    Additional Location Information

Nachlaot is one of the oldest, and most interesting, neighborhoods in Jerusalem. It was built in the late 1800's with financial assistance of Sir Moses Montefiore, and many of the original buildings and houses are still in use today.
Our guest house is located on one of Nachlaot's quiet winding roads, just a few minute's walk from the Shuk, as well as many cafes, restaurants and shops. It's also just a ten minute walk to the downtown area, and about a 25 minute walk to the Old City.

Wonderful stay in a perfect location!

Left on 04/09/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Myself, my mother and a friend stayed here for a 16 day trip over Passover. This location was absolutely perfect! Everything we needed was nearby. The shuk was a wonderful place to grab fresh food and a supermarket was nearby as well. Great falafel stand at the end of the street too! Only a 15 minute walk to the Jaffa gate with many shops & cafes & bakeries on the way. Taxi's to the knesset/museum area or to the dung/zion gate were quick and not too costly.

The apartment was perfect for 3 of us (2 up on the top bunk & 1 below). Everything worked perfectly (we didn't use the washer) and the little patio was great to sit out on in the evenings. The highlight for us was hearing the beautiful singing from the synagogue on shabbat! You really feel like you're part of the real day to day life in Israel as opposed to a "hotel experience". If you're wanting an authentic trip then this is the place to stay! Plus you save money by cooking your own food in the kitchen rather than eating out all the time. The fresh fish from the shuk was amazingly good!

Linens, towels & starter paper products were provided. All dishes & cooking utensils were there as well. And don't forget to take the rolling basket when you go grocery shopping! We didn't realize that was what it was for the first time but used it every other time!

Pnina & Shay were great an available anytime we needed them. All in all an amazing trip and a wonderful place to stay. I'm planning to go back to Israel again next year, this time with my husband, and we're definitely going to stay here again. thanks!

      Perfect location and picturesque area

Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We have stayed there for 8 nights. It's a perferct location for tourists: 15 minutes walk to Old City and 15 munites to Central Bus Station (it was convenient to us to travel to Tel aviv, Haifa and so on). Amazing Mahane Yehuda Market is quite near. Studio has everything you need. Also we enjoyed beautiful singing on Friday's evening (from nearby synagogue). Hosts were very helpful, they showed us nearest markets and the shop where we bought sim card. We were in april and there was fresh in the evening - don't forget socks.

pleasant stay in the most interesting district of Jerusalem

Left on 11/23/2012 for a stay in March 2012

I would like to thank the owners of this place who made it so cozy, practical and inviting! Shay and Pnina were also very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. The flat is quite spacious: we were tree girls most of the time, but it was not too small for us. The location is beautiful, it is very central, all the bus stops are just around the corner. At the same time it is very quite and hidden from the big streets. The Central market is about 7-10 minutes walk from the house, which is also very practical.
I am also excited about this district (you can see a couple of my pictures made there). It is a historical place - so there are a lot of things to see, but very lively.

      Beautiful authentic Jerusalem

Left on 11/23/2012 for a stay in March 2012

It was a very enjoyable experience - the studio is nice and cozy and really unique, and the area is best you can get - tiny pedestrian streets, 5-10 minutes walk from the center as well as from the market, 15 minutes from the old city. The flat is small but has everything you need and can easily accomodate three people. The hosts are very nice and helpful. Note that like most homes in Jerusalem, this place has stone floor so if you are travelling not in summer pack woollen socks and sweaters. I know where I'd like to stay during my next trip to Jerusalem.
Warmest regards to Pnina and Shay!
