwinder or just riding the waves in front of the house.
At 1.30pm it's lunch, a light salad with fish or chicken and then chill for half an hour in the pool or hammock.
It's back on the water at 3pm normally doing a long downwinder to finish the days kiting around 5 to 5.30pm. We speed back to the house via buggy reminiscing over our new wave experiences!!
Back at the house I unwind, showering, then reading a book, a quick power nap or another episode of "Homeland"...meanwhile dinner is being prepared. It's clearly very obvious that the owner of the house and a keen chef, has engaged with the staff concerning the menu. The meats, the fish, the vegetables are great and the cook is doing a brilliant job.
After dinner I normally collapse, exhausted and fall asleep very easily. I dream about me, my kite, my board and the empty expanse of beach and sea that is in front of beachhouseprea...it's my idea of bliss.

      Beach House Prea Paradise

Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Fantastic comfort, great food, perfect kite conditions, perfect house for kiting including kite boy to pump the kite, store room, kite cleaning area oh, and bang on the most perfect kite beach I have ever been to. Yes that includes Tariffa, Hurghada, Red Sea, Cape Town, West Wittering and Hayling Island. Away from kiting and on to more generals creature comforts, the house is well designed remaining beautifully cool throughout the day, the bedreooms and bathrooms are all well appointed and stylish, the kitchen is designed by a professional chief and the cook can sort all your catering needs out.

Final mention goes out for the star deck. We were all in bed each day by 10pm, knackered by the day's kiting but we lay on the hammocks on the start deck and just looked up until sleep got the better of us. (usually 5 mins)

Getting there from UK is a chore (20 hours door to door) but it is worth it once you are there.

      This place rocks!

      Its a Kite House...Its a Family Vacation...Its a Kite House and

Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in December 2012

This review reflects my second stay at Beach House Prea and is complementary to my prior review posted last spring.

With the addition of a beautiful pool, stand up paddle boards, broader meal options, some small in-house refinements, and further grounds development Beach House Prea moves from being the most amazing kite surfing vacation in northern Brazil to become the most amazing family vacation spots in northern Brazil.

The chef and house manager did a terrific job of helping us enjoy our 10-day stay, providing us with whatever we needed to make everything "perfect". Horse rentals, special meals to address dietary restrictions, daily massage, the best fried chicken I've ever eaten...everything we could thing of they could produce. Truly a special place and terrific vacation. Highly recommended.

      Beach House Prea...worth the travel!!!

Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in October 2011

If you like world class kiting conditions in spots that are remote enough so as to not be crowded (or in this case are effectively empty); but either you (or your significant other) don't like sucking it up in dumpy lodging with crummy beds, bad food and cheap bathroom fixtures...then Beach House Prea is for you!

Situated on a large private plot of land with no other houses within shouting distance and thus is very private, quiet and peaceful. It is fabulously designed (clearly talented architects) and built to an impeccable standard (no detail was left out) on a grand scale with a beautiful open plan layout that easily accommodates 10 people very comfortably across 5 graciously sized bedrooms w/ 4 full baths (3 of the bedrooms have private decks and 2 masters have ensuite bathrooms). There is abundant space to spread out across the raised decks and the shared interior spaces - both in and out of the shade - hammocks, beanbag chairs, & couches are plentiful for lounging, reading & napping. 180-degree unobstructed views of the ocean and up/down the beach are breathtaking at all times of the day. Everything has been thought of in this luxury establishment...right down to the ground floor kite locker and large wind protected fresh water rinse-off area. The addition of a well decked swimming pool provides a terrific oasis for the non-kiters in the group. Horseback riding, beach walks/jogs, trips in to Jeri, buggy excursion are all available to keep you entertained on days you don't feel like kiting.

      Other amenities:
Excellent staff for daily housekeeping, drink making, and massage
Chef cooks a variety of terrific meals day in and day out - I was happily stuffed
Broadband internet w/ wifi is excellent - was able to VPN into office w/o issue
Night watchman that keeps a close eye on the house and its occupants from dusk to dawn
"Kite-helper” to pump-up kites, lay lines, launch and land, and pack-up kites (it is so easy to get used to this)

Beach house Prea: that's amore !!

Left on 02/22/2012 for a stay in August 2011

      If Carlsberg did Kiting Holidays….

Left on 01/24/2012 for a stay in November 2011

I went to Prea on a kiting holiday with my boyfriend. We initially couldn't decide between Jeri or Prea, thank goodness we chose to stay at the Beach House Prea.Conditions couldn't be better for kiting, the water was never flat calm, we had some choppy water & some good sized waves but never a day without wind. Everyday, bar one i used a 6m Slingshot RPM and my boyfriend 8m. Downwinders are a must in Prea, not only are they great fun and challenging but you also get to see the scenery on your way! The Beach House provided a kite assistant who would pump up the kites, help launch and also give some well needed trick tips! The house is right on the beach, so much so in fact you can only access it by a four-by-four (or a motorbike taxi!), unfortunately none of our kiting equipment turned up at the airport, having got stuck in Spain and seeing how remote the house was on arrival we had thought we'd never see it again. Two days later, our equipment turned up, the last leg being transported by donkey!

The house is stunning, it was so relaxing and comfortable it really felt special and extremely homely. The staff were very helpful too and the food delicious. Breakfast included fresh fruit everyday and alternate days of acai berries, eggs or pancakes etc. Lunch was usually something cold so that we could all eat at different times if we were out on the water and dinner included fresh fish, barbeques, beef and chicken dishes. I highly recommend getting a cocktail man in for a few evenings of the stay, great way to relax with a few freshly made drinks in the house.

it is a windy area, so for those that don't kite there is horse-riding, shopping in Jeri, sight seeing (and romantic walks to the dunes!), sun-bathing!! Of which I did plenty after taking a few days off from the kiting...

Also I must point out that the locals were all very friendly, to be staying at the Beach House in such an idyllic location, won't be a holiday you'll forget...

Yes, I have stayed here 3 times and every time it gets better. Agreed, its all about kitesurfing and for that it is the best spot in the world.

Away from Kiting, for those of you that want something clamer and relaxing, you have Yoga, massages, horse riding, buggy exploration trips and a planned swimming pool (a must for kids) If you want nightlife, then Jericoacoara is your place - 20min buggy ride away - but come back to Prea to rest.

The house - its exquisite - The decor and feel of the house is beautiful. The food is abolutely amazing and fresh, delivered to the house if you want! The staff are friendly and helpful.

After a day of kiting or exploring the area there is no place better to chill / relax and take in the tranquility of it all...Beach house Prea is a must!

Left on 01/14/2012 for a stay in August 2011

I've been blessed to have been able to visit some very diverse locations and this without doubt was one of my best experiences. If you're looking for a destination that is truly off the beaten path but surrounded by some of the most amazing scenery then this is your place. The house is just recently finished and one of the nicest if not nicest place to stay in this area. It's totally handy for any kiteboarders since you just pump up your kite, actually the kite sherpa pumps up your kite and brings it to the launch area right in front of the house. The staff at the house at the house are great at making sure that you're well taken care of despite being pretty removed from civilization. If there is any downside to this place it's the transit time from Fortaleeza airport..but that also means that you're not about to run into the typical ugly tourist crowds...

      Sun, sea, cocktails & kitesurfing

Left on 01/13/2012 for a stay in November 2011

I stayed here in November with a group of friends - 8 of us in all. We were all there for a mixture of kite-surfing and chilling-out (in varying proportions) and Beach House Prea turned out to be the perfect place for us.

The beach where we learned (/showed off at) kite-surfing was literally in front of the house, on what felt like a private beach, and the instructors (arranged by the staff) were from near the village - all English-speaking, cool, safety-conscious and fun.

And then there was the house itself... Oh, how I wish I was back there. Cool and spacious with home-cooked food and professional-made cocktails on tap, hammocks to swing in when the waves got too much, huge, comfortable beds... all in all, very relaxing.

There are a few things to do if you're not into kite-surfing or fancy a change. We hired a buggy to visit the Paradise Lagoon, which is beautiful, and then we got one to nearby Jeri, which is a cute sand-filled village. (Word of warning on those beach buggies: You put your life in the driver's hands.. and it may at times feel that those hands aren't the safest...) We also booked (via the staff) a bunch of horses to ride one morning before breakfast. (Similar warning on the safety front!)

November seemed like a perfect time to visit - warm but not too hot, perfect wind, reasonably-sized waves.

I've never been to the area before, but from what I can tell, Beach House Prea is at the top end of the market in terms of facilities and luxuriousness. The location (Prea) might be the only downside, as it's a 4-hour trip from Fortaleza airport across bumpy roads that feel like sand dunes. In fact, they might actually have been sand dunes. But believe me, it's worth the schlep. The place really is as serene as the photos make it look.

      Take me back there now!

      Very special

Left on 01/12/2012 for a stay in December 2011

Having travelled all round the world and stayed in all types of different accomodations I can say that staying here was one of the best all round kite holiday experiences I have had. Why? Let's leave the kiting aside for the moment. The house is beautiful and so peaceful. The staff were super efficient and looked after us whenever we needed it. The swimming pool was great for me and especially my girlfriend who doesn't kite so much. And there is something about that view in the morning over the sea and the dunes that is soothing for the soul.
Now the kiting - I have been in some great flat water spots and some world class wave riding destinations and this is neither. However the wind consistency was ridiculous. Come midday its on and it doesnt stop until sunset. Cross on-shore I used a 7m every day for the 10 days we were there. We did some nice 10 mile downwinders where the buggydrivers literally follow you and drive you home - and with a guy to pump up the kites - nice touch.
Evenings were generally spent around the house as we had a good group. We did one trip to hit the Jeri nightlife whcih was cool but mostly we were beat and hit the hammocks. - Will be back!

Luxury, comfort and eccellent value for kiters (and non)

Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in October 2010

I had the luck to spend 5 night in the beach house last year. I am an avid kiter whereas my girlfriend is not (ugh). Therefore I had the need to find a place where I could kite in perfect conditions and, at the same time, my girlfriend would not be too bored.
Let me start with the kitesurfing. The house sits probably in the best part of Prea, with very constant, warm, sideshore wind. The black has fine white sand and no rocks, stingrays, or other nasty stuff to be worried about. If you been to Prea you might know that the closer you get to the big rock in Jeri the gustier the wind. Since the beach house sits approximately in the mid of the big bay in Prea, the wind is simply perfect, steady and sideshore. Absolutely fabulous for beginner to learn and expert to try new tricks. I have been in many kite locations all over the world and Prea wins, hand down. You will never find a better place for wind. The house owner, when I stayed there, also arranged a kite service at the beach with one local guy helping us inflating the kite, launching, landing and generally supervising while we were in the water. Great idea and very well received by my and my friends staying there.
As far as non kiting activities, the beach house has all the comfort of a luxury home. Fast wireless connection, amazing food and housekeeping and chef just for us, fully proficient in local and western cuisine.
You cannot go wrong. If you looking for a very cool, safe, clean place with guaranteed wind look no further. Hope it helps and enjoy the wind!!!
