Jindabyne is a 2 hours drive, south from Canberra, a 5 to 5.5 hour drive form Sydney and about 8 hours north of Melbourne.Jindabyne is the support / service town for the New South Wales Snow ski resorts of Thredbo and Perisher Blue Ski resorts. It is a 30 to 35 minute drive to either resort for Thredbo.
"The Point" is 7 klms from Jindabyne, and is approx 40 kilometres to the Ski resorts.Jindabyne sits on Lake Jindabyne, which is part of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric scheme- a great lake for ALL water sports, sail and power boats, paddling, trout fishing , swimming.
Jindabyne is principally a self drive destination.
The town has everything a traveller needs. A Woolworths supermarket, doctors, two shopping centres, a large industrial area, two physiotherapists, solicitors, butchers, pharmacy multiple restaurants, Mitre 10 hardware.and a modern movie theatre.
We are also one of the gateways to the Kosciusko National park

This was our first experience in hiring a house out and we were looking for a large place for a large group of adults and kids. We found it. The Point is perfect. The house was immaculate, the beds were so comfortable and there were plenty of bathrooms to cater for our group. Great views as well. We all had a great time. Close to the ski fields as well. Brendan could not have been more accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We loved it and will be back again soon.

The Point is fabulous - modern, stylish with breath-taking views. Every comfort has been thought of and catered to. The management is helpful and approachable.

The Point was the perfect holiday house for our ski getaway. Our group of 11 adults had more than enough room to unwind after a long day on the slopes. Two of our group were not skiing and the house with its beautiful views and log fire was a great winter retreat for them too.
The kitchen was amazing and the large dining table was perfect for group dinners. Really loved the dry room to get our soaking gear all ready for the next day's action. Only regret is that wasn't wasn't enough time to enjoy the spa!
I'd love to come and stay during summer as well - the views of the lake really are magical, and the outdoor bbq and dining area is the perfect setting to have lazy summer evenings with a glass of wine and bbq feast.Response from Brendan Neville - 10/15/2012
