My daughter and I were very fortunate to stay at Jacaranda House for 4 weeks . Our stay was made very welcome by such wonderful hosts ,
Nothing ,was ever too much trouble ,If needed transport was always available .
The wonderful Breakfast table was always indulged by us
and the Sun downer drinks always went down very well ,
I highly recommend this delightful B / B ,,,and will be back later in 2013 ,

Jacaranda House was my home for ten days and when I say "Home" I really mean it! The house is beautiful, full of nice places to chill, to read, or spend time with your family. The service is impeccable, the house is clean, bright and fresh. The food is amazing and if are a vegetarian don´t worry, they will take good care of you. I found the owner the kindest person ever, always ready to help and the Jacaranda staff are also very friendly. The location is perfect, its safe to walk or jogging. All together, the house, the location the owner and the staff make Jacaranda House the place to be if want to stay in Johannesburg.

We found a jem in Sonja she made our stay perfect. We had a lot of different demands due to our daughter's wedding plans and nothing was to much for Sonja to pop us in her car to solve some of the dilemmas. We will always hold Sonja and John in our harts.
It felt like home from home, it was a quiet, clean and safe neighbourhood. There were two members of staff, we enjoyed their friendly presence, thank you both.Response from Sonja van der Broek - 01/12/2013

The Jacaranda House was a perfect place for our family of 5 to stay during our visit to Sa. Sonja, our innkeeper, couldn't have been more gracious and hospitable. She loaned us her Tom Tom and maps to get around town. She provided an extra mattress in the room where our daughter's stayed (ages 17-22) so no one would have to stay alone. The location was very convenient, the breakfasts were outstandingly delicious, and visiting with Sonja and John was sheer delight.
The bedrooms and baths were all very nice and comfortable. I liked that the guest rooms were in a wing of the house where you could be shut off from the rest of the house if you wanted. We never used the pool as we were never around during the daytime, but it looked quite nice too.
Truly, the highlight here is Sonja and her kind and gracious personality. She is the perfect B+B host and helped make our trip unforgettable. After getting 3 flat tires on our way to our safari she helped us get phone numbers and information that we needed. She felt almost like a relative - a kind aunt who will help you however needed. Plus, she's just a lot of fun too.
This was a beautiful home and a perfect place to relax at night. So much better than a big, impersonal hotel!

The Jacaranda House is a wonderful find. Situated on a quiet street in a safe neighborhood near several shopping centers, it is the perfect place for holiday and business stays. We spent three months in Jacaranda and loved every minute of it. Sonja is an excellent host with a unique attention to detail. She is kind, flexible and accommodating. Rooms are spacious, bright, clean and well-kept. The property has a variety of outdoor spaces for relaxing and sundowners. We will continue staying at Jacaranda whenever we are in town and highly recommend it to family and friends.

We stayed at Jacaranda House for two nights after a long drive and before a long flight. We felt so welcome immediately. The rooms were very spacious, very clean and very comfortable and we had such a relaxing time. Shopping centres and attractions were within easy driving distances. The breakfasts were superb and the children loved the pool and friendly dog. Sonja went way out of her way to help us source a treasure we were after and we'll be forever grateful. All in all, thoroughly recommended. We had a super time - thank you all!

When we arrived, we immediately had a sence of space in the house, which carried through to the bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms.Everything is immaculate with luxurious towels and bedlinnen.Sonja is a great hostess,who will make you feel at home immediately. We miss the chats over breakfast and the cold white wines before dinner.
There are lots of lovely Restaurants nearby which Sonja recommended. The road is safe and quiet and we were luckey to see the Jacaranda trees in fool bloom.
We had an unforgettable stay. -

I spent the whole October at this very special place. Sonja and her house maid bring the stay to something very special. She is just an amazing host and anticipates every wish. You will feel at home at the very first moment. Jacaranda House is located in a safe area, everything easy reachable by car. Nice Italian restaurant 2-3 minutes away, more restaurants at melrose arch (mall).
Rooms are very spacious with an luxery en-suit bathroom. Coffee and tea making facility in room, big fridge available in the guest lounge. Everything very clean and comfy.
Customized Breakfast at Jacaranda House is better than in 5* hotels I stayed before. Loved the scrambled eggs.
I am going to stay at this special place whenever I will visit Johannesburg

We spent 7 months here and loved it ! Great room, super breakfast. Absolutely great people who run the place, we felt like part of a family during our stay. Nice pool and garden. Plenty of shopping nearby, grocery stores, malls. Not far from Sandton and Nelson Mandela Square. Very good italian restaurant with great pizza in walking distance. We did a 1 1/2 hr. power walk in the area every morning, absolutely safe and nice. Highly recommendable.

This guest house is a very nice place to rest after a long day of work or after a long day going on a safari.
The rooms are very comfortable and every room has it own big bath room.
The landlords a very nice and i was always welcome to sit together to chat and have a glass of wine or dinner sometimes.
And of corse the snooker nights!
All in one i had a good time and i hope buissnes or private brings me over again.

We can highly recommend the Jacaranda House for the business traveller and the leisure traveller as well. Courteous service, spacious rooms, near to restaurants and centrally located. Truely an Executive B&B; Retreat.

Jacaranda House - B&B; is a great place to stay, and has a comfy homelike atmosphere. Instead of staying in regular hotels, I can definitely recommend this. Service is excellent, rooms are quiet and clean, equipped with nice bathrooms and wifi internet. The served breakfast is something on its own, have to be experienced.. All serviced with a smile by very friendly people.

What a great stay. In fact I have stayed a few times now. I travel to Johannesburg at least 4 times a year on business. The chain hotels are becoming so expensive with no value for money. Jacaranda House gives e all the mod cons I need, comfort, fabulous breakfast and warm hospitality. I will continue to use it for my business trips and hope to plan a vacation using it as my base.
