Dunsmuir, CaliforniaComfortable house - lovely setting

We had a lovely time staying here - a very good value. The house is located in a small, traditional Mexican village, hidden in the jungle 30 miles south of Puerto Vallarta, but conveniently close to Boca de Tomatlan beach and lots of restaurants and activities. In fact, the house itself is located across a footbridge from an outdoor restaurant, so you don't have to travel far for food and drink. Just below the front porch (excellent bird & iguana watching!) is a beautiful warm river - great for swimming. The family next door is friendly and helpful and will cook delicious meals for you if you're interested. The house was prettier and more spacious than I expected, and a reasonably short commute into Puerto Vallarta. Wild Orchid House was a very pleasant surprise. Helen Cartwright, Dunsmuir, California

Stormville, NYAn amazing place
Left on 01/29/2011 for a stay in November 2010
The Wild Orchid House is an amazing place. It has modern comforts and a real Mexican experience. It is close to many attractions and yet away from the hustle of the city, providing a really relaxing experience. We swam in the river right in front of the house, with our own beach. The canopy tour and restaurants are right there. Nearby is the botanical gardens, horseback riding, Atvs riding, etc. Ivan, who looks after the place and visitors, was very helpful. The house is on the far side of the river. Ivan was there everytime to carry luggage, groceries and make sure all was okay. He regularly checked in with a cheery "Ola!" The views are beautiful. The weather was great for sleeping since the house is a little ways into the mountains. It is an amazing place from which to experience Mexico and Puerto Vallarta.
