This was my second visit to Bali and my second visit to the aahh Bali B & B Resort. I loved my first experience so much that I just had to come back. I did not think that it would be possible for Bob and Lydia to make my second experience better than the first - but they did! They greeted me at the airport with the usual cold towels and ice cold water. The staff welcomed me with genuine warmth and settled me into my room immediately. The next morning, Lydia prepared an orange pastry that was a little bit of heaven in your mouth - as was everything she served each morning. Both of them made all of the arangements to go tubing down the Siap River, horseback riding, white water rafting and a rappelling tour down the waterfalls in the Kalimudah Canyon - all at reduced rates that they negotiated for me. Visited the Ubud Rice fields, several local artists, many temples and several beautiful waterfalls. The best three weeks of my life. My room was clean and quiet, with a fresh supply of Bintang each day. The staff was extremely attentive and you will find no finer hosts than Bob and Lydia. You will feel like family!

Bob and Lydia, you were absolutely the best host and hostess, and made our trip a memory that will last a long, long time. I look forward to making back and sending more time there. We could not have asked for better service, hospitality and genuine, life-loving people. You have a passion for this and it shows. My brothers and I cannot thank you enough. We'll be in touch as we will be back...

We stayed at the villa of Bob and Lydia in May. This was our first visit to Bali. We have three small children and travel a lot. The quality and price are very important for us. At the Bob and Lydia villa we found not only excellent facilities and reasonable price, but also emotional involvement. Any question, and our request were resolved. About history of the island, about mobile and internet, where to buy silver, not tourist place for dinner, how to rent house))) Bob and Lidya patiently answered all questions. Perhaps if we did not encounter this couple, we would form a differnet impression from Bali. But now we want to return. Their home is cozy, colorful, beautiful. We liked the breakfast, each morning we would wake the scent of fresh bread rolls that were baked by Lydia. This is despite the fact that Lydia became sick and felt unwell.
And very friendly staff. And the best driver on Bali, Dewa. We miss about you. Thank you very much for your attention to us. In general, this is a great place for a family. -

First of all, our big and sincere thanks to Bob and Lidya and their staff for the great service and hospitality! We did enjoy our stay at aahh Bali B&B; a lot! Didn`t feel like staying in the hotel at all, more like at the place of our friends. We were three couples (old friends) and occupied all three units in the house and felt very much at home. On the one hand the owner of the place tries to help in every possible way and to meet the needs of the customers, at the same time you will always have your private space all over the area and not disturbed or bothered. The rooms were nice, clean, functional. The breakfasts were good, the fresh pastries made by Lidya every morning unforgettable! One day we had asked Lidya to prepare and organize dinner for us devoted to a special occasion - that was a delicious feast! The hosts of the place do exceed the expectations of the customers! We were introduced to the best driver one can find in Bali - Dewa, caring personality, good English and very knowledgeable. We had the privilege to be recommended (again by the host) a great certified guide, author of the book about Bali - Budi. He gave us a wonderful professional tour around Bali. Every single need or request from our side was taken care of by the hosts! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a cozy, calm, relaxed atmosphere and great service for the best value! Want to come back!

Consummate hosts, wonderful property, fantastic accommodating staff - everyone helps and indeed something that may take us hours took minutes, a spare phone to help with regard to contact, a fantastic driver who anticipates needs, cares for clients, Lydia's fantastic cooking (must go back for the creme brulee)m access to a wonderful long trip driver called Dewa who is magic and made our day trips so much more worthwhile and valuable; Lydia and Bob anticipated our needs, included us in their New Year celebrations and helped make our trip to Bali absolutely memorable. Wayan, Minnie and ari - always smiling, wonderfully helpful staff - diamonds! An absolute mine of treasures, human and built! Love it, will be back, love the hosts, loved the staff, can highly recommend to friends and family. Bob and Lydia know their neighbourhood and the driver Dewa known to them was an absolute star - highly recommend Dewa to anyone wanting trips with heart. Loved the facilities especially Room C - the family loved the spaciousness of a and B. Frail mother in law well cared for - highly recommended for ease of access to rooms on lower floor - thank you for your consideration, your compassion and most of all your valuable assistance in making the family holiday so memorable! Thank you sincerely! Alan and Sharon x

When I was reading the reviews on Tripadvisor we though how could it be so good! But it is! I prefer to stay here then the W-Bali (which I have reviewed, bad); at a fraction of the cost!
We had the smaller unit upstairs, Unit C. This was just perfect, up a small flight of stairs and had a small balcony overlooking the pool. Everything is just like the photos on Trip advisor, so no need for me to post updated photos.
What makes this place special was the small little things they did for us. Topping up our phone card; Ordering in Pizza for us, arranging transport for us. What they were able to do in 60 seconds what would have taken us an hour to do. It is an extra small effort on their part but when you are not from some place this saves you a lot of time and makes a huge difference.
Breakfast was wonderful; fresh baked good every morning and your choice of a wide variety of breakfast choices. One night Lidya made some extra Crambulee' and dropped it buy our room, wow!
Bob has a massive DVD collection, we only used the movie room once, but every morning and night we watched a different movie in our room.
Bob had managed to recommend a wonderful B&B; after a week with him; and got us a fantastic rate on both the room and boat ride. He also planned our trip to Uluwatu.
The staff is wonderful and really is one big family. On out last day Bob & Lidya and the entire staff were going out to spend the day together. But they all came along and dropped us off in Sanur.
The little details do make a difference! I would use this as base to explore South Bali as everything is close! -

We enjoyed staying with Lydia and Bob. Both were most helpful, giving us tips or very good arrangements for cars and motobykes. The room was really large, and accomodated easily the four of us. The only drawback of the place is the distance to the beach - walking is very unpleasant because of heavy traffic and highly unadvisable. Besides, if you happen to have rainy or cloudy days, the premises are failry small when your children would wish to run around. At all times, Lydia and Bob helped to find solutions, and we enjoyed staying there.

We loved our stay at this hidden jem of a property in Jimbaran. Our hosts Bob and Lydia were wonderful. They went out of their way to accomodate us, gave us useful tips, helped us plan activities and basically catered to all our needs and whims! The staff were excellent and breakfast was always delicious - Lydia's baked goodies an extra treat!
We would often sit by the pool and chat together which we really enjoyed. We learnt a lot about Bali, the people and their culture. Our children said their stay was one of the highlights of their holiday.
The B&B; is gorgeous and a lovely alternative to a large resort.
It had everything we needed and more!
Thankyou Bob and Lydia for a truly memorable experience. We hope to return one day. -

This is the place to go and recharge your batteries. From the moment of arrival, greeted personally at the airport by Bob and Lydia, we felt at home. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and comfortable. The breakfast is varied en well prepared. Lydia is an excellent cook and having her prepare an evening meal for us was a culinary delight. The rooms are spacious, quiet and very neat and clean.
The guesthouse is walking distance to the beach, shops and atm's. There are wonderdul restaurants (local) in the vicinity. Jimbaran beach is beautiful and going out of season is great as the beach is quiet.
Thank you for a great holiday! -

Lydia and Bob are extremely informative and they really went out of their way to welcome us into their lovely home and help us enjoy our entire trip (even when we were not staying with them). From the booking to the end of our trip, they made everything easy and enjoyable. They provided constant support for us when we were touring the island – helping us setting up a local cellphone, providing us with great reliable drivers, making spa appointments while we were on the road, and ordering restaurant takeout for us, etc. Thank you for everything!

Beware - once you experience Bob and Lidya's amazing hospitality you may never want to leave. We had a great time at this Bed and Breakfast and really feel that we have had an authentic Balinese experience.
Rooms are good, we had the smaller upstairs room which had a private balcony, although we chose to eat the delicious breakfasts downstairs with other guests.
The swimming pool is super clean and quite deep at one end, really refreshing for cooling off after a day out and about. We were too busy to make use of the home movie theatre but from what we saw its pretty impressive and has 1000's of titles.
Location is fine but you will need transport to get to the beach, we borrowed Bob and Lidya's bikes and rode around all the small streets nearby which was a real eye opener and highly recommended. Bali is such an amazing place!
We had a great trip and really enjoyed the hospitality that was provided by Bob, Lidya and their friendly staff, if you want to stay somewhere where you truly connect with the culture of Bali then this is the place. -

This place was wonderful, quiet and tranquil. Relax by the pool, or rest in air conditioned comfort. Great movie theatre room to choose from a huge range of movies if you didn't want to be out and about. Getting to know the locals a little was a highlight, great food, great massages. Was ideal for our teenage kids, being separate, but together in the same location. About twenty minutes from Kuta, ten minutes from Nusa Dua, ten minutes from Jimbaran Bay with the restaurants on the beach. Thanks for your hospitality.

Dear Bob and Lydia, your hospitality has no limits! Your advice not only about what to see, but also, for example, about using a balinese phonecard came in very handy. The lovely place and delicious pastry...we immediately felt at home at Bali.
And don't forget the driver/ guide Dewa. What a nice person that is! He drives safely and tells a lot about the balinese traditions. We (including our kids) liked him so much, we tried to arrange trips only with him.
Yesterday we felt sad leaving Bali...we've enjoyed the warmth of the island, its people, especially: of Lydia, Bob and Dewa. Thanx! Erica & EdwinResponse from Bob & Lydia - 08/01/2011

Hi Bob, We are safely back home in the USa instead of sitting around the pool at your beautiful establishment, (Aahh Bali bed & breakfast), there in Jimbaran, Bali. What a wonderful find; an oasis of solitude amongst the hustle and bustle of South Bali. Your hospitality was great, the service provided by Wayan delightful and the baked goods provided by your wife Lidia were beyond delicious. The building is incredible and the large air conditioned rooms and their furnishings are first class. The fact that our family was able to have the whole place to ourselves made it that much more special.
Thank you for providing such a wonderful home to enjoy during our visit to Bali and for sharing with us you knowledge of the area and of places not to be missed. Also thank you for introducing us to our driver and guide Dewa at (agunganom17@.com). He was a delightful person to be with and we always felt safe and comfortable touring around Bali with him at the wheel. His English speaking is great and his sharing of his knowledge of Bali, it's people, places and customs made the experience that much more enjoyable. Dewa also has a great sense of humor and is an enjoyable guy to spend time with.
Again Thank You for everything and I would definitely recommend you, Dewa, and aahh Bali bed & breakfast to anyone looking to visit Bali

Russiathis B&B; is a catch!
Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in December 2010
This B&B; is a catch! It has exceeded my expectations by far
1) Amazing service and great rooms: Bob & Lidya used to work for 5 star hotels before, so you are getting excellent service - truly excellent one - for a moderate price of B&B;! Bob and Lidia are always there to help with car arrangement, to advise where to go in Bali. Rooms are very spacious, light, with cute outdoor shower. Villa is made in Balinese style, a swimming pool and cinema room with a huge DVD choice definitely add up!
2) Convenient spot to explore the Southern Bali: sea shore Jim Baran restaurants with the most delicious sea food I have ever tried are just a 10 min drive away. Full meal for two inc starter, main course and desert will cost you 15 USD. Sea waves sound on the background, you legs in sand - great feeling! Rock bar, which is a place to be at the sun dawn is 15 min drive - don't miss this one! Nusa Dua, Kuta and Seminyak are about 30 - 40 drive away. A neighbor called Buti has very good bikes for 6 USD a day, so if you are adventurous might use this option - Bali from bike is definitely more exotic.
3) Great place to interact with others and get feeling of Bali - it is very often these days that you can not distinguish if you are in Latin american, African or asian resort, as all of them look alike with big hotels overcrowded by noisy tourists, but you still feel detached as there is not much interaction between the guests. When you stay in this beautiful baleens style villa - no doubt that you are on Bali! And you actually feel like you are home - everything is cozy, easy and at hand! There are only 3 rooms and during breakfast, which takes place at a large table you interact with Bob, Lidya and other guests, learning more about other people and other cultures.
I am not a big review writer, but felt like I need to write about this one as it was really a great one. Bob and Lidya, many thanks for your great hospitality!

MelbourneMy perfect holiday in Bali
Left on 01/09/2011 for a stay in January 2011
After two weeks in the Villa at Jimbaran I felt like I could never leave. The room was large and clean with air conditioning, television, DVD and a fantastic outdoor shower that I used every day rather than the traditional bathroom which was also available to me. The media room offered me abundant choice of entertainment if I wanted a quiet night at home, and anything I wanted I just needed to ask for. The hosts, Bob and Lidya, were fantastic and became friends I can't wait to see again. Nothing was too much trouble, they gave advice any time I needed it, and told me the best places to go and the best things to see. The Villa itself was looked after by Bob and Lidya and Wayan the maid. Wayan was ready to cook a huge and beautiful breakfast any time of the morning, no matter whether I had an early morning or a sleep in, and cleaned my room beautifully every day with a smile. Being out of the main tourist area, yet close to everything was a huge bonus. I could safely and easily walk to the beach where the restaurants served beautiful seafood in the sand, I had two gorgeous massage ladies two doors away who also became my friends, and everyone along the street waved and said hello every time I walked past. Drivers found me easily to take me anywhere I wanted to go, and I wanted for nothing the whole time I was there. I was looking for airfares to return to all my new friends before I'd even left the airport to return to australia. I'll be back in Bali very soon, and the Villa and my friends at Jimbaran will be the first port of call.

I stayed with my family at aah Bali for four days before Christmas. It was a great discovery – very attractive comfortable and hospitable accommodation, very reasonably priced, with all conveniences (wifi, home theatre room, pool, air-conditioning etc), extremely attentive service and assistance from owners Bob and Lydia, daily visits from maid, and access to a driver. The location is very quiet – perfect for relaxing by the pool, reading, chilling out. European/American style breakfast is included, and was generous and delicious. Evening meals can be arranged – Lydia is an excellent chef with experience working in major international hotels around the globe. We ate one night there – a 5 course seafood feast for USD 20 per person, and were invited to share an evening meal with our hosts on another occasion.
On a personal note I enjoyed talking with Bob on a wide range of subjects. I feel we made a friendship connection that I hope will continue into the future. For your interest, Bob’s favourite australian wine is Yellowtail Shiraz!
My only reservation was with getting around the area – to Jimbaran beach, or north to Kuta, going out for meals etc – was tricky when the driver was not available, as it is located (not too far) off the main tourist drag. As he was a “shared resource” for the owners, it did require some negotiation.
I look forward to staying here again. -
